Poke your attacker in the eyes, and as he goes backwards which he will, because anybody poked in the eyes will flinch backwards, bring your foot round his neck and pushed it down so he is now of you and on the floor. Then bring your foot down on his head or his balls before getting up and giving him a good kick in the head or balls for good measure. That would be self defence as he was attacking you and is very effective.
