I'm 71 yrs old and I have never forgotten being stalked. My girlfriend & I moved into an attic type suite that you entered up a large staircase at the back of the house, We were 21 yrs old and became so terrified of this man that we moved away to Mtl. He would purposely break in when her car wasn't there. He would leave red paint dripping on the door to look like blood, he would phone the house and have a clock ticking, he would go thru her underwear drawer and leave the panties on the bed, he was a nightmare. The cops told us to only enter the apt together. Finally it became too much; we were terrified of this man and we flew away to Montreal.......never found out who he was but I suspect he was connected to the landlord.

@@scootvirtual5609 or people just shouldn’t be stalking other people, period 😭😭😭 and if they do, they should be arrested for it. This scenario just encourages people that are victims of this heinous behavior have to do all of the work, instead of correcting and disciplining the people that are committing the crimes.
As someone who’s been stalked to the point of needing a police escort to my car/home, I can tell you right now they don’t give a shit. And to imply that I should go lobby my government for them to give a shit as if I don’t give a shit already, is laughable. Why would I go try (as one human being) to convince the same people that couldn’t help me in the past to change shit…
The only thing that has helped me is public humiliation and exposing the dangers of that person on social media. I also quit my job, moved to another state, got a new car and license plate, etc. Sometimes public humiliation and warning the general public around you of the dangers of that person is helping more For other potential victims, then Police ever give.

@@heidiespinoza6786 I once had a friend who fell in love with Keven Costner after she watched the film, "Dancing With Wolves." She created this fantasy in which they would get married and own a mansion together to take care of orphans. She ran a state-licensed daycare at the time, in which my son was placed. She had been recommended to me by a Head Start teacher at the elementary school across the road. After she lived in a duplex, placed security cameras inside and outside, acquired a loaded rifle, slept in her closet, and scared the hell out of me by threatening to burn down my family's home in a letter because she was extremely paranoid about her family placing her in psychiatric hold and taking her house from her. She was eventually diagnosed with Delusional Disorder in the mental health hospital into which she was involuntarily incarcerated. I had a stalker. I used to care for a neighborhood cat colony on a commercial property. He would watch me from the bike path, and come up behind me while i was caring for the cats. I'd go to the drugstore, he would show up. I confronted him, he said he was going out of town for contract work.
Then, for 3 years in a row, at totally different grocery stores, the day before Thanksgiving, he would creep up on me. Clearly, this was not coincidental. I was really, really spooked.
I had my mechanic put my car on a lift, and he found a tracker.

When I was younger I had a coworker obsessed with me. This video brought back scary memories but this poor girl was murdered. Guy I knew began texting me non stop and showing up to my house. When I asked him to stop he started parking across from my house. I called the police but he kept doing it. He was fired from the hospital we worked at, for an unrelated issue but still stalked. He wrote on my house door, left notes on my car and told a mutual friend he was going to rape and kill me. I moved to Colorado the following month but 15 yrs later I still worry. There's been a few ways he has tried to msg me over the yrs, the last time was almost one year ago. People can definitely be psycho. I had a friend once. She was intelligent, had a great job, married with 2 kids she adored and a great personality. We met in a class and became instant friends. Then things got weird, although it took a while. She started talking about a colleague - how there was this romantic vibe between them and then later a sexual tension. She would describe - in great detail - 1-minute encounters that would take her an hour to describe. I started to doubt that her feelings were being reciprocated. We would have lunch and the entire time was taken up by her description of, in reality, inconsequential encounters as filled with meaning: there were great longings between them; eyes across the room filled with longing on both their parts. Then she started describing him describing trips with his wife; going skiing with his wife; their purchase of a country property. In my mind, I realized that she was obsessed with someone who was making it clear that he was in love with his wife, not her. One day she called me hysterical and I met her! She was acting insane. I tried to talk her down that maybe the mutual attraction was all in her head. The long point I’m making is that I didn’t know her for a long time but at first I believed there was a mutual attraction. And then all the evidence she presented were a 20-second encounter here, a glance there. Alarmingly, I had to convince her NOT to talk about her feelings to him as she thought that they were both fighting the urge to consummate their “relationship”. There was no relationship, only her obsession, I realized. When I realized this and tried to gently dissuaded from doing anything stupid that would ruin many lives like the action above, she dumped me. I never heard and from her again. Obviously she couldn’t talk to her co-workers, as Jason did: she was a high-level person in her job. I probably was the only person she could vent to. I consider myself a discerning person but I really thought, at first, that the infatuation was mutual. It was truly scary watching her obsession grow.. And even more scary when she was a brick wall when I tired to provide other theories to the man’s actions: he obviously was - gently - trying to send messages he wasn’t interested! What was worse is that she used me and I didn’t see it, at first. I learned a good lesson over that time.

There needs to be much more information out there about stalking and the different kinds of stalkers. I can't tell you from experience, that not even close to enough people truly understand how awful and dangerous it is. So many stalking victims do not get much help, if any at all. People generally don't even want to hear about it, much less step in and help. The cops don't do enough either. All this adds to the awfulness. A very high percentage of women who have been killed by men were stalked beforehand. I know that men get stalked as well, but far less than women. I truly hope that people take it more seriously when they hear that a friend or loved one is being stalked

The brain is formed during critical growth periods of the developmental life span from womb to tomb. Those growth periods are most numerous during fetal and early childhood development. So, exposure to external and internal concentrations of environmental toxins, like high levels of cortisol mediating the trauma of domestic violence during and after pregnancy and child abuse and neglect have profound effects down the road. Dysfunctional epigenetic lifestyle patterns of interpersonal behavior are taught and learned across generations. So, without some kind of intervention at the individual level, a weird young kid will probably end up as a weird adult who is shunned and then isolated from his/her peers (e.g., 1994 Fairchild AFB shooter Airman Dean Mellberg). Ted Bundy is a prime example of someone who looked like a so-called "Chad" in adulthood but was absolutely not. Unfortunately, too often civilian hiring managers and military recruiters interviewing commissioned and non-commissioned job candidates confuse dark tetrad traits as indicators of self-confident leadership characteristics. From watching these types of crimes, filing a restraining order just seems to ramp up the violent behavior and further aggravate the perpetrator. :( What a sad story this was.

I have a couple of questions:
    1. Dr Grande says that several men were pursuing Morgan. Given that Morgan had a boyfriend, this means several guys were transgressing her boundaries. Were I in her position, I would find this quite anxiety-provoking. Is this a common problem for pretty women? If so, does this influence how they perceive guys?
    2. I also wonder - did Morgan's employer address Jason's behaviour? What are the employer's legal and ethical obligations in this case?

Speaking as a former pretty girl in high school, I was hit on a lot and I can count several occasions when peers or even older coworkers (men in their twenties when I was only 16-17) were inappropriate with me and while yes it did make me uncomfortable, I was too shy to say or do anything until one day when I was at school preparing for an event our Spanish class was putting on, a boy cornered me in a closet and sexually assaulted me. To this day it haunts me. There’s also a man who I used to be friends with (before he became weird) that used to be fairly normal, as he got older he started having really bad hygiene and so people eventually stopped interacting with him and I think he just became lonely, but for the last 5-10 ish years he has made various fake Instagram accounts occasionally messaging me and telling me awful things, all anonymously but I knew it was him. How he would follow me in the hallways at school and collect any of my hairs that fell out and put them in his pants, how when I got married his fantasies got even better because I was married to someone else, asking to pay me for pictures of my body, being creepy on pictures on my social media where my feet are in the picture. I haven’t heard from him in probably about a year now, and I was friends with him in highschool roughly 10 years ago but didn’t have contact with him after that and yet he’s still looming in the background. He’s done this to multiple previous coworkers of mine because we worked in the same building just for a different business. Scary. It definitely makes me worried about other men. Worried when I start dating men (I got divorced, it just didn’t work out for me) that they will end up being creepy. I’m definitely hyper vigilant of men and advances towards me.

Because I have been trained and educated in Basic and Advanced Leadership in the US military, have been assessed as a Transformational Servant Leader over the course of my MPH, and have years of experience as a supervisor, etc., I may be able to help you and Dr. Grande out with your questions. In answer to Q1: Yes. Yes. In answer to Q2: I do not know. So, Dr. Grande may be able to answer that one for you. However, the FedEx Human Resources Department should have already had a legal and ethical no tolerance policy for sexual harassment on and off the job site in either cases of a) a quid pro quo relationship between a subordinate and a superior or b) a pervasively hostile work environment. However, the problem with claiming quid pro quo in this case is that there was no imbalance of power, since she did nothing to check his career advancement and had previously befriended him as new colleague. He did create a hostile work environment for her in going through her unlocked and unattended cell phone messages and pictures with a coworker and in making her feel uncomfortable by spreading rumors amongst her friends and coworkers that the two of them were in some kind of an intimate sexual relationship when she already had a baby daughter and a boyfriend. Thus, he was attempting to ruin her otherwise good reputation, possibly to drive away his rivals in making her look less desirable to them. Of course, being a jerk in doing so would make her disgusted with him. She blocked him. He could not take her justifiable reaction to his gross behavior. So, in his deluded state, he killed her. It reminds me of The Doobie Brothers lyrics to "What a Fool Believes."

This murderous creep is a detestable person. He behaved in an obsequious way in the hope of advancing his sick obsession focused upon Morgan and later her daughter. I do not know what type of text messages and photos were on Morgan's cell phone but they obviously piqued his lustful thoughts about her. Sexually suggestive content in the evil mind of an intimacy stalker is a motivation to kill in a total lack of empathy and remorse. Pornography just fuels the fire to possess the object of his desire. His prison sentence could not be long enough for me. Yes. Women can be capable of this mindset too. The hideous character played by Glenn Close in the film "Fatal Attraction" and by the dark character played by Jessica Walter in the film "Play Misty for Me" are prime examples.
