That’s the best mandocello tone I’ve ever heard 🎵
Bostin, that!
I really like listening to your playing! 👍
Wonderful! Love the sound of the mandocello.
Wow, that is impressive! I struggle with that tune on mando.
This is greatness!
Sounding excellent!
Awesome, yes, great tone. Inspiring!
Thanks mate!
Great style and presentation a musical delight 😊
Thank you!
Damn, I need a Mandocello
Do it!!
Maravilhoso
Superb.
You really rock on this thing. Brilliant work, thanks for sharing this with us. Rock on, brother!
Thanks so much Jerrel! Gonna post some more real soon!
@@lukewilliamwright I look forward to that. Your videos are unique on UA-cam and your music is so great to listen to. I'm converting a guitar into a Mandocello right now but neither it nor I will sound anywhere near as good as you !
@@MountainHomeJerrel that’s awesome man! Good luck with it!
Very nice!
Well done, man!
Very nice
Nice!
Check out Mark O'Connor Mandocello. Gandalf.
Wicked!
hey, that's some really fine playing!
Thank you 😊
Thanks for your reply. I love your playing! It gives me something to aspire too. I have the same strings on my Freshwater Mandocello, but the scale is 24”, which makes the C strings slightly floppy. I hope you post more videos.
Thanks for your comment! So happy to hear you dig what I do and I’ll definitely post more! I’ve also got more content on my Instagram 🤘I’ve got an Italian bowl back Mandocello with a 24” scale, definitely more flop on the C but still fun. I run the C string as a single string instead of double which I think helps.
Super nice! Really enjoyed that. Just out of curiosity - why the capo?
Thanks! Capo because the song is in E major, and using the open D shape sounds better cause you are using open strings more. Therefore, capo the 2nd fret. Try it and I’m sure you’ll agree it sounds better 👍
Beautiful! I'm not big on commenting a lot, but that was real tasteful! And what make is your mando cello by the way?
Thanks mate! The make is Duff 👍
Someday...
Someday indeed. If you ever find a good and reasonably priced mandocello, keep me posted. Bouzouki is good, but I'd really like to try my hand at mandocello.
@@mikkelfraskui yeah, all the good ones I want run around 7-9 grand.
Great, what kind‘a gauge do you use?
Standard d’Addario J78
Very nice. What strings do you use?
Standard d’Addario Mandocello set
What I wouldn't give, if God had caught me early enough to play like that.
Could you tell me what strings you’re using?
Just standard d’addario J78
Thanks for the tip on the single C string. I'll give it a try!
I think his warm tone might be partly due to his use of what sounds to be a rubber pick rather than a hard plastic one.
Bostin!
Really nice sounding. I'm no fan of playing the MC but it's hard not to love the sound. I'll stick to guitar down in that range and my regular mando for sure
