I absolutely adore this for the fact alone they had an actual pianist with true skills and talents reminiscent of many romantic pianists like Franz Liszt and I would greatly consider this to be as close as we may get to a historical re-enactment on film!

I agree, this is perhaps the LEAST silly portrayal of Liszt in film. Too bad Richter's performance isn't quite complete. I've read somewhere that he never played transcriptions, there was too much original piano music of Liszt (and others?) to play. The sole exception, to my knowledge, is a Schubert-Liszt Erlkonig from around 1948.
If anybody here speaks English. And explain in simple English what is the NAME of the movie. Dont just say A film on Glinka. What is a Glinka? When I search Glinka. I get Russian rubbish. TELL me the movie name!!!

It never occurred to me how he does resemble Liszt in profile. And he almost comes across as a charismat here. Always an exceptional pianist.
