Wow, you are a master at growing tropical plants up north.
Well it's a lot of trial and error. Some things are easy and some supposedly easy things are hard. But thank you.
Your yard is a tropical paradise! Incredible.
Thank you Paul
Absolutely spectacular Tim! You have such an amazing selection of plants and I love how you utilized the space you have and transformed it into a tropical paradise especially with the Hudson River as the back drop... outstanding!
Thank you so much. Well I love what you're doing with your plams too!
@@newyorktropicalgarden9364 Thanks Tim much appreciated!
I'm in love with your place!
Don't be sorry about the water noise, it is very relaxing.
Thank you so much!!
Absolutely beautiful ! I can’t believe that you can make tropical garden in NY ! I am from Fl.
I like to pretend I am in Florida!
Magnifique !
Thank you!
Looks really lush an exotic! The plants are looking so good. Especially the bananas. Rewards from all the time used overvwntering the plants. Greetings from Zone 7 in Denmark
Thank you. I wish I was in Zone 7. I've seen some great tropical gardens in Denmark
Tim I love your gardens! You brought the tropics to the Hudson Valley
Thank you. It doesn't look very tropical right now. But I'm ready for spring!!!!
@@newyorktropicalgarden9364 Have one of your big pool parties
I hope to open the pool in April@@JT-ok6re
Nice to see you again been wondering if everything was ok , as always what an amazing place you have ! This years rain has everything lush and green and so much growth on the palms specially! As we head into fall not looking forward to winter! Blessings 🙏🌴 Jose's Tropical Garden 🌴
I have been posting a lot on Instagram but I am trying to post more on UA-cam. Summer was an odd mix of weather as you know. I’m not looking forward to winter either.
@@newyorktropicalgarden9364 I don't do Instagram, you were missed here on UA-cam , I've put out quite a few videos this year,, as a 58 year old and not tech savvy , my daughter is teaching me and im getting more comfortable with it! Always a pleasure 🙏🇺🇸
Pretty impressive! What hardiness zone are you situated in? I would have guessed some of these species require at least zone 9 without winter protection...
I'm in Zone 6A New York. So we can get some pretty harsh winters. I do think the Hudson River keeps me a little bit warmer. So yes, I do a lot of protection on the palms to get them through the winter.
What type of yucca is that towards end of video? And do you have to protect that?
Nice garden. The fern is called "Matteuccia struthiopteris" aka ostrich fern. You can plant it in the ground. Its very hardy. It will die back and lose leaves in winter but it will start to make new leaves around this time and always survives. Im also in New York
I forgot to thank you on this. Much appreciated
What about noting your flowers…perineals?
This summer I will try and talk about them too!
Beautiful - how do you keep the racoons from your koi?
I've been very lucky with no racoons. I do bring my koi in for the winter so maybe that helps
Really encouraging to see your plants in this zone. Are you overwintering gingers in ground? Cheers from 7A Arkansas
Hi there. I would love to have a 7A Zone! And I like Arkansas too. I have a few hardy gingers that stay outside but for the most part I dig them up and put them in the garage. They don't really like it but bounce back quickly in the spring.
Incredible!!!!
Thank you Jeff!
Spectacular!
Thank you
