“Brave Soul” is a song off ILLENIUM’s fourth studio album “FALLEN EMBERS” featuring Emma Grace as the singer on the song.
On March 23rd, ILLENIUM did a Twitch livestream with Complex and Hannah Rad, where someone asked about Nick about a song he said he made that was “even more emotional then Take You Down” and it if was going to be on “FALLEN EMBERS”. Nick replied by confirming that “Brave Soul” would be the last song on the album.
Nick said the song was not about his story, but it was still within the same realm of Take Your Down. When Hannah asked ILLENIUM “Are you gonna make us cry?” Nick replied saying “It fucks me up, honestly. My mom can’t listen to it without crying. It’s really meaningful for me to kind of put it out there about mental health and addiction.”
On July 3rd, ILLENIUM debuted the song during the FALLEN EMBERS preview at the end of his “Trilogy” show at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Nick prefaced the meaning of the song by saying “I have a very, very good friend of mine and I wrote it (the song) with his sister, and they unfortunately lost a brother to drug overdose. They’re one of my best friends, and so I wrote this song with Emma.”
The song was released on July 16th along with the rest of FALLEN EMBERS.
