- Unboxing of T-72B from Trumpeter.
First of the line of many 72s, and its derivatives - TOS-1, BMPT, Czech versions and others.
Trumpeter did a great job with that kit, I hope you will enjoy the unboxing of it.
The T-72 is a Soviet second-generation main battle tank that entered production in 1971. About 20,000 T-72 tanks were built, making it one of the most widely produced post-World War II tanks, second only to the T-54/55 family. The T-72 was widely exported and saw service in 40 countries and in numerous conflicts. Improved variants are still being built for export customers.
The T-72 shares many design features with other tank designs of Soviet origin. Some of these are viewed as deficiencies in a straight comparison to NATO tanks, but most are a product of the way these tanks were envisioned to be employed, based on the Soviets' practical experiences in World War II. - Розваги
Looking forward to the buildup!
Good review. I have this one to build in stash. I can recommend miniarm resin tracks highly. They are superb
is there a video tutorial about miniarm and how-to's maybe?
+Mitko Nikitov I think I have shown them I'm older vids. They are resin and just clip together. Very easy to assemble. Shame they are quite hard to get in UK and not that cheap. I just wish someone would bring out some more paint masks for Russian armour. The bmpt digital camo would be a great mask to have for example
We are preparing that one, and if the office are not on holiday, we will have BMPT digital camo next week! :)
Nice review, one correction though. The T-72 version seen in the tank biathlons is the T-72B3, not this version. Most obvious difference at a glance is the B3 lacks the spotlight next to the main gun, though the wind sensor is also different and a few other things if you know what to look for. MENG recently released their B3 version, Trumpeters should be out soon
AWESOME
very good review! I'm thinking about building a T-55, T-64 or a T-72 in the future, probably one from the Syrian or Ukrainian civil wars.
***** Speaking of Syrian civil war: ua-cam.com/video/vQ_DEV0aWao/v-deo.html
Mitko Nikitov Today I bought me a T-72B from Zvezda in 1/35th scale. The kit is definitely not as good as your Trumpeter kit, but i definitely am looking forward to build it.
Not sure yet if it will be a Syrian or Ukrainian :D
***** I would go for Syrian since the detail of Zvezda might be less than Tru. But Syrians have add-on field-built armor and stowage, so you might make it shine!
Thank you for your advice! At the moment i'm leaning towards a Syrian :) but i have other projects to finish first, so plenty of time to make up my mind :D
+RollingThunderModels This kit will fit for the Ukrainian civil war. And actualy its real name is t-72 BA and it was made in 1998, some models of this tanks could be equiped with v-92s-2 engine (like on t-90) this tanks were produced from 2003. But this model from trumpeter have v-84ms engine (engine exhaust pipe is bigger than t-90's). Here you can find some photos os this tank in Ukraine www.dokaz.org.ua/%D1%80%D0%BE%D1%81%D1%81%D0%B8%D0%B9%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B0%D1%8F-%D0%B1%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%B5%D1%82%D0%B5%D1%85%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B0-%D0%B2-%D0%B2%D0%BE%D0%B9%D0%BD%D0%B5-%D0%BD%D0%B0-%D0%B2%D0%BE/#.Vh_3MfntlHw
Mitko, was this the model type (B that is) that was used in the Chechen conflicts?
PFMANN1 I have no idea unfortunately :)
+PFMANN1 The T72B certainly saw service in both Chechen Wars, they proved much more dependable than their T72A and non-Kontakt-5 armoured comrades.
...HOOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you Russian or ex-Soviet?
Thank god no!
Mitko Nikitov
Why thank god? You are anti-communist?
Extremely.
Mitko Nikitov Oh ok.
