The Telethon may be off TV, and Jerry has left this world, but it will always live here on the internet. Thanks for allowing us to revisit it!
That performance of You'll Never Walk Alone was one of his best vocally. His thanks to all the people involved was so heartfelt. He truly poured his heart and soul into MDA, the people who had dystrophic diseases and their families, and MDA's mission. The man was not without his flaws, like all of us, but his heart was huge and he cared very deeply. Jerry was a real humanitarian. RIP, dear man. Love you. ❤
"You'll Never Walk Alone" has become an ending to each year's "JERRY LEWIS TELETHON", and has become a part of Jerry Lewis' life. It had symbolized hope, faith, and love, and that's how people around the world listened to and saw it. Between 1976 and 2010, that song was Jerry's trademarked favorite when it comes to helping Jerry's Kids. Jerry sang it many times at the Telethon's end, and it's still the song that's closest to his heart.

THE JERRY LEWIS (MDA LABOR DAY) TELETHON
1966-2010
Wayne Newton was then & is now one of the most versatile & talented performers in the industry.
always meant the end of summer for me .
My childhood neighbor passed from ALS when I was fifteen. ALS is a hideous disease and curse. I still think about her to this day especially around Labor Day.
Jerry Lewis, what a beautiful, precious human being, oh and yes The King of Comedy! 💗
Dear God to hear that Majestic sounding orchestra again. My guess is lead trumpet Rick Baptist, and Warren Luening on the very end "Cute" solo. World class all.

32:00 You’ll never walk alone
This was made 30 years before the Ice Bucket Challenge and was such a classier funding mechanism. I wonder what happened to that cute, blonde boy diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. Who knows whether he is still alive?
My God, how time flies. I was born the year this was made. Rest in peace, Jerry Lewis. Pity you never lived to see a cure for muscular dystrophy.
who knew wayne the train newton could throw down like dat?!
I’m convinced this must come out of the San Francisco and Northern California area only I don’t know what station it is.
I have on vhs
Lisa Carrie(middle) and Genevieve Francis(left end dark hair) singing background. Don't know the blond on the end.
Jerry's a terrible singer.
Boy do I miss the Jerry Lewis labor day telethon
