I tear up a bit with the bittersweet nostalgia of THX, Universal, Colombia, and 20th Century Fox. As a film student, all these film company logos I watched when I was very early in my childhood hold a very special place in my heart.
It's a treat to watch how Into The Spiderverse adapts and changes the various studio logos it uses.
Opening studio logos often being more than just some industry-standard requirement was something I first noticed around 91 or 92 or whenever it was I saw Edward Scissorhands for the first time. The beautiful blue-toned 20th Century Fox logo with the snow falling around it always stayed with me and it magically set the tone for the story that was about to be told. This was a great little video essay further illustrating how this can and has worked in the past. Thumbs up.
A24's logo has a separate fanbase
I'm a simple man. I see A24. I go watch the movie. Lol
@@Jabatemanjr lmaoo nothing but the truth
Agreed.
Hard to dislike a movie made by them
It's just a basic logo with putting some effects
The New Line Cinema logo holds a special place in my heart
My Favorite Variation of that logo is the one from 2003's Freddy Vs. Jason. I like it because it's red.
Lol true, when I was a kid i was so obsessed in drawing the logo on paper because it just seems so easy to draw it and a lot of fun
anyone remember Batman TAS opening?? the warners logo with the two headlights slowly turning into a blimp and then panning down to Gotham. it was so cool
The now defunct Revolution Studios logo was pretty tight, also love the old school Columbia Pictures opening for Superbad.
The Carolco logo. The epitome of action films from the late 80s/early 90s. The one that gets me emotional just watching it was the Universal 100th Anniversary with its rousing score.
The Scott Free animation is cool AF.
Yeah, it's dark and mysterious, and also uncertain.... which fits well with most of Ridley Scott's filmography.
I’ve always wanted to make a video that strings together every movie studio logo, like the intro to some never-ending Too Many Cooks film opening. This is the next best thing.
One of my favorites is the Disney fanfare before the CINDERELLA remake. Cinderella's Castle dissolves into the opening shot of Cinderella's Castle in the movie. It's great!
As somebody who loves film companies, especially ones that were a part of my childhood, this is a really great video. I especially loved it where you mentioned the Simpsons THX trailer.
MGM abandoned Leo's roar in '68 for '2001: A Space Odyssey'.
Really interesting! Going to pay more attention to the logo sequence now.
Did anyone ever play that game, in the infancy of their cinephilia, of guessing the production company in the first 2 seconds of the logo animation?
I Still do it!!!lol
the nostalgia feels in this one though
I love the contents. This channel deserves more than 100,000 subscribers!!! Truly an underrated gem for cinephages and cinephiles...
this whisper and spooky voice and the accent is not pleasure for listening. So it deserve 30K subs it has. Sad but true. I have a feelings this voice over guy saw english words 1st time in his life and tried to read it. And voice sounds like he is hiding from his mama under the blanket and tries to speak as quite as he can
Just yesterday I was thinking how nice the Regency intro is
You sir is completely underrated! u need way more recognition than your getting now. That was a awesome and very informative video. thanks for making such great content! This was the first one I’ve seen of yours and it’s epic!
My favorite ones was 20th Century Fox, Universal, Paramount, Tristar and United Artists.
Great video and analysis! Clearly done with love and appreciation for the art form. Subscribed!
Probably my favourite recent one has been Film4's ident/title/logo from the past couple years.
With the pan down and filmstrip vibes on top of a pool
My favorite variation of the New Line Cinema Logo is the one from 2003's Freddy Vs. Jason. I like it because it's red.

How much does it cost to make these if you can't make it yourself?
I actually really like MGM and Warner Bros.’s new logos. Which made me kinda bummed you panned them like this.
MGM's new logo is too.... _artificial._ It's so obviously CGI that you can't help but notice it.
@@theobuniel9643 Sure, but that’s all CGI to me. To be honest, this is the more real of the CGI endeavors.
And really scary
Minecraft pictures is more frightening
Renaissance is most frieghtening
3:36 View Askew is not a movie logo, It's a scary logo.
Did you just make a video about Film Company Logos without mentioning the beautiful A24 logo?!
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
I love a good logo as much as the next moviegoer, but the one that really ticks me off lately is Marvel Studios' new 38-second-long logo. Nobody's logo needs to be on screen more than 10 seconds, 15 at most. Anything more is just keeping us from seeing the actual movie that much longer and feeds some producer's ego (in this case, Kevin Feige). Snap it up, guys-we're paying to see the movie, not your logos!
You Hate MTM
OK... What's the critism with the MGM logo...? Anyway I this logo and I disagree with you.
:D ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Warner "Broze"???
this guy 1st time try to speak english in his whole life.
you should to change thevoiceover actor.
