PY & NAATI scam must be abolished. There should not be such a big gap of points for someone in 20 vs 40. Points for only 2 years of experience is completely unfair! Age & experience criteria only support young employees with basic experience (2 years doesn’t mean you are an expert), not specialists and older experenced emplyoyees even if they are high earners are written off - very sad, hopefully DOHA has better ideas on this!
Your point system doesn’t make any sense. A highly skilled expert over the age of ~34 with 10 years of experience has literally no chance of getting a visa. It favors young individuals with 2 years of experience and no significant skills, who are unlikely to find a job in Australia. That’s absurd. A 27-year-old IT worker with 2 years of experience, without any essential skills, or certifications will score more points than a highly skilled IT expert with industry-recognized certifications, 10 years of experience, and a proven track record at a FAANG company.
Simple and great. Everything should be based on basic principle. The principle that those who are educated, already earn high, have excellent communication skills are more likely to be successful. Rest secondary factors of target occupations could be dealt with separate visas.
In the previous strategy announcement from the AUSTRALIA government, Govt will encourage experienced professionals, while in your recommendations you decrease the points for experienced migrants. Can you please explain? If I am not wrong it was the minister's statement to the media to encourage the experienced migrants.
Great analysis on the overall challenges and possible solutions. Kudos!! . However i think we need to test likely do a simulation test for short period without changing the current condition and running paralelly for 6 months and if the results are encouraging it would definitely pave way for federal increase.
Hi. I am just about to sign up and pay for the professional year (PY) course. How likely do you think PY will NOT contribute to the new point test system? This is very urgent for me, please response ASAP. Thanks in advanced!!
A very good analysis indeed. The current system is hurting migrants potential, career choices and future. Many skilled migrants choose careers and places of stay that are not suitable for them just because of these points. It ends up wasting the prime time of their career. I myself know that I could be highly successful in another career and I am so interested in it but just can't switch my career because my skill assessment is in my current subject and I am just staying in this career for permanent residency. I know for sure that I could have a much passionate and innovative career in another field. But, switching would be such a hassle.
Hi, I am a Canadian Citizen, How much money I should invest in Australia in order to stay in Australia for a long time, perhaps permanently. Also, I would like to buy a house in Australia.
OK high skilled migrants who earns $120k but then where they live? instead people who works on construction such as tradespeople never got counted. Such as now Victroria full of healthcare profession, but where they gonna live? rental market got worse, builder collapsed because hard to pay the labour.
plus after student graduate , they got 485 visa for 2 years. During two years experience in Australia, is it possible to get pay 120K? People/ student would be really grateful even if they find a job that match their skill. Because most employer did not even counted overseas experience prior migrate here, so start again from 0.
If ure reducing ponts for who are aged 40 you should increase points for work experience. What about people with over 5 years of experience???

Poor education produces poorly skilled people! First focus on australia's education providers.
