From my point of view BT3 in the ultimate attacks has more impact, but it is because of sound effects. I have no idea why, but the impact is higher, the explosion.
I feel like the impact is generally lacking, and I hate the explosion effects on the beams. my only worry about this game is that it's marketed on the special moves, but this isn't what made the game great in bt3, it was the multiple mechanics and hand to hand combat that made it so great, and I fear it won't be as deep as bt3
You know I actually don’t get why they moved away from the original style of transformation in the tenkaichi with button inputs and to the raging blast D pad style I never liked that it clutters the screen with more Ui and it’s takes away from the feeling of actually doing something especially with fusion like you’re actually doing the dances. Instead of pulling up a small screen and just selecting it. Plus I feel like it’s quicker then pulling up a screen and choosing by the time you choose is already put in the input to transform if you know it already.
I feel the same as you, as someone who likes bt3 But i can understand the reason they did it It’s because some of characters has too many forms(like goku) And you know that it’s a little bit confusing when you need to change into specific form I do get confused sometimes when i had to figure it out which’s direction of L analog i should go,to get the form i want And it took me for awhile to understand how to trigger fusion button And now it’s sparking zero that include dragonball super Goku has too many color forms It’s impractical if you have to be blind and trigger transform button For me it looks weird af When they use 3D model for characters UI And even in character selecting lobby It looks so bad for me It just feels too stiff I think using 2D image has more charm
The damage numbers for Tenkaichi 4 are insanely high, most shown here are in the 20k range, I hope we can have more health bars than in 3 to endure a little bit longer

I see a lot of comments claiming that the abilities in BT3 look more close to the source material than sparking zero….. Are we even watching the same anime 😅? BT3 was a great game but let’s not pretend that the effects were over exaggerated and were way overdone compared to the original anime. Sparking zero looks more closely to the source material and its visuals are a lot cleaner and less convoluted with flashing lights and effects filling up the whole screen. And just the add, the smoke cloud after an ability in sparking zero is CLASSIC dbz fashion.
What they mean is the beams radiate way more light in BT3. That is Anime accurate, Kamehameha's in the Anime made the sky dark because of the amount of light it radiates. Everything around would look white/blue because of the light. Besides that, the beams just sound louder and have more impact in BT3 which makes it so much more satisfying.
Tbh, I prefer the frenetic battles from bt3 instead of ultra-processed images and excessive 2d special effects with slow movements. And don't misunderstand me, therea tons of beautiful things in this sparking zero and also I love they use more sounds of the classic library but still the game lacks of emotion. Also, the BT3 ost is a chef kiss. Love it
I just wish that some of the attacks had more oomph to them. Remove the clouds and bring back the sound effects and white flash. Energy attacks feel too quick and melee combination attacks feel too slow.

After playing Sparking Zero for a few days, the game is what we have wished for. The only things BT3 did better are SOME of the rush attacks and the beam impacts. Ki Super attacks don't feel powerful AT ALL. They are small, not flashy and really quiet. They have no impact at all compared to BT3. If they would fix this somehow, then the game would be a straight 10/10.
For those wondering why Sparking Zero doesn't seem to have the same impact and intensity as BT3, it's all in the higher framerates (which makes everything too smooth), and slower camera shakes on impact animations. They used to jitter much quicker and intensely (coupled with more brutal sound fx), so even through most gamers prefer faster framerates and less camera shaking, it generally doesn't translate well for anime based games.

@@Codyslx Really? I'm surprised the developers haven't patched something like that. Though, they went back and forth on whether or not you could evasive out of Dragon Fist a good 2-3 times, so I guess it's the same deal here.
Peak Comparison.
thank you my friend
Yeah sparking zero is nothing verses bt3
@@Mr.sigma3044 sure thing mr sigma 3044
@@falcon_64 hm
it looks amazing af but i hope they add more hits or movements to the goku's meteor attacks, feels like its missing something
New game looks fantastic and I love most of it. I'd do like in BT3 for the Kamehameha animation: multiple hits instead of a single explosion.
No screen shake and broken or overlapping voice clips. It's like they didn't put any care into it, just like Jump Force. Idk, but hearing "KameHA" just sounds fucking stupid. Fix this shit Bandai.
Nah u right with that jump force comparison
I’m not complaining and I know this is a demo but if they could fix the death animations for the characters than I would be 100% satisfied
Only thing that throws me off is the camera of Sparking Zero tbh
This makes me so happy. Thank you for this
😂
My only grip with Sparking Zero are the sound effects man. They are really really muffed, some of them don't even sound.
I hope this is fixed for the final version because the game looks great
No they aren’t muffled. That is just how modern HD games sound. Tenkaichi 3 audio was scuffed it literally wasn’t good, it sounds outdated af. We are not in 2007 PS2 days anymore get over jt
@@SonGokuuuuuuuI don't know what are you talking about LMAO FighterZ and Kakarot had great sound effects, and they are modern HD games.
Clearly you are a fanboy who can't take criticism ^=^
my only worry about this game is that it's marketed on the special moves, but this isn't what made the game great in bt3, it was the multiple mechanics and hand to hand combat that made it so great, and I fear it won't be as deep as bt3
The feelings BT3 gives are UNMATCHED!
They don't make games like that anymore...
Imagine showing this to our ten year old selves
You can see that the game makers of the old days had more understanding and love than today's games which lack detail.
I feel the same as you, as someone who likes bt3
But i can understand the reason they did it
It’s because some of characters has too many forms(like goku)
And you know that it’s a little bit confusing when you need to change into specific form
I do get confused sometimes when i had to figure it out which’s direction of L analog i should go,to get the form i want
And it took me for awhile to understand how to trigger fusion button
And now it’s sparking zero that include dragonball super
Goku has too many color forms
It’s impractical if you have to be blind and trigger transform button
For me it looks weird af
When they use 3D model for characters UI And even in character selecting lobby
It looks so bad for me
It just feels too stiff
I think using 2D image has more charm
The sounds cell makes in BT3 cracks me up 😂
I like how they made the ki look and flow in the newer game. Helps sell that magical energy feel
The energy beams are a single hit in Sparking Zero, kinda removes the ferocity behind it that way.
Tenkachi 3 had more meat in the energy beams
😢
Ohh that's a little sad that the Saiyan saga spirit bomb is just an explosion
It’s only like that on giants. Not regular characters
The damage numbers for Tenkaichi 4 are insanely high, most shown here are in the 20k range, I hope we can have more health bars than in 3 to endure a little bit longer
Or more than 7
@@josealfredotorresmartinez8467You could have more than seven in BT3 so there'll probably be customizations to add to your character to give you more health like in that game.
@@KaitouKaiju The Detail here:
Health Bar 0 Always orange
Health Bar 1 Always Yellow
Health Bars 2-6 Is shown Green
Health Bars 7 & Higer is shown Blue
While in the Sparking Zero the color code is different
Orange > Yellow > Lime Green > Vibrant Green > Turquoise (As far shown in the game), that's why I asked me that question
The fact they kept almost all the moves the same and just updates graphics and animation is amazing. Shows great love for Tenkaichi 3
The same??
Bro open your eyes
Tiens Dodon Ray doesn’t go through your body anymore like in BT3, I wonder why they changed that
None of the beams do
They really should change it back
I see a lot of comments claiming that the abilities in BT3 look more close to the source material than sparking zero…..
Wow sparking made Ssj2 goku have interesting moves, i always thought that transformation was lacking in the old games.
Edit: This also reminded me how dirty Xenoverse did Big Bang Attack
Chaval me acuerdo cuando de niño veía comparaciones de Bt3 con Xenoverse y me emocionaba, me está pasando lo mismo
not hating on the new game at all but a lot of sparking zero movements and special attacks looks so stiff and less impactful compared to tenkaichi 3
True AF
I feel Sparking Zero Slower... Is just me??
Actually, it's 20% faster than Bt3. This was confirmed by a Bt3 pro player.
@@OriginalDrGonzo thank you bro, i commented this 2 months ago. Now I can really see that it improved a lot
@Punkyboy17 Yeah no problem man. The pros are happy about this game since it's a direct successor to Bt3. If they like it, I'm sure it will be good. Unlike the Raging Blast games.
Tenkaichi 3 still the best dragon ball game was made it
I wish they would add the camera shake feature when a powerful hit lands it gives it weight and immersive
It would be nice but if they add this I want that shit turned tf off I HATE screen shake in games especially in games like this where a single frame can make/break a game
@@Shooopdawooooop have you played dbz bt2 or 3?
@@thetruthhurts8643 I played BT3 as a kid but never owned It. It was like the game my cousin brought at Christmas n we never put It down. I’ve learned to hate screen shake over the years, I prefer the ability to remove It for accessibility.
Also they need to show the fist hitting the person it’s being blurred out by the flashes
I actually like the old Tenkaichi moves better
I think it’s the old music people are missing lol just drop a old school audio option to buy cause you know they gone charge then it will b fine lol
How tf do we already have a vid like this games not even out yet 🤣🤣
That comparison ain't fair because there are some missing characters like futur Trunks from dbz and Goku end of z using the genkidama in buu saga
Future trunks Z was in the annocment trailer he is confimrrd
I'm probably the only one who cares, but Spach Mach Attack way WAY more satisfying in BT3. At least Purple Comet got a huge glow up tho
I prefer the colors and shadows used in bt3, sparking zero looks exaggerated and very different from the anime
I understand why it wasn't called BT4, it's clearly not better than the BT3, but hey, everything isn't to be thrown away.😑
no clothing or character damage for Majin Vegeta's ult?
I just don’t like how the ki blast leave, the clouds kinda childish
It looks so overloaded, sometimes you cant pay attetion to whats happening
For those wondering why Sparking Zero doesn't seem to have the same impact and intensity as BT3, it's all in the higher framerates (which makes everything too smooth), and slower camera shakes on impact animations. They used to jitter much quicker and intensely (coupled with more brutal sound fx), so even through most gamers prefer faster framerates and less camera shaking, it generally doesn't translate well for anime based games.
the sound effects in bt3 are way better than sparking zero. everything in the new game sounds flat. which kind of makes the gameplay look flat. still excited for it tho, i just dont feel like its a true successor to the original budokai tenkaichi series
Facts
That facts your judging an alpha based off sound effects is insanity 😂😂😂😂 you know the game isn’t finished yet you put that ignorant comment
It's a good criticism, but you can't knock the game down just because of the sound section.
@ROLLUP424 There's not much that can be changed on a technical level from alpha level to full release unless it's very minor things. Do you really think the developers are going to invest time and resources in revamping the sound, among other things, when the development phase has gone this far?
@@RazorX0517 dog sound isn’t even an issue you’re just complaining. I said it was an alpha just to imply the game could still be tweaked. The fact you’re complaining about sounds is absurd. It’s like you haven’t even watched the dang show
I liked more the powers graphics of the Tenkaichi 3
You liked tenkaichi graphics better? Weird
@lucaspenedo2767 He likes the simple

@@turbotrup96 Alright your reaching bruh, stop no way you sit there and believe that shit.
@@jovaughnlaing7171 ? I think you are the confused one. Go look at how energy waves looked like in Z, then look at the Sparking Zero ones. The SZ ones look closer to Xenoverse or some modern mobile Anime game.
A part from the amazing animations, there is a huge downgrade in impact frames, ki blast size and sound effects
It’s not… you’re comparing Z to Super. You know super is a smoother experience like the graphics and how they depict dragon ball super is spot on. Yall are really upset up sounds 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Ki blast size???? Dog BT3 is just a big blob of blue instead of a concentrated attack 😂😂😂 Impact frames ?????? What????????? This is literally the coolest next gen Dragonball game i have seen 😫🔥not the shiny Xenoverse nonsense
So amazing man thank u
The stage effects of the beams, the long drawn out cutscenes, the special blinding lights of the screen man BT 3 was the shit😂😂😂
Sparkling just looks like a simpler more compact HD version. With more animation shading and color.
3 is clearly better in terms of effects, animations and sequences, in addition to the perfect timing between the use of skills, which is neither too slow nor does it run over the next sequence. Unfortunately, 4 only has graphics.
Meteor combination didn’t make it?! Dang! I used to spam 😂

Alright, I'll give them points for giving some of the Z fighters improved presentation on their finishers. In particular, Yamcha's reworked Spirit Ball finisher.
Kinda prefer that sound when beam hits the enemy in b3, really makes the beam more powerful and also kinda want bigger beams cuz seeing some thin beams doesnt feel budokaiy
But it's more accurate to manga

I think the problem is wanting to develop the game on Unreal Engine 5 which is still in its early stages and which the studio does not master.
That Angry Kamehameha was fire.
a remastered BT3 would have been better
9:44 That should be a Big Bang Kamehameha 🙄
Gotta love the people who let nostalgia cloud their minds and refuse to accept change even when its for the better.
Pretty good. But not enough flashing lights.
It would be great if they played the same music from Budokai Tenkaichi 3 😍 I think it's called the Meteor
That piccolo combination hit is more like a stun grab in Sparking Zero. Visually I think Sparking looks incredible, but sound wise and even action pieces are feeling lackluster.
It's crazy how sz is a bt3 knock-off but we can still argue how bt3 is still better in a fewer aspects, not to mention it's almost 2 decades of difference between both games. Bt3 is just goated
Tht animation so clean🔥
Why did Meteor Combination and Meteor Smash get nerfed???
That’s not meteor combination sparkings meteor combination hasn’t been shown yet. Meteor smash definitely got nerfed
