    I've got an audient asp800 and it's blown twice. I've lost all faith in audient.

    Thanks for the demo work! great examples and well done. I’ve been considering this as a purchase for a while now and this sealed the deal. Tracking sounds very nice and warm

    Hey Ryan. Old video but just wanted your opinion as i'm looking at one of these or the new clarett+ octopre. Knowing you tried the Clarett+ recently which would you drop the cash on now if given the choice for an extra 8 ADAT pres? Thanks man x

    I should also mention that you play the guitars and drums quite well. Nice easy stye and you do not try to overpower the drums or the guitars like some players do.

    So, can this be used as an audio interface?

    I’m a total audient fanboy. Currently running an audient iD4 interface and am soon gonna be upgrading to one of the new iD44’s because I just love how they sound. Spot on review man! Easily one of the better channels I’ve found recently, thanks for the great information!

    I have asp880 and really happy with what it gives to me.. I'm using it's own converter digitally connected with my Lynx aurora 8 + 4 additional preamps, total of 12 channels.. For me, i have great drum sound..

    Great video... do you know of any option of a adding a 4 channel ADAT interface to an I’d 44? Thanks 🙏

    I haven't had experience with this unit, but I own the predecessor of it, the ASP008 which I love. I find it's really great for stuff where you want to have nice attack on transient-heavy instruments like acoustic guitars or drums. They're not too far away from where I am in the UK either, which is pretty cool.

    My rig is an iD44 (4 channel interface) with 2 ASP800s, for 20 channels of inputs and 24 channels of outputs. I love it, and the preamps sound so punchy on drums.

    I tracked an amazing female vocal on an SM7b through channel 1. I have a rock trio session this week and am looking forward to it on some sources. Great product!

    can it be used to amplify earphone line-level without distortion (instead of microphone)?

    I just won this unit along with an id14. It seems they do a lot with the online community. Love the scroll control on the id14. We just moved so I’m itching to set up the drum set and tryout all 10 channels with both units.

    Pretty nice sound - I'm a big fan of any saturation options usually...I think the iron is much better than the hmx in this case. At least for drums anyway 👍

    Creative Sound Lab - What are your thoughts on using the retro channel when mixing? would you find them useful.

    Use it with my antelope Orion 32+ for an extension of a ssl alpha 4 channel preamp and a wa-412. Very good pre, very transparent and smooth. Like them on overheads. Use it when I’m recording drums. My only complaint is not having a on/off switch button on the front panel.

    guys i would like to buy the rme ufx but my sound engineer told me to buy rme adi 2 pro fs with asp 800 preamps and my teacher told me to buy appolo 8.because i m not so expert what is your advice?

    • @creativesoundlab
      @creativesoundlab  4 роки тому

      The appolo is a good unit. I've heard stuff with it and their mixes and recordings sounded great. If you have UAD plugs, then I would go with that. If not, then just use what you can find. Used is always a good route.

    Every time I hear one of these Audient things I just LOVE the sound coming out of them. They just sound clear and large to me. I think my only option now is to consider buying an ASP800 when I need to expand my inputs. My only gripe is that they don't give you 8 outs at the same time over ADAT. My Presonus DP88 has ins and outs so I value it for that reason.

    • @creativesoundlab
      @creativesoundlab  6 років тому +1

      Yeah I really think the preamps are good.

    • @saam6768
      @saam6768 6 років тому

      I think you can get 8 outs over ADAT if you work at 48k sample rate. I have the same issue with my Focusrite Octopre. Bought expecting to get 8 extra inputs into my Scarlett 18i20 only to learn that at 96k sample rate I can only do 4 outs. There's a word for ADAT ports that can handle, and I guess they're referred to as S/MUX (I don't know much about all that, just started reading about it yesterday).

    • @monkeyxx
      @monkeyxx 6 років тому +1

      Yes that's true ADAT is limited to 48K (unless you have SMUX, you do here) what I was talking about is the ASP800 has no DACs at all, it's an input-only device

    • @Iansdaboss
      @Iansdaboss 6 років тому

      You can run both ADAT outs, 4 channels of 96 on each though, right? For example into the iD44 interface

    • @monkeyxx
      @monkeyxx 6 років тому

      Yes, that's called "SMUX" it involves two toslinkt/optical ports, 4 channels per, maximum rate of 96,000 you got it right. As long as both interfaces support that you're good to go. You can run "half" of an ASP800 or similar as well to a single port (4 channels only).
