I’m interested to see your completed rice bag. I have made a few traditional Komebukuro (Japanese rice bag), I like to do Boro pieces and construct the bag.
I recently returned from a 3-1/2 week trip to Japan and purchased quite a number of fabrics along with a Kimono and 2 Obi. They are quite heavy so I have sea mailed them back home. Sea mail was 1/2 the price of air mail and I’m not desperate for the fabrics. I also collected Eki stamps in a special book, I also took with me some white fabric and put some of the stamps on the fabric as I want to make a Komebukuro using the Eki stamp fabrics so I have this reminder of my trip.
I also started up a UA-cam channel very recently, I have a few videos plus I will be making my Japanese trip memory Komebukuro into a video to share.

That’s a great idea! I’m so excited to hear about your Japanese trip and all the fabrics you purchased! You must have had such a wonderful time. Sounds like the sea mail option was the best way to receive your lovely purchases.
