Really hoping you do another video reading all the ones you didn’t choose to compare with their first chapter scores and whether or not they would’ve been good picks!
Reading challenge idea: people describe their favorite book by the cover without saying the name or author, and you try to guess what it is and read your guess!
I loved The Violin Conspiracy, but be aware that the story really isn't about the mystery of the stolen violin. It is more of a family drama and a young Black man's journey in the world of classical music. The theft of the violin just brings everything bubbling up all at once.
Ooooohh also I highly recommend you to check out Kill For Me Kill For You by Steve Cavanagh (as a book club book or just for yourself). It’s very reminiscent of the Kind Worth Killing, but I personally liked it even more. So twisty and fun!
I read an ARC of Sisters of a Lost Nation last year and do NOT expect it to be horror. It is definitely more of a mystery/light thiller energy. I really loved it, but it was not the expectation I went in with. Just started his new one, Indian Burial Ground last night.

Death in the family sounded really interesting and I personally love mysteries told by the pov of detectives! This one should deff be in the poll for November!
at the time of me watching this video, I read you know what you did but haven't watched the liveshow, which I accidentally sort of forgot to tune in to. SO very interested to hear your overall thoughts. as a person with OCD I found it a challenging and emotionally intense experience.

I'm excited for Sisters of a Lost Nation, it was added to this year's TBR in January! Middle of the Night is on order with my Library, and I'm only 181 in line for the 75 copies they've requested. 🥴

I'm so excited to read Sisters of the Lost Nation. It's been on my TBR for a while now. I'm Ojibwe and aside from loving your content, I really appreciate you highlighting Indigenous authors. I wrote my comprehensive exam manuscript for my PhD candidacy on MMIW and gender roles.

I would love to read The Violin Conspiracy as a group pick. I read Symphony of Secrets by same author and it was a favorite last year.
You said Sisters of the Lost Nation has a prologue, does it have an epilogue as well? (Asking to see if it will fit for another reading challenge I'm doing.)

She Stated It has to be one of the worst mystery/thrillers I have ever read! There are a lot of trigger warnings and an incredible obvious twist.
Sisters of the lost nation was really good. I gave it 4/5 last year I think
An author I think you would really like is Megan Goldin. I read her book The Eacape Room and started another book of hers The Night Swim before having to put it down regretfully. Great Mysteries, in my opinion.
The way I watched this video immediately even though I already watched the liveshow and knew exactly what was coming

as someone that’s already read She Started It and liked it - don’t pick that one. i had a great time but all the things ppl say are pretty accurate and i get why ppl didn’t enjoy it. i just had a fun ride despite the junky parts.

Ok this is a bit off topic but seeing your shirt I was thinking about how excited you get about tie dye (always love the enthusiasm) and it struck me that a tie dye is a craft you could try for your crafting vlogs, one of my FAVORITE series you do.

I did read and really liked She Started It but I was in my revenge era when I read it. I gave it 4 stars but I feel like you would give it 2 maybe 3 if you are feeling generous.
