I love when he says "Like when I first saw you." That was great. You hardly ever hear Karl turn it back on those two! Great!
There are compilation videos of Karl taking the piss out of Stephen's appearance (and his notorious stinginess, as if Karl isn't a notorious scrooge himself), and they are GOLD.
The best part is that he probably didn't even intend it as banter. In his head he was probably just makin' an observation

"Just because he's amazing." The way Carl says this is just so wonderful. And it shows how Carl is so full of humanity and love. To the world, Pillow Man was a useless freak. Yet, Carl sees people like Pillow Man, people with disabilities, as "amazing." Bless Carl. He's just the pinnacle of humanity, empathy, a spokesman for uniqueness. I wish more people were like him.

Karl has been making me laugh for a decade, and has made millions of other people happy too. I would say he has purpose.
My favourite parts of these podcasts are when Karl gets into character for a second and he's in the world like when he compares pillow man to the bearded woman and tells her to get out the office
I don't know why Karl feels he isn't needed. The dude is hilarious. Without him this show would be horrible.

I love this because as an autistic person I've experienced a small amount of bullying and being rejected by society. Karl doesn't pander down to people, he still calls them freaks, but unlike Ricky would, he calls them amazing, he sees their worth, they were born in very difficult times but made the most of what they had.
