This song is timeless. I believe it shows beauty, pain, hope, struggle, strength, uncertainty, courage... within our own lives and to the people we effect / interact with but also in this world around us.
Yes, your comment summarizes it really well. This song transcends the musical scope. It feels like a journey through one's life, and I particularly can't help but get teary eyes when the ending section hits. Truly a magnificent piece of art
Aaron Marshall sure is one of the most tasteful players in modern prog/djent. His tone and his note choice for leads are friggin' cool. One thing which I hate from the Djent scene is that 90% of the guitarists that I've heard aren't good at leads, and most of them relies on the simpleminded "off-time chugs" in order to be faux "prog", while Aaron takes the typical tropes from djent but he actually progifies those tropes, and with those fusion-y leads and chords changes, it sure makes for original songwriting.
IMO, Aaron's chugging riffs are rhythmically and tonally incomparably worse than the greats in the genre. They just feel lifeless and repetitive to me. I feel his latest band member change up and latest release both reflect that.
Aaron's come quite the distance since this was recorded. And this was GOOD shit. I remember watching this video and stuff like Alchemy, wanting to play like that more than anything.
Man I miss my 2127z, that guitar was a beast, I just got the Jackson ET7 and I have only like 10 hours play time on it so far but I think the 2127z Prestige was the jackpot, I had that guitar he's using for like 7 years then traded it in ;(
I've listened to these guys before and didn't get too into them but had a lot of respect for Aaron Marshall as a guitarist. Had to check them out again & I'm glad I did. Real awesome song structure on this.
Aaron this piece shows your skills playing guitar but the feelings you bring to the listener shows above all and without a doubt that you are a great composer. I sincerely thank you.
i heard of this band just nw and was checking their vdos this was the first vdo i hit...only on thing to say to the dude playing this...."RESPECT"...JUST LOVED THIS..
I can almost imagine 3:00 - 3:12 being a scene from 50 - 100 years in the future, I can see little white specs against the buildings that look a little like flying cars :)
I don't understand why people do "guitar play through" videos if their guitar isn't plugged in. completely defeats the whole purpose for me. that being said, this is absolutely amazing!
Justin Murray this is like a music video. 99.9% of music videos feature pre-recorded audio. Plugging his guitar in would be strictly for aesthetic purposes.
I was watching this really late at night last night and I guess I fell asleep through it. I woke up and my laptop had fallen off my bed and this page was still open. I guess that's just how beautiful this song is haha.
You know whats better than tabs? A play-through by one of the musicians in this band, with videos of their hands and the fretboard. I'm waiting for that!
The definition of inetria is: the tendency of a body to preserve its state of rest or uniform motion unless acted upon by an external force. So instead of not being able to move, it's either going to stay until something pushes/pulls it, or will keep moving until something interferes with its motion, (gravity, friction, etc)
It´s an Ibanez RGD2127Z. It´s around 1200 Euros. If you are interested in the fixed bridge version, its called the RGD2127FX. This model is released a couple months ago. Its priced at 1100 Euros. I personally bought the RGD2127FX when it was released. No regrets whatsoever. Brilliant guitar.
"Even if you are a canadian Aaron, Your a hell of a musician that inspires me daily" Is him being Canadian something that would make him less of a musician? You worded that quite poorly. Also, you're*
It sounds very original to me also and i would pay for this. There's no reason to be saying things like "i dont know why anyone would EVER pay for this", its just disrespectful. Alot of other people enjoy intervals music so if you dont like it go make your own music, dont bash other musicians. All musicians should help each other out and show support.
This song helped me through a oxycontin addiction. I'll always love this song.

I totally agree you sure are awake!
Yes, your comment summarizes it really well. This song transcends the musical scope. It feels like a journey through one's life, and I particularly can't help but get teary eyes when the ending section hits. Truly a magnificent piece of art
He sits above us all; and he doesn't need a guitar cable to deliver us such awesome music. All rise for Intervals!!
he can play it all live :) marshall got me into guitar in 2010

+Roderick Peterson I agree. Didnt know djent could be so great until i heard bands like Intervals and Monuments.
+Roderick Peterson Could you imagine a collaboration between him and Andy James ?
OG Haze That would be nasty.
+Roderick Peterson ...yep....

На фоне облачного городского пейзажа, особенно красиво воспринимается эта музыка .

I miss Toronto. Such good times in the music scene. So much hidden talent.
The whole track is great, but especially the last couple of minutes. Majestic and heavy at the same time and soooo melodic. Love it.
All I can say is incredible. You play amazing and the song puts me in a great mood. This song expresses a lot of emotion and color.
Aaron Marshall My guitar hero, beyond what Vai and Satch did for me...yet way younger than me. Congrats on winning music :)

Xigza D there’s shitloads of great young modern guitarists. Most of them are in the prog rock and prog metal genres though.

"Even if you are a canadian Aaron, Your a hell of a musician that inspires me daily"
Is him being Canadian something that would make him less of a musician? You worded that quite poorly.

Beautiful song.
Thanks so much for offering it for free. It's hard to find good progressive music.
Guitar goals.
I like this so much more than all the new instrumental pop songs he's writing now.
