I saw this Britcom in the early 90s when I'd visit my dad in another part of my state, he had a different PBS station than I did and this aired on that. I never did see how it ended. Now I can!
"Can the mark survive?", mentions of the then only theoretical Channel Tunnel, and a memorial for Margaret Thatcher are oddly fascinating, aren't they?

Also interesting the references to the "western world" and the assumption that the Soviet Union would still exist.
i was expecting this to be really bad but its not. its got some nice lines in it and the familiar cast makes it even better. gordon kayes part was really funny. the actors from it aint half hot mum are just like their characters they play in that. same with mollie sugden, its just really mrs slocombe. jeremy lloyd and david croft are two of the best sitcom writers ever.
Well, here we go, another Brit comedy to check out. I've been on a quest to seek them all out. Here in the States, we only get the "biggies" like "Are you being served" or "Keeping up appearances"; so one has to be proactive to find the shows that were never shown here. I just recently finished watching "Hi-Dee-Hi", "Curry & Chips", and "Love thy neighbor". Great laughs....... but I fell in love with Gladys Pugh, and had to overdose on Spike Milligan to snap me out of my trance. Alright Mollie, here I come!!! LOL!!!!! Brit Comedy Rules!!!!!
Ruth Madoc certainly was a charmer in that show. I have a deep respect for her ability to stick to her roots on the stage and shun TV afterwards; but what a great loss to those of us unable to see her performances. I unfortunately lost interest in Hi-De-Hi quite quickly after the departure of Simon Cadell. It always appeared as if the writers were scrambling to cover up the loss with a non-stop assault of bad jokes and over-used cliches....... As for the video here; I was not very impressed, and after a few episodes, walked away never to return.
33 years into the future, but with the values of the 1970's!! But I will be 76 in 2050 and it's strange to think that Mrs Noah is probably younger than me!!
Its usually regarded as one of the worst British sitcoms ever along with one her AYBS co star John Inman was in around the same time called Odd Man Out
@@pedanticradiator1491 I've heard that too. A reputation that's a bit undeserved, especially considering we live in the same universe that produced "Little Britain" which was somehow regarded favorably 🤷♂️. It's cheesy & low brow but enjoyable on it's own standards, kind of like "Allo Allo".
Fjccommish- PISC is funny as it sounds very much like a word rhyming with "miss" when you go to the bathroom! "Nice tie" is funny as its not what you expect a reporter to say on a news bulletin, commenting on the newsreaders attire. *Jasmines explain-a-joke service*
Interesting how the audience laughter captures, typifies actually the British lack of self-confidence in the 20th. Century, at the very moments the programme was accurately predicting the fall of the Deutsch Mark, and the Channel Tunnel, (if not it's graffitti). Very funny.
This has been panned as a terrible sitcom but I like it, its eccentric and watchable. I like how Donald and Michael are playing themselves or as in You Rang M Lord. The future seen in 70s/80s eyes today is funny. I love the computer that shoots out items you want of food and gets it wrong! Michael Knowles is dishy and elegant even in a bad 80s hotel room colour beige jumpsuit.
alot of noted actors, gordon kaye, robert gillispe, two guys from aint half hot mum etc think ive seen less funny comedies from the early 70s that never made it to tv
Why would "PISC" be funny? Why would "nice tie" be funny? It seems they didn't have any real work for the laugh track, so they played it for random lines.
The person controlling the laughter track gave up after the first scene and just randomly played it when it was guessed things might be funny. A slightly below average sitcom. Hewlett and Knowles playing the same characters they always play. Ian Lavender proving why he’s not one of the best comedy actors of his generation, Gorden Kaye proving why he was, and poor old Molly doing the hard yards on some poor lines.
This is currently being discussed as the worst sitcom ever. I haven't really seen it , and for me it will always be Up The Elephant Round The Castle. Surprised this is Lloyd and Croft. The Top Ten will be classified as Shitcoms !

Love seeing the actors from "You Rang M'Lord!"
Totally classic and brilliant

I`ve never seen this before. Thank you for the upload
Never heard of this before ! Mentioned in Viz !
Mrs Slocombe goes to space

It´s a running gag that Mollie Sugden´s characters have problems with elevators. Are You Being Served, Grace & Favour, and this.

+Whiskey River (Doc) Waiting for God is my fave///Britcoms rule
Many a fellow lost his head over Gladys Pugh back in the day.

the Doctor series is good schtuff
Whiskey River would love to get a Brit list of comedy tv shows from you to check out. I'm getting into Gimme Gimmie Gimme, but need others. Thx
Wow the laugh track is out of control on this show but I still love cheesy scifi.
Im a big fan of british comedy of this era.. lovely to see Pike from Dads army and Slocombe from Are you being served in diffrent roles.
But Col Reynolds and Capt Ashwood from 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum' in the same roles...
I liked the scenes where Mrs. Noah got dressed for bed, and the automatic chicken.
I call this Mrs Slocombe in Outer Space.
Remember this when it was broadcast at the time
This aired all of once in America, to give us a break from Are You Being Served, which was being run into the ground at the time.
anything with Mollie Sugden can't be all bad....

Donald Hewlett & Michael Knowles playing exactly the same parts as they did in 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum'
Dear, dear Mollie Sugden.
How funny! Doesn't the mobile camera remind you of K-9?
i miss this
the interviewer was our Hyacinth's alarm dude
and the news anchor was Renee Atois (Gorden Kaye)
Chris Ott.. He was rather more famous as Private Pike in.Dads Army
This is hilarious, why isn't this on DVD?
thanks, The Nerdist. it's real... funny.
I love the presence of Donald Hewlett and Michael Knowles, they sound as if they are WWII pilots.
Love our dear Molly lass.
You should this wasn't written by Renwick and Marshall?
I've always read the Come Back Mrs. Noah was known for being one of the worst shows ever. I've only watched this first ep, but I enjoyed it.
Thumbs up if you're here because of Pointless
Here's my thumbs up
Poinless?

So Funny,typical british
Listen very carefully I will read the news only once
Unfortunately the technology was very basic, so it does look very much like a kids puppet show at times..It only lasted 6 episodes
Shall I be mother?
oh the things you men can do nowadays!
