My mom, God rest her, bought me the 45 rpm single of this for a birthday present when I was about 12 or 13 or so. It was split into parts 1 and 2 on each side, so continuity wasn’t really possible, but this video is fantastic. Great job, and thanks for bringing back a lovely memory for me.
This goes back to my father's days of visiting Kenan Stadium. I particularly appreciate featuring Choo Choo Justice, who was the Tar Heels' All-American in Andy's student days.
What it was was football by Andy Griffith funny and hilarious 😂 about my favorite NFL teams from the early 90s Atlanta Falcons Dallas Cowboys Houston Oilers Los Angeles Raiders and Los Angeles Rams
In the first few episodes of the Andy Griffith Show, he told stories to Opie in this cornpone style. Then they changed his style to make him basically the smartest man in town.
What is this? Where's the cussin'? Where's the dirty part of the story? Why would I want to enjoy this and believe that it's funny without perversion!?
Hildy Baby go and get yourself a good boyfriend, when you are positive he is a good man, ask him to marry you, have children and be happy. Spectator sports, bah humbug.
I LOVED this. Have heard it many times and always tried to visualize it, and I think you captured it perfectly. Big thumbs up and what all.
He is-was-and will always be an original the likes we may never see again.
This video speaks for itself....
Just discovered this gem. My daddy loved Andy Griffith and football. GRHS. This was one of our all time favorites. Brings back good memories!
Andy is a GREAT & funny entertainer... Thank you Andy, I will always appreciate the entertainment you have left us with...

Thanks for the memories, Andy. You will be missed. RIP, old friend.
Well friend, this is Andy Griffith comedy, and that's about all's I can say about it, but to sit down and have a listen.
Absolutely awesome! I love the original source material...play it every Kickoff Saturday. Great to see it visualized...and done well to-boot! Thanks!
That was lovely. This is one of my favorites and you did it justice.
Andy Griffith was also a high school teacher here in my hometown of Goldsboro, NC before he started acting in The Lost Colony on the NC coast.
This will live forever.
Thank you Andy for this great routine, and thank you Doctor Demento for frequently playing this gem for us!
And nice work on the video, Eat A Peach!
Thanks Andy for the laughs!

I've been looking for this clip for a long time. Finally found it.
Sounds great to me! (Must have been fixed.) Thanks so much for this great memory!
This film was made in 1997. The original recording was done in 1953.
Eat a Peach Pictures???? Love it, who are you?? Thanks! RIP, Sheriff & Justice of the Peace & Pa.
This is inspired! Thank you for creating such a great visual for this classic tale.

This is great; must've been a lot of fun to make. Well done.
To all the people wondering who "visualized" this, this is the original film made by Andy Griffith himself. It wasn't made in 2009.
Good job!
So good
i believe the audio was recorded at a radio station W C P K in College Park Ga.
say hello to Otis, Barney, Aunt Bea and Ernest T for us in heaven Andy...
This is very funny. According to the end credits, it was done in 1997.
Wardrobe was spot on. Well done.
this is GREAT! The video compliments the original soundtrack very well and I appreciate the effort. Done anything with "No TIme for Sergeants?"
RIP Andy

Someday if I ever become a Couch Potato like you Hildy, I may understand. No offense meant. Take it as its meant, with a grin.

Well said - sadly the neanderthal majority gave you so many comments the comment is hidden. You got my thumbs up.
Fortunately for us, your understanding is not required.
GO TAR HEELS! (Andy Griffith as a UNC cheerleader)
Andy Griffith was born in 1926, and this was released in 1953, so he wouldn't have been 24.
this and jerry clower still entertain me.
Me...anytime I see a football game. 😀
👏👏👏
RIP andy
what's up with the dumb digital delay on the audio?
Who recreated this? It's very well done.
Great work! Now if only you could fix the sound!!!
Cheers Tim, I never did have a lot of respect for the majority who tried to bamboozle me.
It's a great little film, but you should fix the sound and re-post it!
Andy Griffith was 27 in 1953, not 24.
In 1997, the monologue was made into a short film.[5] WIKIPEDIA
?
oh they let him back in...for Andy's sake. :)
I know they couldn't eat it because they kicked it the whole evening and it never busted.
Just me? No, it's the hundreds of millions of people worldwide who watch spectator sports. I think that counts as "us".

Must be UNC vs NC State
Why do people always say; us, and ours, and we, instead of what it is which is I.

It was the pretty girls with the really short dresses a-daincin’ around, and the guy that said “buddy have a drank.”
