These cars make me wonder why they chose some cars to be in the Creator line and some in the Technic line. For example, why not put the Bond car with so many functions in a Technic set? And why the Corvette in a tiny Technic set instead of a larger Creator model?
There's something I don't like about snapping Technic pieces together. LEGO is much more elegant, especially the newer designs. That said, the LEGO Mustang is way better. The best of both worlds. Technic insides with LEGO outsides.
The charger they used for the first film had a larger engine that stuck out of the bonnet more. More like a track focussed drag car rather than a street car with a blower. This model seems to be based more on the 4th film
would have loved to get this as a creator expert model; but passed on it because when you think about it, the charger's design is very basic with smooth "flat" curves that technic pieces just couldnt really replicate very well. still, it's a very good effort from the designer to capture the spirit of the car.
I'm glad they released the Speed Champions set of this car now. Still hoping for a Creator Expert version but I doubt it will happen anytime soon with 2 versions of this car on shelves already

2:00 that version was used in fast and furious 7, the one from the original movie has a chrome front piece and a different grill with smaller wheels and more high profile tires
Technic never was my fancy, so I eventually just took this set apart and used it for spare parts. I used it's universal joint for my LEGO E2 Class MOC-

And I connected the steering to the steering wheel so it turns with the car. Details I a nice thing on bigger car models I think they dropped the ball on this build. And I turned the wheels around they look better that way.

I have been waiting for this set for a long time and I find it really cool ... I still hesitate between this set and the set 42099 .. I know that these two models are incomparable but if you had to offer me one, which would it be ? (I still hesitate for the 42099 because of its playability and control +)
If you want a manual model with a potential of motorization, then choose this one. If you want something that is RC out of the box, and you can use those PU parts later to motorize other sets then choose 42099
I have both I would recommend...uh well the 42099 takes up alot of space and I get bored of it after a few hours of playing with it i will update when i get the car tomorrow

Hey Racingbrick,I saw all the movies in a week (1 each day) and the Dodge is a Dom's dad creation,and he gave it to dom,they use it a little but it's kinda of a main car
It appears multiple times in the movies but the illustration in the manual is confusing, and the one in the first movie had a different look, especially the wheels.
They were really counting on timing it with the release of the upcoming Fast and Furious movie, but when that got pushed back a year due to the virus, I guess LEGO didn't feel like waiting since they'd already basically started production on this set, they probably just figured "what the hell, let's just go for it"
I'm not sure you understood the question. Obviously I know it's one of the main cars, but which exact car and which movie, because the page with the cars in the manual seems to be messed up.
@@RacingBrick Gotcha, I was hoping you knew of it lol In the first movie, Dom's Charger had a chrome grille surround and from what I can tell, no R/T badge on the side. However, it doesn't have that mesh grille overlay like the one seen in the manual. In the 4th film, his charger has the mesh grille, so yeah they got them mixed up. What is strange though, is in the 1st film, it had gloss black paint, and in the 4th film it had matte paint. So it looks like they took the grille from the 4th movie car and put it on the 1st movie car.

Lego technic builds usually fearure extremely detailed engineering parts while creators ones focus comparatively more on the outside looks

My rear wheels go in opposite directions, locking the car up.. I’ve rebuilt 3 times now same problem.. anyone know how to help?
The output of the differential is locked somewhere, check the gears between the differential and the engine
