I ended up returning the tempered glass screen protector because it affected the Apple Pencil sensitivity 😭 I'm not using any screen protector atm, and I'm now satisfied with both the display quality and pencil sensitivity ✌️

I think the paperlike screen protector will be good if you draw a lot~ (but somehow the matte finish will affect the display a little.

@@ty-9385 You can check the video above for a pros&cons chart! But in summary, choose 12.9 if portability is not an issue (ie leaving it home, carrying in bagpacks etc). If you're planning to carry around your iPad a lot and you really need something light, choose 11 :)

watching this on my ipad pro 11" 2020 version 🤗. i really love your new ipad pro even though 12.9 inch is too big for me to put in my bad or hold it 😂. the 2021 version is so awesome that, unfortunately i forgot to choose the model because my 5 year old ipad pro 9.7" had a lot of major problems (mostly screen functioning and dead front camera), i didn't want to make it die so fast, if it had been dead before i bought the new one i could not be able to move my important data 🥲. so last 6 months (during christmas day), i bought the 2020 version instead (before 2021 version), i was like: if 2020 version of ipad pro will still be powerful enough for heavy use, and will it recieve more future updates? 😂. hope your new ipad pro does everything for you very well
You're absolutely right! The 2020 version is still an extremely powerful tablet in the market, so I don't think you need to regret that much about buying it before this model came out 😊 Especially because you chose the 11 inch model, the specs won't differ as much from the previous generation on daily basis! I literally just got mine in! I’m absolutely enamored with mine! It’s just amazing! This is my first ever iPad and I’m learning more with it everyday but I can’t wait to get a routine and habit with it that it becomes an extension of my workflow! I’m waiting for my pencil though it’s stuck in shipping hell 🥲 it’s supposedly on the way but it’s been like a week of sitting in my city so I’m getting worried it’s been like 2 weeks since I ordered it

I have heard that tempered glass screen protectors reduces Apple pencil sensitivity and makes your lines a little more rough. I have decided not to buy a matt screen protector because I hate those. Should I go for tempered glass or keep it without any protector.
My primary use is digital art.
If you could, I would stick with the bare screen! From my experience, the bare screen delivers the best experience with the display clarity and control with the Apple Pencil. 🤔 The only reason I decided to install a glass screen protector was to protect the screen from cracking or scratching (since the repair fee is wack). If you decide to not have any screen protector though, I highly recommend getting AppleCare+ or some sort of protective case since the display is more exposed!

Hey there, just out of curiosity. Is the clear screen protector good for drawing? Has it been an issue to you? I’m curious because most of the youtuber I’ve watched used paperlike & if not, they’d prefer matte screen finish.
I had the same question when I was getting myself a screen protector, so I feel you! I used a matte paperlike alternative screen protector for my previous iPad and I did enjoy the texture and friction! But I did notice that display quality was altered quite a bit (this was more noticeable when I took off the screen protector).😢 When I draw, I prioritize resolution & colors over texture (especially with this new display), so this time I decided to get a glass screen protector! I would say it takes time to get used to drawing on a glass, but I personally got used to it. If you have a lot of trouble drawing/writing because of the slippery screen, I still recommend getting a matte screen protector, but if you have similar priorities as I do, the bare screen/glass screen may be better. :) If you're not sure, it might be a good idea to use the bare screen for a week or so to make your decision!

Heya! Procreate unfortunately doesn't come with the iPad, so you'll have to purchase it separately 😢 I believe it costs around 10 USD!

is the iPad Pro 11 inch, 128 GB good? and how is the Apple Pencil?
The 11 inch model is also extremely powerful with the same M1 processor and moreover much lighter than this 12.9 inch version! So I think that's a great choice! And as long as you don't render or download large contents on your iPad, 128GB may be enough for you. :) But I recommend upgrading to 256GB if you're planning to use your iPad for a long time. The Apple Pencil 2nd gen works great! It took a bit to figure out and adjust to the shortcuts, but it did help me use the iPad Pro more efficiently! 😊

Yes, it is! I am currently using Goodnotes, which is an excellent app for notetaking! But do note, it is not a free app and costs around 8.00 USD. I would say that it's worth it! 🤩 Notability (another paid app at ~9.00 USD) is also great, but I personally prefer goodnotes. :)

Is it true that 12.9 inch ipad pro XDR display have blooming issue?
I saw a lot of youtube videos regarding this issue, and yes, it does have the blooming issue, especially with high contrast videos. But personally, it doesn't bother me as much since I rarely watch high contrast films at full brightness in a dark room (it hurts my eye when I do). 😊 I also do a lot of my work (such as drawing, writing etc) under a white canvas, so it's even harder for me to notice on a daily basis!
@@iartkura3268 This! I really need feedback regarding this issue and the undershadow thing on the edges, so it does not bother you? I am torned between getting 2020 vs 2021 because of those issues tho i want to get 2021 because its the most recent but i do not like my artwork to be affected
Both the blooming and shadows on the edges are visible to the eyes, so I can't say that it's not there 😓 But because I often draw and write on white canvases near the center of the tablet, my drawing experience is not hindered in any way! Personally, the issue felt very minor and I would still prefer to have the Mini LED with a higher contrast ratio even with those problems. :) The issues are not that extreme in real life as many of the videos/articles show. If there are any Apple stores around your place, I highly recommend going in person to see if the shadows and bloomings bother you!

It will be my first ipad tbh and even if I visit, i wont be able to compare but it bothers me tho because I want my first iPad to be perfect since it's hella pricey. 😅 But i trust you! I draw using wacom tablet and i work on center too so i guess it will be okay!
@@noobishhh16 I feel you! It's not cheap, and with the rising concerns, I would've hesitated too! 😩 Honestly, if you can find a really good deal for the 2020 model, it may be worth considering! But if you're getting them at a similar price, I personally side with the 2021 model. :) It's definitely not perfect, but with how much I write and draw on my iPad, I think it's a worthy investment!

I never used the actual $40 Paperlike screen protector, but I used a very similar matte screen protector with a paperlike texture for my previous iPad! I did enjoy the texture, but I did notice the resolution and colors of the screen were altered quite a bit (this was more noticeable when I took off the screen protector). When I draw, I prioritize resolution & colors over texture (especially with this new display), so this time I decided to get a glass screen protector! 😊 It is indeed a bit slippery at first, but I got used to it. If you have a lot of trouble drawing/writing because of the slippery screen, I recommend getting a screen protector similar to paperlike, but if you have similar priorities as I do, the bare screen/glass screen may be better. :) If you're not sure, use the bare screen for a week or so to make your decision!

A quick tip to help out when drawing on procreate go to settings and go to Apple Pencil and make it to when you double tap the pencil it brings up your color wheel to help make things slightly more convenient for you sis.

I just added it! I had some sensitivity issues with the Apple Pencil, so I returned it, but it's still a great clear screen protector if you don't do art! :)

Oh man, I really hope you'll get it! 🙏 I personally believe purchasing an iPad is a great investment! It helped me a lot with taking notes without carrying multiple notebooks where ever I go 😊 Especially with subjects like biology where you need to analyze a lot of diagrams!

I’ve been looking at the new m1’s but I’ve been town between the 11 and 12.9 mostly because of how the screen has been described by a lot of reviewers.. what’s your opinion on the screen? Also it looks rather huge, would say it’s portable or something you’d probably leave at home? 😅 I’d practically be using the iPad to mainly draw-
im mainly curious as my last iPad was a 10.5 (the 2017 pro model) which I got rid of a few weeks ago.
I think it really depends on what you prioritize in your device! I plan to carrying around my 12.9 inch iPad Pro to classes, but the size wouldn't bother me as much since I carry around a backpack with me all the time. But yes, it actually is a pretty big size compared to the 11inch model! 😯 So if portability is your #1, I would choose the 11inch model. It still has amazing graphics as far as I know with the amazing M1 chip.
But if you value the colors and sharpness of your artwork (and happen to watch a lot of videos and movies with your iPad), then I would go with the 12.9inch model! I actually liked the fact that it was easier to draw with more space while having a reference at the side if necessary 😊 I didn't zoom in and out as much while sketching too.
What is the difference between each generation ?
If you're only talking about the iPad Pro, this year's generation has the new liquid retina XDR display with the M1 chip (which delivers outstanding performances)! And there are some camera features as well! But the iPad I had before was not an iPad Pro, so it depends on what line up you're looking at :)

Yes, the 5th gen is the newest generation of the iPad Pro! But it also depends on what size you are planning to purchase. The new liquid retina XDR display (with improved contrast ratio) is only included in the 12.9 inch iPad Pro, so if that is important for you in doing art, I highly recommend it! But if you are planning to carry around your iPad Pro to play games, it might be worth considering the 11 inch model, especially considering its price and portability. :)

Hey, it's really nice to know another artist using the iPad w/o any paper like screen. But, I've been wondering, did you ever try with the rubber tip? If you did, how it feels?
Hey! I did try using some rubber tips on the older iPad, but I felt like it affected the sensitivity of the pencil a bit (but this may have been the specific tip I used :/) I also prefer drawing on harder surfaces (since it feels like I'm drawing on a thin paper), but I think it can be a good alternative if you struggle with drawing on a slippery surface! There seem to be better rubber tips out there that supposedly do not affect the sensitivity, but I haven't tried those out 🤔

Yes! I am currently using this iPad Pro to take notes for my classes and it helps out a lot! I no longer need to carry around multiple notes/textbooks and they're all in one place when I need them 🤩
I did see a lot of videos about the blooming effect, but personally, the issue didn't bother me as much. 🤔 I can't say that it's nonexistent when I watch high contrast videos, but it's not as extreme as some of the videos suggest. I rarely use my iPad in complete darkness at full brightness (which isn't so good for my eyes anyway), so I'm not too concerned about the blooming. I also take notes and draw on a white canvas, so the issue may be more obvious if you write on a black canvas with white ink (I personally never do). But yeah, if you use your iPad Pro in the dark majority of the time, it may be better to purchase the 11 inch model without the mini LED. Maybe visit a nearby Apple Store to test out a high contrast video to see it yourself! :)

Mainly I would not recommend buying an expensive iPad when you are starting a channel but if your perent got a TON of budget for you like....1230$ then you can buy it.
That's fair :) I saved money from my part time jobs, so it's actually a present I got for myself! I'm planning to keep it for a while, so I felt like it was a worthy investment. But for sure, it's not a necessity if it's not in one's budget 👍

Thank you! I actually am no expert with installing the screen protector 😢 But I took some advice from the internet to install it in the restroom after running a hot shower, which I wasn't able to record clearly due to the steam :') Turns out that it did the trick.
