It probably has to do with OOP (Object Oriented Programming). Essentially each class contains attributes of it's parents class. The easiest example of this would be a scenario as follows: Imagine you're tasked with creating a tree (in a program). Okay simple enough, let's say all trees have these characteristics: Brown trunk, has branches, is leafy green. Alright, cool, tree done. But now you're asked with creating a fruit tree. Alright, well rather than simply creating a whole new tree, why not just use the same attributes as the a nonfruit tree(the parent), but add it's own special attributes: produces fruit. Now we have the base tree class, and the fruit tree class. The fruit tree borrows/contains all the attributes of the main tree, but also has it's own unique attributes. Not extremely useful on it's own, however if you were tasked to create 100 different types of fruit trees, that's where it pays off, as you wouldn't have to recreate 100 fruit trees from the bottom up, you'd just pull the attributes from it's parents, and then add whatever you needed from there. It goes further than that, as the child can also be a parent if you kept branching downward (for example: creating a base tree -> fruit tree -> apple tree -> red apple tree - soft red apple tree -> etc) In this case, Sherry may have just adopted all the attributes of a playable character, which includes the rain animations, but because she's not meant to die/be with zombies/etc, she doesn't have those animations, unlike Claire. I think the RE Engine is built that way. They load it dynamically based on where you are, and unloads the sections that you do not see. It's effective since RE2 setting is really small
it's called bone retarget. When creating animations for games we have to put a few "bones" in the 3d model to serve as kind os controls so u can make animations (processe called rig). So, when you have meshes with similar bones u can use ones animations in another. Also, the "bite animation scene" that triggers the damage is an interaction between 2 3d models, where the biter always focus a certain bone (it's similar to IK, but i can't remmeber the name right now), and that's why they also bite her in the right spot (and not on the air), it's because sherry and Claire (maybe even Leon) has tha same bone structure.
I suspect that developers are aware that mods have become commonplace in the video game industry and wanted to cover their backs to avoid ridicule LOL.

I find it fascinating how Sherry has the same set of animations Leon and Claire have for wiping away and shielding from the rain as well as getting bit and shoving zombies off. Seems like Sherry's model is being tied to that animation and her textures are applying the wet effect even though she was never supposed to be wet at all in the game. I wonder if it's some sort of effect the rain puts over any character that goes out in the rain? Also the grenade is hilarious lol

I’m pretty sure in the program it’s just coded to turn the flashlight ON when you enter a certain spot because you’re always supposed to be Claire in that area. So if the game detects you’re walking into that area you’ll turn the flashlight on. You could be playing as bowser or Mario or Donald trump and the flashlight would probably still pop up hahaha

it's amazing on how far the game allows you to wander around after using wallmod on the chained door...like the game says: "ok, you cheeky cheating bastard, have fun witnessing Sherry's agonizing face t-pose of death.."
It's insane how sherry has an animation for climbing down (and probably up) the ladder even though she never climbs ladders, also, she has a grab animation and can probably throw grenades (ex. When she was standing in front of the zombie on the window you can see the player pulling out the grenade for a sec) And she has wet clothes even though she never leaves the orphanage, atleast not with a player controlling her.
Definitely would've been nice to have an extended play with her outside of the orphanage and she would have to dodge zombies and dogs like in the original.

Hard to say. I wish there was a way to see just how much content was cut from the final game. I know there were a few enemies and areas. Seems very possible that Ada and Sherry could have had more scenarios.

Hard to say. I wish there was a way to see just how much content was cut from the final game. I know there were a few enemies and areas. Seems very possible that Ada and Sherry could have had more scenarios.
going by how many animations there are for her and that everything stays rendered its likely there was a whole outside chase scene for her that was cut
@@freakyskull516 Perhaps. Or it could be a failsafe for Sherry's coding in case anything out of the ordinary happens. Like the game wouldnt crash trying to render Sherry's clothing in the rain.

I think the most interesting thing is that the zombies and sherry can interact. Sherry has no death animation but she has a zombie bite animation which is weird that they’d program that in.
Really helps me appreciate that there were no loading screens from one end to the other.
