    I was led here under strong turmoil seeking answers, tired of being attacked by my family, literally worn down to a nub. God's been teaching me and this gave me so much encouragement and strength. I love all of his teachings, I can listen to them all day. God continue to bless you!!

      @@skipdegraff6547I like this. I'm glad I saw your reply. Yes!! Praise report a year later: It actually just hit me how much more God has strengthened me from experiences a year ago in teaching me to trust in Him. It was a total mess. I had lost my dad suddenly and was the only child left to manage his home and all his affairs due to siblings being far and also hard hearts and dissensions going on. I was going through a severe and painful healing crisis by myself with no one to help while handling the house, I couldn't work either. By the grace of God's hands through friends with listening ears across the country, compassionate hearts and helping hands and the grace of my widowed stepmom, God lovingly blessed me and took care of me in EVERY WAY, through surprising twists and turns, even through my parents in their deaths. Is life perfect now? Of course not, there are extreme challenges I face right now, but if it wasn't for what He taught me last year I wouldn't have the levels of calm, patience or trust I have today to help see me through. He really grew me. Honestly my description of a year ago wasn't even everything, just some highlights!! I was really put through the wringer. People, trust in Him even when you feel totally lost, bleak, bottom of the barrel, blind tears. Know and trust He is always with you and has your best interests at heart even if it may not seem that way at all. I poured out my tears, anguish, soul...I also discovered that peace that passes all understanding and His light radiating and blessing me. Trust our Father Who does exceedingly and abundantly beyond what we can imagine. This doesn't even begin to describe all that God has done in my life but if I can give Him praise and help someone reading about this small but crucial chapter in my life it will put a smile on my heart.

    Long suffering is a fruit of the Spirit. The suffering is like a chisel that sharpens us. Through the trials I feel that the sin of the world is purged out of us and the fruits of the spirit is magnified. The persecution connects us closer to Jesus bringing us more connections as we have the privilege to literally suffer with Christ and glorified with Christ.

    Chapter 5 verse 13 indicates that Peter was in Babylon when he wrote 1 Peter. Some religions believe that Peter was the first pope of Rome and that 1 Peter was actually written from Rome. They explain this by saying that Rome was referred to by Peter as "Babylon". This was not addressed in the video. Any thoughts?

  • @skippy8696
    @skippy8696 Рік тому

    I believe the story of the rich man and Lazarus was not a parable for a few reasons...1) if it is, it's the only parable where one of the 'characters' actually has a name 2) it doesn't possess the literary devices typically seen in a parable. Parables are allegorical in nature, where the people and events of the story usually represent or symbolize some greater truth or reality.
    I'm not saying you should take this as gospel but it is a viable theory. James White, in his interview with Steven Anderson, talks about how Hades had two 'compartments' and that's where they are. It's possible this story really occurred and Jesus is telling it to simply illustrate a point.

    Peter was brought to Cornelius through Cornelius, and Peter was being corrected because Peter was a racist, and Peter even fell back into racism from peer pressure. Even more interesting though is Peter's vision...it was not a spinning ball in the vison, and Peter would have recognized the earth in his vison.

    @kevinrosner8676 2 роки тому

    37:00. The option you left out is the one you know I will argue (respectful and politely, argue sounds like such a harsh word). Imo, the “spirits in prison” are the fallen angels of Genesis 6:4. They have already been judged. 2 Peter 2:4 (I haven’t got to your lesson on 2 Peter) Jude 1:6. “All flesh was ruined”. by sin? Or by breeding with angels? ….the fallen angels imprisoned by Raphael. Just bc noncanonical are not in the Bible, does not make them 100% lies. This is also a THEORY. The Bible is truth. I cannot conclude from the Bible to completeness of this story. I do believe there is enough bibical evidence to support a conclusion support by Michael Heiser among others.
    Lazarus IS a parable. That is true. We cannot use a parable to support factual truth. It can be a footnote, but not in the equation of proof.

    • @kevinrosner8676
      @kevinrosner8676 2 роки тому

      I will add two options for 4:6. Was the gospel preached to the dead or preached to the living who are now dead?
      We’ve seen Christ in the TaNaKh (I’m trying to no longer say OT). The good news WAS preached to Israel before Jesus was born. I’m going with optionB on this question. Anyone saying A, I couldn’t not convict as being wrong.
