The Falcons are running the same offensive system that Cousins has been in his whole career. Or you could tie up like 25% of your cap on 2 QBs when only 1 can play, not improve the team with either of those picks, and then let Penix take over in two years at age 26, while wasting two years of his rookie contract. At his age, it is highly possible that he could injure that again. And if he does, they've got Penix jr behind him. So not only did they draft there qb as a back up plan, but he's there qb of the future. Turner & Laitu are good players but they are not immediate game changers. There was a reason why they fell as low as they did. In the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th round they went defense & offense btw.
P.s....Penix jr didn't get hurt his last seasons at Washington so he'll be ok, especially, considering the fact that he's not going to be be thrown immediately into the fire.

Kirk was the Falcon's top target. Morris worked with Kirk when they were both in Washington. Morris is well aware of how Kirk takes care of his body (better than Brady) and also worked under Sean McVay who was Kirk's OC for two years. McVay has said that Kirk is "a guy you can absolutely win a championship with."
