Marshall is such an artist, in the purest sense of the word. Her music fills me with such a unique sense of hope. I don't quite know how to describe it, and I'm so grateful for her music

@@kathleenclark653 Hahahaha! You're not demented! Judy Collins is awesome, I love her. But I was talking about Shirley. I guess one could say that she was the British Joan Baez, a real folk queen! And during the 70's she released albums that sound a lot like this Cat Power version. I suggest you give "The Power of the True Love Knot" a spin. It's one of her most beautiful records. You can find it here on UA-cam. ☺️

When I read Cat Power covered this with only a Mellotron I got intrigued, but I left let down. I do like the stark video in contrast to Shane's vivid lyrics, though.
