Midas Touch: A Greek myth that goes a little something like this, Midas found a good friend of Dionysus, a Saytr named Silenus. Midas took in the Saytr, who was super drunk because Dionysus, and cared for him. Dionysus found out and as a reward gifted Midas with a wish. Midas wished for everything he touched to turn to gold. It was super cool until he turned his food to gold and maybe his wife or daughter into gold. He then begged Dionysus to take away his curse.
I know there are different ways it ended but I know one where after begging Dionysus he told him “ you must wash your hands in special river “ and so he did soon he gave gold to his village his greed vanished only after losing his daughter. But there is one where he starves to death
Fun fact: Clepsydras are water clocks, like hourglasses are "sand clocks". Might fit as a name for your water-time-bending lady. Super cool character designs as always!
i would totally binge watch an animated series with these character designs- your rendering is also incredibly beautiful! name suggestions: Lynn for water (derived from words meaning pond/lake/waterfall - Welsh and Celtic origin) and Mishal for fire (it means torch/candle - Arabic origin)

I’m not sure what it is, but I love the dark skin with yellow clothing combo. It’s why I love Mel’s design from arcane, especially with the yellow freckles she has. There’s also i comic that I read where one character had dark skin with yellow freckles and eyes. There’s something about that combo that I’m a big fan of I’d also like to mention for the fire goddess, another two things that could add to her theme of “rebirth” are volcanoes and wildfires. Volcanoes caused lots of damage with their lava, but they can also make islands and very fertile land for nearby areas. As for wildfires, even after very terrible wildfires, life finds a way to regrow. Where I live, we had a pretty bad wildfire I think three years ago. Now revisiting there in the summer, the trees are still dead but the ground has lots of plants and flowers that grow around it

Water is lovely and striking, too; I have to admit, when you mentioned Cthulhu it just reminded how much I would love to see any sort of eldritchy art you might create. These designs are amazing! My idea for the fire "goddess" is Helia. A girlish take on the greek sun god Helios. I think it fits with your idea of fire being something connected to life as the sun is our main source of life. I think it also pays homage to the Wonder Woman inspiration since I think she's based of greek mythology.
phoneix rebirth linked to a Fire Goddess is honestly such a satisfying choice ! Also love the animal compaions of the aquatic variety! Love your work, thank you for sharing!
Water being the tank would’ve been cool as well, since water stops most anything from going fast in its own and strength is generally weakened under water
Woooooooooow Can't wait for more. They are glorious!!! I can so imagine their "familiars" emerging from them Might there be any magical boy celestials in the future?
The Avatar challenge was so fun! Thanks for joining in even tho it was pretty early in my channel :3 I kinda want to redo that video now that it's a couple years later 👀
I just gotta say, the water inspiration dress looks so much like blue diamond from Steven universe, and she’s got garnets abilities which were visualized as water- I love the designs you came up with, they’re so pretty and powerful and elegant♥️
Congratulations! A livestream sounds fantastic if you can get it to work. Also, for the earth goddess you're going to make, you could take inspiration from the process of decomposition and how everything eventually becomes part of the earth. Maybe this could let her know the history of something. Or you could take inspiration from how the ground links everything, which could give her the ability to know what's happening far away or teleport anywhere she wants. The air goddess could have this same ability though since the air also links everything. Another cool thing you could do with the air goddess is give her the ability to "bend" light or temperatures since both travel through and are influenced by the air and wind.
for the fire girl, i desperately hunted after a name i saw when i was looking to change my own. i thought the name Tesni (which is of welsh origin), meaning "warmth from the sun" would fit her perfectly. the meaning is soft- and feels almost gentle- which goes with her healing abilities, yet it’s got a hard like uh. kick to it when you say it aloud? best i can describe it. and i found a name for water, Lyre. it means fork in the river and it’s of english origin. i thought lyre worked well as “fork in the river” could refer to how the future could play out? it parts into one or more trails, thus forks in the river (or future in this case) keep appearing. it sounds gentle and regal, which is what this gal gave off for me. also i would love a discord, personally!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that says "originality is dead." If I were to stress out about being 100% original in my art, I would have worse anxiety than I already have!
Since the sky tree and now element charactets are kinda all in the same world, headcanon that the night sky girl and water girl are gfs cuz of the ocean and moon conections
These are beautiful. I like familiars are with them. It would be interesting to see an opposite interpretation of disasters like, hurricane for water, typhoon or cyclone for air, earthquake for earth or maybe quicksand, and of course flash fires for fire. They of course would be like a super villain team opposite of x-men perhaps, or dark goddesses.
I like toImagine that all the characters you make in these design videos are all in the same world but completely oblivious or somewhat known to eachother! Awesome designs as well!
I think a character based on Aussie bushfires would be an interesting interpretation of fire. a bushfire will cause destruction but afterwards, you have the new life it brings. fires are an important part of the Australian ecosystem and are needed for nature to truly flourish, some seed pods rely on fire to open them. it would be an interesting duality for a character.
i like that water is connnected w time bc apparently water has memory and like the future water is unpredictable and can branch out into many different paths much like time does w the future so i think it perfectly fits it.
I feel like Water (name suggestion: Lana: Hawaiian for “calm as still waters”) would be calm and collected but overly protective of loved ones Fire (Bridget: Meaning: Irish goddess of fire and poetry) would be a chaotic spitfire and is typically sarcastic, but reckless and isn't afraid to fight someone if need be.
These design videos are always the highlight of my day. Just hearing about the thought process behind stuff like this is the best thing in the world. Thank you, for your genius mind, Ma‘m
Idk what you’d name the fire girl but for the water one I was think Charolette, after Charles Darwin who popularized evolution, and (in media) the ocean is often associated with the origin of life
I think you could call the fire girl Aurora because that name means light and I think that fits really well! 😊 Also thank you for choosing thank you name that I suggested for wade!!
I really love seeing this kind of videos from you, they're all so beautiful and creative it always hype me up and inspire me! Anxious to see part 2 as well
still giggling at "my magpie brain" cuz honestly MEEEEE. but omg i love how these turned out, especially how you incorporated a creature to go along with the element! also congrats on 100k!!! a discord would be super cool! have a party with your producer and celebrate
Funny enough, I'm designing characters for a story I'm working on since a year now. And one of them has the power to create water. But, she's not the healer of the group at all (she's more like the warrior) and she's from a very dry land. So people had to make water in order to survive. A bit like evolution. But I never thought of water benders who live in an icy land. I don't know, the desert thing spoke a lot more to me and was so obvious to me.
8:47 another interesting thing with fire about making and reusing shit, is welding. People weld metal into a whole new thing which i think is pretty cool.
I like the name Seraphina for fire (It can mean fiery, burning, or heavenly winged angel), and Anahita for water (meaning water or river goddess, because how perfect is that??) I love your channel and your videos and you inspire me to improve my art style.
I love these illustrations! You conveyed the idea of the elements very well, and the lighting in both of them is beautiful. Also, I think Zora would be a good name for the water girl. Love your videos! 😊
this made me think of a story with water mages being the evil, sly ones. kinda the scapegoat slytherins of this story. they can manipulate minds of people, influence their emotions and decisions, even predict the future based on the people around them to a certain degree. high ranking ones can make illusions and cause hallucinations.
Maybe Solace for the fire character. Solace means to give comfort to in times of distress, and she’s kind of the groups healer, so it might be fitting in some aspects? There’s also Solari (which Solace is derived from), and this means land that’s exposed to the sun (it kind of has a sun theme).
Solana for the fire goddess and oracle for the water goddess I think they are absolutely incredible designs! I absolutely loveeee them! And this turning things into character series! So good! 🥰
A livestream Q&A would be super cool if that ends up being possible! I would LOVE a discord, but if it ends up being too much to create/maintain, do not feel bad about letting it fall! For names, Fire could be Svechenya (russian for fire/glow) or maybe Vuur (afrikaans for fire). Vuur is apparently pronounced more like "fear," too, which I think would be a cool idea for a goddess. Water could be Natalie (a twist on natlei, afrikaans meaning to water) or Voda (Croatian) if we want to keep the V theme lol. And when I saw her final design, the name Nala also popped into my head. *so many options*
Watching the Water part of the video reminded me of my high school geology class. We were thought that water is the most corrosive force on the planet and that, given time, water can and will destroy anything. I like the time powers, it reminds me of Frozen 2 and the “water has memory” thing. But I think destructive water would be cool.
Oh my gosh i love your creative process so much :OO your ideas are so amazing and i just love how you add so much meaning behind your designs!! You’re such an inspiration to my art and this video just gave so much inspiration and motivation :DD
OH MY GOD ALPACA YOU UPLOADED!!! I'm a relatively new fan and I adore your character design challenges, thank you thank you *thank you* for making another one!
Companion for water gal idea: a massive sturgeuon fish. those things are straight out of prehistory and the longest one ever found was 25 feet I think? I just think they're neat
I think a really cool name for the water girl would be Allura cuz it feels kind of regal but also soft and Flowey, so yeah idk that’s my idea. Also yeah I think a discord server would be really cool! And a QNA
As for the water girl, you mentioned that you wished you would have made them all mythical pets. Maybe hers could be a sort of water-based shapeshifting mythical creature. Since water does shape to its containment in a way. It's hard to explain haha, just a suggestion ^^
DUDE WHAT THEYRE ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS??! screaming and crying bc why so much skill my dude pls hand it over right now?? No but seriously the rendering of these pieces are absolutely stunning i love the fire one so much😫😫and i can totally tell that the fire girl was based off of that Pinterest photo so,,,good job?? Idk lmao anyway,,,YEAH
I would love a Discord server!!! A fun little community for art goofs. As for a celebration, maybe holding a little character design contest and you draw your favorite design of the bunch for a video? Not sure if you're into that kind of thing, but I love when artists have things that encourage others to create, it always turns out to be a wholesome fun time because you have a bunch of people coming together to create stuff they like! I also really like DTIYS stuff and collabs and the like. I'm glad you're enjoying the content you're making that's so awesome!!! It really makes watching your stuff just that much more warm-and-fuzzy, knowing that you're enjoying the creation process. Turning art into "work" can be such a crazy process and it looks different for everyone so I'm glad you're finding your way on that crazy journey!! Congrats!!! This video led me down a name rabbit hole haha. I was looking into names that originate from the African continent and learned a lot of neat things about the culture- such as that (according to my very LIGHT research) it's common to name babies based on the day of the week they're born, or the month/season. Akosua is one such name, apparently originating from the Akan people of Ghana. Akosua means born on a Sunday, which relates the name to sun/fire. Pretty neat, I think! Plus, it's such a pretty name. Afreyea (born during good times), Samiya (Arabic, so more northern African meaning exalted). Zarina is muslum/swahili for "golden." All fun candidates IMO. As for water... "Marama" is from Polynesian Myth, the goddess of the moon and death. There are many variations of "Kai" names that would be fitting, as it adds the meaning sea/ocean to names in Hawaiian, such as Kaimana (ocean + power), Kailani (sea + sky/heaven), or just Kaia / Kiya / Kai. Well, that was a fun deep dive! Looking forward to the next two
I don't have any name ideas for the Fire Goddess but I was thinking the Water Goddess should be named Sedna after the Inuit mother goddess of the ocean and marine life. I think she fits the vibe.
Congrats on hitting over 100K subs you deserve it! I love your style of content your brand of humor is something I find absolutely hilarious and I love your editing style you merge everything into one chaotic aesthetic and I LOVE it! I always look forward to seeing you post! Your character designs are so fun to watch come together I love hearing your thought processes and your OCs are just amazing. You are so creative and it's super inspiring. I would LOVE it if you made a discord that would be great! I cannot wait to see what you will do next! Every time you upload it inspires me to work on editing and to start a UA-cam channel something I have always considered doing. I have always been nervous about it because I worry about putting my art out there. Kind of a feeling of 'oh I am not good enough yet I need more practice then I can do what I want' but your content really just inspires me to be like 'just go for it you will never be 'good enough' there will always been room for improvements so just do it and have fun'. So thank you for putting your work out there I enjoy it so much and I learn so much from it (like my god your digital art long form process videos have taught me so much it's actually insane-). Also, don't know if you would remember me I am _ umbranocturne _ on IG, I sent some reference photos of some opal and moonstone rings in DM one time so hello! This is my REALLY old outdated (embarrassing-) UA-cam account! (Also I rewatched Naruto the whole series from 1 - 500 during Covid lockdown and I thought I was out of the fandom after middle school and it knocked me out and dragged me back in now in college lol it's not a perfect series but it's got that childhood nostalgia.)
Thank you so much! 💕♥️ It always thrills me to hear people get inspired by my content!! Have you ever considered that you're already good enough to begin a channel? 👀 The individuality that someone can bring to their content is the core of creating any kind of art, and I think it's especially at the core of content creation on UA-cam! So I think you should absolutely go for it. I was definitely not "ready" any time I've tried to level up my work, but each experience has helped me to grow as a creator and artist so much, and I think watching that growth is a big part of why people watch UA-camrs ✨ Just remember not to put too much pressure on yourself! Having fun is the priority. UA-cam can be a really rigid platform, and I think the future of content will be new creators who break the mold and follow their own instincts for their art!
@@PricklyAlpaca You have a point! Honestly I did not even think of it that way thank you! That's a huge thing for me I can fall into the trap of putting pressure on myself but I totally might give it a go. I have been looking for some form of creative outlet and youtube might be it.
Fires name should be Hela, it was the first thing that popped into my head because its kinda sounds like healer and then I looked it up and it's meaning is actually torch and sunshine!
I think Nathalie or Chloe would be good names for the fire girl and Aurielle or Beatriz to the water girl (also water girl gives vibes of the episode "The hourglass" from Steven Universe).
Love how they came out!! Congratulations on 100k subs!!!! You really earned it, you give me so much inspiration and I'm really thankful for that 😊 I also think Nafira fits the fire goddess?? Idk I feel like she's a Nafira.
PRETTY ELEMENTAL LADIES EEEEEE???? Super pretty, 11/10 would buy again. Also I'm bad at names so unfortunately I have no suggestions but THE DESIGNS ARE SO COOL
I have to watch ur videos two or three time bc I put them on in the background while I’m drawing bc I want to see you drawing too so I didn’t notice how freak’n COOL they octopus looks 🤩

Since the sky tree and now element charactets are kinda all in the same world, headcanon that the night sky girl and water girl are gfs cuz of the ocean and moon conections
Another headcanon could be that the earth girl is like the tree guys mother or just a relative or some sort
I love the way you paint and design characters, it’s so fantastical and inspirational. The water woman reminds me of the name Tillia or Tillie.
I think Ethris would be a nice name for the fire lady,If I was just the name that popped into my mind when I saw her final design.
i like that water is connnected w time bc apparently water has memory and like the future water is unpredictable and can branch out into many different paths much like time does w the future so i think it perfectly fits it.
I feel like Water (name suggestion: Lana: Hawaiian for “calm as still waters”) would be calm and collected but overly protective of loved ones
Fire (Bridget: Meaning: Irish goddess of fire and poetry) would be a chaotic spitfire and is typically sarcastic, but reckless and isn't afraid to fight someone if need be.
Also thank you for choosing thank you name that I suggested for wade!!
Thanks for suggesting it! Wade was perfect for him ✨
I really love seeing this kind of videos from you, they're all so beautiful and creative it always hype me up and inspire me! Anxious to see part 2 as well
still giggling at "my magpie brain" cuz honestly MEEEEE. but omg i love how these turned out, especially how you incorporated a creature to go along with the element!
also congrats on 100k!!! a discord would be super cool! have a party with your producer and celebrate
celebrate by making an art piece with ALL your guilty pleasure art things! pretty girls, ur fave aesthetic, etc!
After watching your video I’ve been inspired to do crystals as characters thank you for the inspiration
The fire goddess gives me Circle of Wildfire Druid vibes and I absolutely love it
this made me think of a story with water mages being the evil, sly ones. kinda the scapegoat slytherins of this story. they can manipulate minds of people, influence their emotions and decisions, even predict the future based on the people around them to a certain degree. high ranking ones can make illusions and cause hallucinations.
Maybe Solace for the fire character. Solace means to give comfort to in times of distress, and she’s kind of the groups healer, so it might be fitting in some aspects?
There’s also Solari (which Solace is derived from), and this means land that’s exposed to the sun (it kind of has a sun theme).
IDK why, but for some reason, I like taking naps while watching Alpaca's videos. They just help me fall asleep. (Maybe it's the voice and music)
Solana for the fire goddess and oracle for the water goddess I think they are absolutely incredible designs! I absolutely loveeee them! And this turning things into character series! So good! 🥰
Absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait to see all of them together
I love the designs! How about Aquamarin as a name for the water goddess?
OH MY GOD ALPACA YOU UPLOADED!!! I'm a relatively new fan and I adore your character design challenges, thank you thank you *thank you* for making another one!
I really love ur editing style and ur channel all around! U are such an inspiration to me and one of my favorite artists and congrats on 100k!!!!
Thank you so much! ♥️
The fire goddess looks vaguely like Catherine of Aragon from six! Love that musical! Both of your designs are absolutely stunning btw!!
Rayla for the Fire lady and Nakoa for the water lady! Both lovely designs:) good job!
Maybe the fire girl could be called Hestia, who in Greek mythology was the goddess of the hearth.
Goddess of Fire, Healing and Pottery.
And a QNA
I love your videos wish I could create art etc like you and others I can't draw to save my life lol but I love watching Your videos regardless 🤣
The composition of these pieces is chef's kiss
The deep ocean is scary and unknowable and I think that’s a cooler angle to use when making a water based character, rather than water as healing
Absolutely
I'm terrified of the ocean it does not bring me peace
Water gives me STRONG tired mom friend vibes, she would have the others on kiddie leashes if she could
Name ideas for the ladies, Fana for the fire lady and Rivera for the water lady. Love them so much, and the dragon ♥
Hey I’m sooooo excited for the video it already looks great!!
For the name of the fire girl I was inspired by Hestia from Greek Mythology, but maybe you could name your fire girl Helena, Heather, Harmony, etc.
Water is giving off Ulera (you•lear•rah) as a name, and fire gives me either Faldon or Fren vibes
The octopus could be a baby kraken ✨
Girl your look through this video is really giving like holy crap it’s beautiful
As for the water girl, you mentioned that you wished you would have made them all mythical pets. Maybe hers could be a sort of water-based shapeshifting mythical creature. Since water does shape to its containment in a way. It's hard to explain haha, just a suggestion ^^
I think air should have relations to arquitecture and infrastructure, I can't tell exactly why, it just sounds right to me.
I love your videos so much they inspire me to draw and get better at it. (I'm literary drawing rn)
Looking forward to the next two
The fire goddess just speaks to me as a Kayea.
I was definitely not "ready" any time I've tried to level up my work, but each experience has helped me to grow as a creator and artist so much, and I think watching that growth is a big part of why people watch UA-camrs ✨
Just remember not to put too much pressure on yourself!
I have been looking for some form of creative outlet and youtube might be it.
i love the way your brain works for character design 🥰 so inspiring
Definitely Cyra because of her sun looks or ember and Doria for the sea gal
I love that the water silhouette looks like a fish
I think these takes are very original, beautiful and really well executed
Woohoo I’ve found a new artist to have art-style envy over!!! Hurray…
The water goddess gives me Maribelle vibes for a name!
Fires name should be Hela, it was the first thing that popped into my head because its kinda sounds like healer and then I looked it up and it's meaning is actually torch and sunshine!
Love your art been watching for about a year now❤️
I think Nathalie or Chloe would be good names for the fire girl and Aurielle or Beatriz to the water girl (also water girl gives vibes of the episode "The hourglass" from Steven Universe).
Love how they came out!!
Congratulations on 100k subs!!!! You really earned it, you give me so much inspiration and I'm really thankful for that 😊
I also think Nafira fits the fire goddess?? Idk I feel like she's a Nafira.
PRETTY ELEMENTAL LADIES EEEEEE????
Super pretty, 11/10 would buy again.
Also I'm bad at names so unfortunately I have no suggestions but THE DESIGNS ARE SO COOL
I have to watch ur videos two or three time bc I put them on in the background while I’m drawing bc I want to see you drawing too so I didn’t notice how freak’n COOL they octopus looks 🤩
I have a set of magical girl characters based on mythological creatures but for flavor I gave them all elemental associations and powers
