I'm 14 and I'm just starting to take proper care of my curly hair. I have 3b hair. I was wondering what products you recommend for after the shower besides coconut oil .
Thanks for that. I had ringlets when I was younger and now that my hair is thicker and I'm like 11 years older than I was, it's mostly wavy and it's ruined my confidence. My curly hair was a huge part of who I was when I was 5. I loved my curls. And it kinda hurts seeing people say "your hair isn't curly it's wavy" to people who have a similar hair type as me. Like why does it even matter all that much. Wavy is a form of curl just looser. Just like coily is a curl but tighter. I mean think about it, does it make sense to exclude a curl type from being classified as curly just cause it's looser or tighter than your typical curl. Curls come in so many different types, and the curl chart we have currently doesn't even cover all of them (For reference my hair looks similar to the girls hair at 4:55) I'm trying to accept that my hair is wavy and appreciate it for what it is though. I still think it's pretty, but I'd prefer to have curly hair like how yours is. You have a gorgeous curl pattern
I spent 60 years with frizzy hair. Covid sequester gave me 5 months to not straighten it and now I have really nice curls. I love it but I’m old and wish I had more hair.
Yesssss I’m so happy that I actually have a wave/curle pattern because I tried a curly hair routine on my hair once and one of my friends told me I for sure have straight hair and it was only the products and routine that made my hair wavy/ curly 🥺
Hi! So I personally have fairly straight hair, but my beautiful baby girl apparently inherited the most gorgeous set of goldilock curls from some or other distant relative. She is currently 2 and a half years old. I really want to teach her from this young age how to love her curly hair. Have been watching some random youtube algorithm videos in the past have taught me that curly hair needs a whole lot of different attention compared to my straight hair, so I started doing some more research. Definitely need to learn a lot more, but really appreciating your content a lot!!
Thank you, this was the kindest react video I've seen so far. I have been astounded at the level of toxicity in the curly community (that I was completely oblivious to until recently). You actually kicked off my curly journey (your CGM critique video!) so I'm glad I found you before I found any of the people who love to gatekeep.
My mother has straight hair, my father had curls (he's bald now), and I personallyI went through six phases of realisation: 1) I have my mom's hair with an occasional wavy part from my dad 2) I have wavy hair 3) My hair looks like a bush when I brush it 4) Why do I have so much frizz? Also what is that ringlet curl doing there? 5) I might happen to have very dry curly hair I'm waiting for whatever comes next, hopefully it's some form of curls because that would at least explain my hair's behaviour. Anyway, your videos are helping me a lot, thanks!
Hey.... M in love with ur videos !!!!! Plz consider making a video on how to maintain definition in humidity ..... Humidity here is runing my curl pattern.
I’m in desperate need of hair guidance!! When I was younger my hair was super silky and held curls like most the girls in the vid but over time my hair started to sort of frizz out. I still had curls but just undefined. Then about 2 years ago the back part of my hair just stopped holding curls in general. I’ve tried tons of products but it’s my hair seems sort of in a way heat damaged even though I only straighten my hair once a year. I bleach it 3 years ago but it was only on the top layer of my hair. Any suggestions on how to save my hair or should I just shave it and start new. (Btw I’m mixed between Asian and Black and I have SUPER thick hair)
I really think you should try a bond repair and strengthener like olaplex 3 (it's not a conditioner, it repairs the disulphide bonds in the hair - you use it on non-built up hair then shampoo it out, then condition). And do lots of deep conditioning with some protein. I'm of Indian origin, and I knew that Indians have bushy hair which we train into submission, trying to get it straight, but I didn't realise how curly it was until I did the curly girl method and stopped brushing it out, blasting it with a hair dryer etc etc. Deep conditioning was the transformative thing for me. You're bound to have super curly hair, maybe deep conditioning once a week will make the difference? Perhaps you already do that though? Anyway, before you big chop, try a bond strengthener - Olaplex 3 is the classic one but curlsmith have a new one which is cheaper per ounce though I've not used it. They're supposed to repair damage - and then deep condition regularly? Good luck ❤
So can we have an in-depth tutorial on application techniques for diff products (for curly newbies)? And a tutorial on that fab eyeshadow look you're rocking?
The girl at 9:00 was pretty much doing almost exactly what I still do and I’m always complaining that I have no volume. I’m definitely going to have to make some changes. Might check in later if I have good results.
Can you please do a video of styling techniques and how to style because I stopped straightening my curly hair 6 months ago and now just trying to use proper products to do protein and moisture balance. some of the ways that those girls were applying product is how I apply product and I am completely lost in the styling department!
Basically, I saw that second t-shirt and followed it exaxtly except I didn't have any curling products. My hair curled a lot! So now I'm wondering what curling hair product I should try with this technique!
My hair always ends up stringy when I put anything in it at all. I make sure to rake in the product carefully as wet as I can. I also scrunch out the crunch but it always feels sticky and terrible
I'm 13 and when I was really little my hair was dead straight then I got older and I became really curly. but it was extremely damaged and frizzy. I've chopped off a few inches and I've decided to start taking care of my hair properly.
I'm trying to wear my hair natural (1 year now) but it's still a bit frizzy and it doesn't curl always in the same place (sometimes it's just wavy/frizzy) and my mom always tells me "did you at least brush it? It's so messy!"
My sister has beautiful curly hair but does nothing to it. I keep asking her if I can do something to it and she keeps saying no. Maybe one dat she’ll style her hair
Same! Mine still ends up curling a little bit in the end, but by the time it’s dry it’s more of a wave. I know my hair has so much more capability to be curly but it’s just so thick that it can’t get there
i dont have a thing that straightens my hairr so its just FUZZY. since i've seen these i've been wanting to ask my mom to buy theses to see if i have curly hair
Aussi has some really great products! Even if they aren’t specifically for curly hair it’ll still work! I would also recommend investing in some either large T-shirts or microfiber towels, which will help you be able to scrunch your hair without letting it get frizzy. Also watch a video on how to plop your hair like they did in the video. This will help you get even more curl definition. And if you want you can also get a diffuser that you can put on your blow dryer, which basically helps dry your hair if you have curly hair. Also only brush it out when you’re in the shower, and don’t brush it out after you get out so it can really keep that curl definition.
Curly Girl facebook groups are full of new people with genetically straight hair who mistakenly believe that using curly hair products and techniques will give them curly hair

I’m obviously aware my hair is not extremely curly or coiled but I do believe I have 2b and maybe 2c right in the back of my head
Yeah I have the same curl pattern as you. Just the front pieces around my face are almost between 2a-2b
