      @@TomJones-zm3kz obviously you are a white male unaware of the social climate in america today. There aren't many "legal" black millionaires in the united states, so when you come across two of them, using a platform to spread knowledge, and they are of color (black), there is nothing wrong with pointing out their appearance. It's amazing. When Magic talks, I just genuinely want to listen and I could listen for hours. And I didn't grow up in his era. I'm 21, I wasn't around with the Showtime Lakers. But there's something about a person with so much wisdom and so much influence with such an inviting aura and so much charisma that makes you truly want to be there and experience what he has to tell you. And there's not a lot of people that can do that for me. He's truly "Magic".

    • @marer1000
      @marer1000 6 років тому +23

      @Tommy Walker If you were intelligent you would listen to enough successful people and they all say the same, making your first million is just as hard as making your first 10 million/100 million. If I were to judge your intelligence, it would be "I'll go nowhere in life/10".

    • @scarsofzsasz
      @scarsofzsasz 6 років тому +27

      @@marer1000 Yea. To expound on that, in this particular context he's saying that at this point in his position, he has millions of dollars to invest, and only a limited amount of time. The time you put into a business deal is roughly the same whether you're risking a million or twenty million, you still do your homework on the details, weigh the pros, potential ROI, etc. So he's saying for people to stop asking him about 100k investments when at this stage he's more into doing 100 mil investments.

    Magic is truly the king of LA IMO. Saw him jogging early in the morning near Beverly Hills a few years ago and people were saying hi to him and he was being nice and saying hi right back...wasn't "too busy" or pretended not to notice, but engaged with the people. It's no surprise that he's been so successful throughout his life and hasn't let basketball define him though it was the platform that introduced him to the world. Some may claim Kobe or now LJ is the king, but it'll always be Magic who runs this town.

As i began to scroll down I stopped myself thought, Not everyone is going to like what you do or like. Sometimes they just can't, understand. This was Dope!

    This was so well done! Lots to soak up and take in. I especially liked that Magic made the decision early to ignore his fellow players and continue building a relationship with Jerry Bus, because he knew that was where he wanted to eventually end up! Also incredibly motivating to see two brothers chopping it up about business moves.

    We took a group of kids to see the movie Birth of a Nation. We took them to a Magic Johnson Theatre in Harlem. When we were leaving and we heard 2 young people talking and they said to themselves..."Who is Magic Johnson?" We realized that they never saw Magic the ball player. They will only know the business ventures that bear his name. And they were impressed with that.

      Hello...tell that to those who hold the race card like a badge of honor and an entitlement. Turn the pain into fuel not self destructive hate. Time to be about the business. Capitalism does not have a color. It is proven...somebody will give you a chance. You only need one chance. The failures pack significant lessons you can't learn anywhere else. Even if it takes 99 closed doors. U only need to prepare for one open door. Can we say Kentucky fried chicken? Does it really matter the reason the 80 doors were never open?? Just saying...

      @@dahulkters1 Can't be racist because it "doesn't affect his income and social standing"? You may want to look up the definition of racism. I'm not "butt hurt", I feel bad for you. Whether you want to term it racism or prejudice, you are clearly categorizing people according to their race. You're referring to "white people" as some category instead of judging individuals within that group by the content of their character. Race is a very secondary thing for me. You can change my race and you won't change my character or my spirit. It's sad that you focus so much on race and categorizing people that way. Let me tell you, no "white person" will lose sleep over your thoughts or words. You are mostly affecting your own life with that perspective. Magic Johnson rose above race and wasn't too prejudice to accept help from people like Jerry Buss. Would you even be able to work with "white people" the way Magic does? You're only hurting yourself.
