*note after watching the video: i agree with Joseph's assessment of both the tenyi's overall power level and how it will affect swordsoul/tenyi in the metagame. cool cards, but swordsoul still doesn't really do "enough". There are some crazy and weird possible link/synchro boards utilizing these cards in incredibly niche scenarios, but it doesn't do anything insane. un-ironically the nicest thing about this is that Surya means that, assuming you draw it with moye, you can shield yourself from imperm/ash/veiler on setup. (also, an appendix on me "one tricking" swordsoul in relevance to MBT's comments about it being mainly for new players, it isn't the most fun deck ive played, and i am capable of playing other things, but i like the challenge of its linearity, and i like swords and dragons, so its my favorite that currently exists. Relative to Mr. Blue-tron, I'd be considered a newer player, but by any other metric of time I've been playing quite a while, so it is not an issue of inexperience in why i still play the deck.)
I one tricked tenyi for like 3 years after it released in RIRA, then tenyi swordsoul for a year or two after BODE so this is the best day of my life tbh
@Honerkamp The fact your opponent knows exactly what you want to do and there's a limited amount of ways to adapt compared to a less linear deck. It being linear makes it easier to play at a basic setup level but more difficult to actually play the mental game with.
I literally started playing master duel again because of the Rarran videos. I made Swordsoul Tenyi due to the free structure deck and seemingly being fairly straightforward and not just playing with yourself for 15 minutes (Snake-Eyes). I'm very happy everyone seems happy about this support.

people miss that QQ card has that lock only while on the field. it doesn't say "the turn you summoned" or "for the of the turn". it only locks you until you use it / remove it from the field.
Cosmic Cyclone is still better since it actually does something against Centur-Ion setups, which by the way have ways of dealing with Tenpai shenanigans if they can get to a Chaos Angel when the Field Spell gets put down.
Not only do you have easy access to Protos, thanks to Surya you can special summon the Link 2 for free, wich is a fire Monster and call fire with Protos very consistently since Surya is easy searchable in this deck as well.
Tenyi Swordsoul will now go full combo board, and then search and play necro valley to lock out the opponent turn 1. Don't underestimate this strategy.

Why is every person in a yugitubers chat talking about something they are clueless about you say "materiactor is 5 combo" but you have 0 knowledge of its inner workings or "this support is useless" like fr stfu lol and wait till your yugituber spoon feeds you combos and tells whether you like it or not cause you cant decide that on your own.
The Materiactor cards are SO COOL but they have horrible synergy with the rest of 3-axis. Rank 3 for some reason has an absurd concentration of monsters that are generic to summon, but give you access to their deck's entire engine when you bring them out. So, you can include a few pieces of that engine, and see it every game by making the rank 3 with generic cards. The problem is, YOU KEEP ATTACHING THE TOP CARD OF YOUR DECK TO YOUR MONSTERS! If you attach any of your search targets, it hurts you tremendously. Plus, you're playing so many soft garnets, it's hard to get value from attaching from deck, because you have less room to play non engine. The deck is the worst kind of slot machine, the "I lose if my combo doesn't go exactly to plan" kind.
I think the intention of attaching the top card of deck was so you can use their gimmick to add their material to the hand. It's essentially pot of prosperity with extra steps, but capitalizes off pulling handtraps
@@jerix5882 Their gimmick only lets you add to hand on the opponent's turn, for the most part. Once you've resolved the continuous spell's first effect, if something gets stuck under your XYZ, your options are to detach it with a Goblin effect or just leave it there.
I really dont want tenpai, i cant afford to play paper, so i dont know first hand, but theres already so many "meta" decks that feel pretty full power still for them to have been hit, and tenpai sounds like even more of that with a barely different flavor
MD is unplayable thanks to Tenpai being functionally full power and the TCG is unplayable because Fuwalos is functionally just Maxx C. Tenpai needed pre-hits on the level of Kashtira to be reasonable in MD and Fuwalos needs to get banned ASAP. The Mulcharmy cards in general were a gigantic design mistake because getting to draw cards for your opponent performing basic game actions is functionally a floodgate from hand. In terms of game health, we’re back down to the lows seen during tier 0 Spyral format and Firewall FTK/Gouki hand loop format. The impact to gameplay is infinitely worse than anything decks like Tear, Kashtira, and SE ever did.

I feel like Swordsoul and Tenyi have become such an obvious a combination that I think people forget to try out other ideas for what to pair with Tenyi. The answer is still probably obviously Swordsoul, but I still do kind of want to see people maybe experiment with a Materiactor Tenyi deck or something (though it probably doesn't do what you want at all, even at first glance) Really I just want to see people doing weird shit with Tenyi other than the pretty known things it can do with Swordsoul

Nah, these cards don't do nearly enough to put it at the top of the meta, especially in TCG without Baronne.
Honestly it doesn’t have to be top meta, as long as it’s fun and matches up well into some of the top decks I’m satisfied
