The "Bean Sandwich" at the end brought a tear to my eye. We were pretty low income back in the day and I've learned some pretty cool trailer park style recipes from my buddies back in the mid '80s. Fried SPAM and onion sandwiches, microwave french toast (butter, sugar, cinnamon on white bread 30 secs in the microwave). You guys brought it all back with that simple sandwich. Thanks.

Definitely making this , Bacon and baked beans is a match made in heaven . I like how he makes a bean sandwich at the end and puts tomato ketchup on it . I do that all the time with my full English breakfast and bread .

I boil my own navy beans (I prefer navy....they're smaller than great northern). I just wash them really well and soak for 8 to 24 hours. Drain and rinse again as often as you like. Once they are all plumped up, I cover them with fresh cold water and bring to a boil. Stir and reduce to a simmer for an hour or 2. When they split a little and break easy, they're done. No salt while they cook. You can add salt to taste later when you make the recipe .

OK, another recipe I've got to try!
Guys, want a suggestion? Set this one up, exactly like you did,
except put it on a lower shelf in your smoker. And, put a pork
butt above it, or some spares.
Use a disposable aluminum pan, instead of that cast iron one.
You can even fry up the bacon and onions in the disposable pan.
I know, because I've done it.
As always, keep the good stuff coming!

I have cooked this two day straight now and think I can live on it. That said even though I work with food by selling meat. I simply cooking a can of baked beans in tomato sauce with some spices like paprica powder, estragon, cili and some more and yesterday I added diced pork neck and today lambsausage. Served with some home baked bread with butter on top.
