MMMM Sounds OK for a simple stage one exhaust mod, but the stage 5 mod removing the baffles and AIS system is definitely the way to go with these, louder and so much nicer sound. Use a hole saws to remove the part drilled in this video revealing the baffle. Then use a long flat blade mechanics screw driver and hammer to break the baffle spot welds deep inside the pipes, remove baffles. Looks factory, but mine now has fully controllable back fires, pops, bangs, gurgles, absolutely awesome, sounds so good everybody assumes it's a 1100-1800, they look at me in utter disbelief when i tell them it's a 650, so i stopped telling them, that's how good it is.
I bought XVS 650 with this mod. I have 2 holes in each pipe. The sound is awesome. I'm afraid that it is too loud and I will be fined by the police. Maybe I'm wrong
Rode around with a much louder modified stock exhaust for years (Baffles and AIS removed). Bike inspected several times since by police and roadworthy inspectors whom passed it after observing factory stamp on the exhaust. Meanwhile cops continue to forensically examine Harleys/owners in QLD for any code violations.
It is not that much difference. 4/10 to your answer tho. 4holes is still quiet. Put on a short straight pipe with baffles in them yesterday and those are loud ;)
@@glennhn188 Thanks. I hear you on the loud. I bought the bike with a Thunderheader on it and it shook loose my fillings ;) Loving the quiet in contrast, but it's a bit too quiet. Enjoy your shorties.
Darreign Clark hey I just drilled the four holes around the tip coming out at the end of the silencer / muffler. The holes are drilled above, under and both sides of the tip. Try looking at the thumbnail, it has a picture of the tip :)

Finally a decent video of this mod 👌🏼🔥
Sounds great! But damn, I would've spent a few minutes lining up those holes, so it at least looked like they were supposed to be there ^^

No rejetting needed?
@@valerciora5952 No carburettor adjustments at all. But it's better to also remove and or block the AIS system for much better sound effects.
@@academyofnaturaljustice8939 Cool, thank you!
@@academyofnaturaljustice8939 how would I go about blocking the ais? Cheers
@@R20BRJ Better to remove AIS less weight and much better look. Either way BelissiMoto has an AIS removal kit with fitting instructions for $19.95
Sounds perfect, unlike my exhaust has the vanes & Hines brand too loud wake up the neighborhood 😄
Thanks for the vid mate 👍
Anyone know if there was any performance loss with this mod?
Nice video!

These bikes aren’t loud with stock exhaust even if modified. I think you’ll be fine :) get an after market straight pipe :D

O ja pierdole... te dziury to chyba Wazzup robił no tak niezdarnie że szkoda gadać. Co nie zmienia faktu, że efekt dało kozacki
The sound is nice!
Wait where did you drill these holes ?
I'll be doing this to mine on Wednesday, sounds great and not to obnoxious and loud where you just come across a complete wanker 👋😂
have you tried this? do you like it?
How much louder is one hole? If stock is 3 out of 10 on the loudness scale would it make it a 4 or is it much higher?

This can be done on the xvs125?
Thanks for sharing. What’s the hole measure?
6mm
Where did you drill the holes?! How far apart? In a line etc?

GlennHN thanks man!
Just cut the baffles out completely...
Can u just cut off completely or cut the baffles out?

And re-jet.. definitely re-jet. The Yamaha v twin is very picky.
Sounds only loud but Not nice
Sorry
How many sizes up is everyone re-jetting after doing these exhaust "mods"?
Many say exhaust mod doesn’t need rejetting. Only if fitting hi flow intake.
