I’m always interested when you take your time exploring with us esp when you’re on foot,,, I ,myself don’t get impatient when I follow you around. Hehe. At least I’m able to sit back , drink a cup of coffee or enjoy a glass of wine 🍷 while we tour with you virtually 😀😌 Thanks again for your endless effort to bringing us sensible video content.
Thank you Sir Ferns for uploading another interesting content. I am very pleased with the Hotel's revival. I do certainly hope that one day, some of the owners of other heritage buildings will be encouraged to follow the same, to give a new light to these already extinguished structures. Back in 2001, my friend who was a Psychology major, together with her group mates did their research paper on Pasay City. The place was none other than Home for the Golden Gays, an elderly facility that housed many of Manila's elderly gays. Their interviewee was none other than Walter Dempster Jr.aka Walterina Markova or Markova for short. According to Markova, he started working as a dancer in one of Ermita's dance club called Tsubaki Club in 1942. Then, one night as he and his other gay friends were still enjoying their day off, they decided to stroll along Luneta Park still in their nightgowns. Suddenly, three Japanese officers noticed them and gave them a halt. Instead of turning away from them, they flirted with them and ended up being invited to the Luneta Hotel for lunch (I don't think so). When Markova and one officer ended up playing with fire in one of its lavish suites, the officer lustfully puts his hand on his groin to begin his worldly desire. When he felt this unusual thing, he stood and begins to hit him. Then, he alerted his other men to check up on their girls if they were indeed "boys". When they realized that all of them had male genitals, they arrested all of them and locked them up in Rizal Memorial Stadium, which the Japanese converted into one of their garrisons.
@@kaUA-camro Their misery is just starting as they were jailed there. They were tortured and beaten almost After they got there. In the morning, they were washing the uniforms of the Japanese, including their Fundoshi(Japanese male underwear). At night, the sounds of wailing echoed as they repeatedly sodomized them in turns. They did this to them for almost a year. Then, divine providence lend them a hand when suddenly, the Japanese placed them inside a truck. While driving Highway 54 (EDSA), Markova felt that the truck slows down. He immediately alerted his friends, and with the right timing, they opened the door and jumped. They ran without turning back ( At that time, EDSA was just an empty rice field). Although they heard the Japanese shouting and were in pursuit, they successfully evaded them. They moved from place to place until the war ended in 1945.

Hello again Fern i would just like to mention about what makes your vlog so interesting is about the travel you are doing from start to finish area you are covering and location that you cover to reach the subject which i myself don't even remember how to get there, very appealing its like walk down the memory lane i would say , So again thank you for another inspiring and wonderful vlog Fern.
Very nice and interesting vlog! Sir, curious lng ako sa old GSIS building sa Arroceros, Manila, katabi ng SM Manila. Nakatayo pa ba yun o na demolished na. My uncle used to work there during the 80’s at madalas kaming magpunta o mapadaan dun dati when we were young. Can u consider doing a vlog of that abandoned building? Ty and more power to your channel.
I am really enjoying watching your content. How about kung may time ka, e-feature mo rin ang dating Manila Intercontinental Hotel sa Ayala, Makati, at Manila Hilton Hotel malapit lang din sa Lunita.

I don't think that they can put power cables under the ground because of flooding, unless they can improve the drainage system then its possible. Here in CA, electricity, gas, water, telecommunications are under the ground and they could easily shut off in case of emergency.
