Excellent well documented videos! I came across your channel by pure luck for this very reason….the weeboost! I was looking specifically for an outback wire routing video that could give me ideas where to run the cabling. I own a 2022 Wilderness so you can imagine how happy I was to find your video. You do a great job explaining your installs without overdoing it but definitely giving the details folks need to know. The fact you even mention fastener sizes on some videos is great because it’s always the little things that turn an easy install into a daylong project haha. I mounted my weeboost antenna in the same spot as you basically but hadn’t been able to decide how to run the cabling into the car while keeping it hidden. Since I saw your video I did exactly what you did and it’s perfect. Please keep it up!
Hello and Welcome!! I am super glad you found us and our video has helped you out! this was the pure reason why I started this journey, to help other DIYer like me spend less time at home improvement stores and more time building your car~! LOL If you have any questions, please feel free to ask anytime!
I installed one in my OBW. Mounted the Amp to the underside of the door to the spare tire compartment. Ran the power to the front arm rest and internal broadcast antenna to the side center console passenger side tray. I usually leave my phone plugged in and in that tray. That way, the broadcast antenna is next to my phone. Works great!
That's a nice place to mount it as well. But the instructions stated to have the unit mounted farther away from the antenna, but if it works fine for you, maybe it doesn't really matter 🤔 😊
Campsite hack- on trips my iPad stays in the car, for navigation. So it has good service with the booster. I just tether my phone to the iPad, using the WiFi hotspot, then I have service all around camp if needed, and don’t have to bring my phone over by the car for better signal.
Looking at taking advantage of the REI sale to get myself one of these for my forester, since I don't have a roof rack either, I was thinking about mounting it to my awning as well, so thanks for the video! Was trying to figure out how to mount it.
Great video, thanks for sharing. But I really can't tell what you mounted it to and how. I've got a Crosstrek and hoping to find a way to mount it to the side rails when I don't have my roofrack installed.
Thank you for making this video! Do you still think the WeBoost is worth the effort of installing it? Does the wire entering the vehicle get pinched when you open a close the lift gate? How did you make the hole in the rubber boot? Did you drill the hole or use a pocketknife? How did you avoid cutting any wires inside the boot when you were making the hole? I’ll be installing mine soon, and your feedback would be helpful. Thanks!
You are very welcome. and to answer your questions, Yes, I for me, I do think its still worth it. it does get pinched slightly, I cut it with a X-acto knife, and I cut it very lightly. it was relatively easy to install them.
I have the older sleek unit. I get moderate improvement but is usually enough to get me what I need. I almost got that unit on Prime Day, they even had zero interest and you could pay over 5 months.
Interested in seeing how it works out for you, and if the Subi’s DC ports have enough constant power to keep it going correctly (mine jumps between 20-90W when trying to charge my power station). But I think I’m going to use your wiring method to run the cables for the flex panel I’m going to try and mount on my roofbox next week.
I have a magnetic phone holder. www.amazon.com/shop/chasingadventures?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsfshop_aipsfchasingadventures_CN2VDQH2MHEY2Z11FWH1 you can find most of my parts under Everything Subaru
I found a better way to attach it, on the back of my ladder and I angled it so when it lays flat it’s parallel and flush and then when you open it to it highest point, it’s pointing about 70° in the air and then when you open the hatch it’s pointing 90° straight up. Take a peak. ua-cam.com/video/cLLlCQbIvGY/v-deo.htmlsi=w9JbMjI9BdYg5GCP
Invest in and mount a vise in your garage on your workbench. It will serve you long and well. It's an essential.
I have one but on a easy job like this, I always forget that I have one. 😆 🤣
I will be getting one of these soon. Hopefully by the spring
nice!
Just got a 24’ OBW and your videos are so great - so glad you do them!
Thank you!! I appreciate it and glad I could help out the community

That's a nice touch.. A little boost wouldn't hurt anyone
Yes indeed. It's been working pretty good for me.!

That is a GREAT idea!! 👍 but unfortunately 😕 I don't have a iPad.. 😆
Good stuff, as always!
Thank you! 😊

I mounted to the awning rails. but if you dont have a awning, you might need something like this amzn.to/4clm5kZ
Congrats on hitting 4k subs, dude!
Were you my 4k subber? LoL. Thank you!! 😊 and only 145,839,927 more subs to go!! 😆 🤣
@@ChasingAdventuresCO I don’t think so, just a fellow magnetite OBW owner though ❤️
@@Jaypher well, I really appreciate it!!

If it's working out for you, you should not upgrade it. but zero interest for 5 months does sound tempting. lol

most cars' DC ports fluctuate so I am sure Weboost put a converter inside the unit so that it would have consistent power.
Curious what a flex panel is in your instance? I’ve not heard of this. Thanks
@@HesperianHorsePower sorry, I dont understand your question?
@@HesperianHorsePower for my setup? I used a BougeRV Yuma 100 watt compact CIGS panel on top of my Inno 660.
Did you put some silicone on that boot when you cut a hole in it? So no water will get in your car.
Good idea, but since the hole was such a small hole, it is pretty tightly sealed already and didn't feel the need to.
What do you use for your phone mount near the infotainment center?
I have a magnetic phone holder. www.amazon.com/shop/chasingadventures?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsfshop_aipsfchasingadventures_CN2VDQH2MHEY2Z11FWH1

there is non.
What tent do you have on the car?
It's Thule Foothill tent
@@ChasingAdventuresCO that’s what I thought. Do a review on it please 🙏🏻.
