Its a hard time to be an Orca. Tahlequah just lost another calf, J61, her last calf was lost in 2018 when she pushed his body for 17 days out of grief. Another baby was born recently and I’m praying for that little baby and the mom. There’s just not enough food and it’s all our faults. It’s sad but we must remain optimistic for a better future for them.
I moved to this area specifically for the orcas, there were some things I didn’t know in this video! Very cool, I would be interested in a more detailed history of the early captures if you have more information
Thank you for the education! For some reason orcas were sorta skipped in my schooling, we did the salmon run at Goldstream (I will never forget that smell), the tide pools at Clover Point, Bamberton Beach with the gooey ducks and crabs, the harbour seals in the inner harbour, nothing about orcas and their history, just ads for the prince of whales stuff
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but this seems like it was filmed for shorter platforms but ended up being too long ago it went up on UA-cam. It just seemed rushed, which I get!!!... but hear me out... This kind of content would be amazing for longer form. You have so much knowledge to share! I would definitely watch these types of videos that are more deep dives. Why not just post more educational/ long form content on UA-cam instead of IG and TT? just thought! love your content ✨️
You're right that it was initially for TikTok and in fact I'm trying to point people here from IG right now. I appreciate the encouragement and I'm hoping to do some longer form education content in 2025! As of right now it's putting together the time to film produce and edit longer but its definitely down the pipeline. Appreciate the encouragement and hope you stick around!
Lots of great information in there bud! However, it was quite abstruse. Perhaps collecting your thoughts and writing a script would help. If nothing else it would make the video more comprehensible, eh. Cheers from a fellow Canadian!
Definitely will for future videos, for this one in particular I was trying to get as much information as I could into a 10 minute time for TikTok as a personal challenge
I love passionate rants! I hope the views pick up, people deserve to see your love for orcas!

Very information-dense. I like it! The font is a bit difficult to read.
