This "Anti-Ninth" is pure fun, full of irony, adventurous cascades and a very long outstretched tongue. Shostakovich knew well enough how to play a trick on the expectations placed on him.
I love Petrenko, he's so enthusiastic.
Petrenko's conducting from 0:49 is incredible
It still baffles me how Shostakovich, well aware of the curse of the 9th, decides to not only compose another symphony as if it were any other, but rather spit in the face of both the curse and Stalin by composing such a hysterical masterpiece.
Love Petrenkos facial expressions, showing the mockery and sarcasm this piece conveys regarding Shostakovich’s feelings towards Stalin and the soviets!
wow! that was great! the tempi and the articulations specifically!
These videos are wonderful! I always use Berlin Philharmonic videos in my classroom. Thank you for providing such high quality material! 👏👏👏
Kirill Petrenko
Magic Conductor 🎶💪
Magnifique extrait. Généreux ! Merci
Petrenko está preenchendo uma lacuna necessária no repertório de gravações da BPO. Ansioso para ouvir a integral das sinfonias de Shostakovich com essa monumental orquestra.
Nice!
Gran sinfonía, gran orquesta y gran director.
The BPO is back.
Brilliant!
This is amazing!
Keyifli anlar yaşamamıza katkı sağlayan paylaşımınız için teşekkürler.
Best part of the piece
He deserves to conducting this wonderfull orchestra👊🏻
Absolutely!
Just Wow!!! 💪🏼
Amazing
MAGNIFICO!!!!
This is pretty great, but why not just show literally the rest? It's like 30 seconds left of the piece from where it ended.
You can listen to the full one if you have tha app and the premium membership :)))
I agree. I’m surprised it didn’t play out till the end.
You have to pay money!
@@ballaarnold8255 If you got 150€.(access for a year)
Im Lovin it
wow bravo 👏👏
Awesome
Is there a partial audience or just a couple of relatives and friends of the orchestra?
At least you are playing.
You noticed there is covid in the world?
distance = not so many people in one room
I get that. I am just wondering what their rules are? I don’t think that a lot of orchestras are even practicing together.
@@timow6929 You really have no sence of humour, do you?
@@AndreyRubtsovRU wow.. if this should have been humor, I really don't have lol
@@brucekuehn4031 ah Okey, I can explain. For some time German Orchestras and Philharmonic's were allowed to play concerts with regular negative Corona tests of the people in the orchestra. If one of them was positive, they wouldn't be allowed anymore to play together.
Similar with regulations of football/soccer matches
Love it but the membership is too expensive for me
Nice...
Fuerza musical
Senza ombra di dubbio la più grande orchestra al mondo.
PETRENKO IS FANTASTIK
Where is 2:13 taken from?
may i suggest reading the title
