It works !! What took Soo LONG ! LOL !! Awesome thank you for sharing !! Been peeling eggs years Years - Same struggle some peeled most did not losing biggest part of egg!! IM 62yr old And just now found this!! Dang we worked too hard LOL !
Been using all sort of tricks, vinegar, room temp etc. This by far is the best and easiest way to have perfect easy peel hard boiled eggs. Comments about saving water, have lots of ice ready. Thanks for this tip.
Thank you so much for sharing, Linda. I followed your instructions exactly and it absolutely worked! No fuss, no muss. Just a simple, easy, tried-and-true method. I would encourage skeptics to ignore the few negative comments and to try this out for themselves. Just bring hot tap water to a boil, then follow the rest of the procedure.
Skeptical me after watching this super simple, too-good-to-be-true technique: "No........" Me 20 minutes later after trying this super simple technique: *_YES!_* At 69 years old, I finally found the secret to easy-peel hard boiled eggs. THANKS!
i actually steamed a recent batch of eggs, for pickled eggs. first time trying to steam them. my steamer was able to hold 18 eggs in a single layer, bring water to a boil first then add steam basket with eggs let steam for 17 min when they are close to done i took a large bowl big enough for the steam basket to sit in put a few handfuls of ice in and filled up with cold water. once the 17min is up take the basket out put directly into the ice water let set for 5 min or so then pull the basket out put a cover on it and give the basket with the eggs a good shake some of mine literally peeled themselves and those that didn't were about the easiest eggs i've ever peeled in my life!
Best video. Too many talking about adding vinegar, salt and ice. Who has that many vinegar, salt and ice to use. Then you have those using steamers. Never had issue boiling eggs that don't stick because I did this exact way without understanding why.
Linda! You want to learn something that works even BETTER? I do my eggs in a STEAMER, for 12-13 minutes, then flushed with cold water! 2, or 20...each one perfect!
New subscriber here. I did this with 10 eggs and lost only one. It burst open in the boiling water and the attached shell stuck. Thank you for this video.
I’m sorry it broke even one!! Sometimes if the eggs are icy cold and the water is boiling too rapidly, that may cause a crack. Hope you enjoy some of my other posts! God bless!
Hi Connie .. so sorry I didn’t see this sooner! Sure!! You can peel them right after boiling and put them in an airtight baggie or container to use later. You can also just stick them in the refrigerator after boiling, with the peel on. They will still peel easily for many days to come whenever you want one. Either way works!
@@lindalandisafewgoodthings5356 I tried this 2 days ago. It worked great. I was buying a dozen red beet eggs for 9.00. 18 eggs r 4.29 per pack. So I needed a good way to make my own hard boiled eggs because I eat Carnivore. Thank u so much.
Make sure the water isn’t boiling furiously. Just a gentle boil … and lower the egg slowly. I very seldom ever have a cracked egg; only once in a very great while. Hope it works for you next time!
@@WorldWideWebObserver Just make sure the water isn’t rapidly boiling and going crazy. Inspect your eggs. If they have a small hairline crack they will definitely crack more and leak. Some times you cannot even see a crack until you place the egg in the water, but if you see small bubbles emanating along the surface of the egg, it has a defect and you WILL get a rupture. Hope this helps.
@@ss-ib8gm Just make sure the water is not boiling too rapidly and violently. Inspect your eggs before putting them in. Sometimes a raw egg will have a hairline crack that we can’t always see and it will break along that line if the water is too hot. You could try taking your eggs out of the fridge a few minutes before boiling them. Also, if you lower your eggs slowly into the boiling water, you should have success. Hope this works for you!! .
I've put cold eggs in boiling water and the shock of cold hitting hot has cracked my egg open right away? Egg ends up coming out of the shell and is no good.
Just make sure it’s a gentle boil and not wildly boiling water. I know a break may happen occasionally, but this method does work consistently and so much better than most others. The comments here in the thread testify!!
If you watched the video you can see they don’t. It just can’t be a wildly rolling boil. I seldom have any breakage. And even if I lose one occasionally, it’s still such a better outcome that I don’t mind losing one as opposed to having several that just look downright ugly. 🫤
I tried this but didn’t work, probably because my eggs were too fresh like you said. Should I wait like a week or two before cooking to help with this?
Oh gosh! I’m sorry it didn’t work. I don’t think you have to wait that long. Probably just a few days even would make a big difference. I get eggs from a farm near me and they are very fresh. It usually works even with those. Commercial eggs are different though so yes, perhaps wait a bit and try again. Please let me know!
Yes, you are right. I was busy filming and just didn’t give it a thought. Thank goodness I live on a farm and we have a well so it all goes right back where Mother Nature intended. We are not on city water! 🙌
Hi Dave! Granted, yard eggs which have not been washed and still retain the “bloom“ from the laying process can be safely kept at room temperature for a VERY long while. Unfortunately, commercially farmed eggs are washed and processed removing protective bloom from the hens, so they don’t last as long. Refrigeration is encouraged to preserve the life of commercial eggs. So, in answer to your question: most people keep eggs in the fridge.
@@lindalandisafewgoodthings5356 must be an American thing. I was brought up on a farm,we never kept eggs in a fridge. I suppose let people do what they want.
@@davefinn3526 Hi Dave. Actually lots of Americans who live on farms don’t refrigerate their eggs. It’s just what happens of necessity when eggs are commercially produced. They don’t last as long because of the processing and therefore refrigeration is suggested for preservation…even in other countries.
