Newer hitch after 2020 does not have a welded tab to mount the bracket. Very simple and originally designed to included it. Now you must get creative to mount the harness.

That's unfortunate. Here's a video with tips on options to store your wiring to help out: ua-cam.com/video/icxNw94AsFU/v-deo.html

The splices that were done in the tail light should have been soldered and insulated with shrink on tubing, crimp on connectors can fail from corrosion and if not crimped properly the wire can work its way out. How would you find this problem when it is hidden in the tail light. The ground wire also can loose its connection from corrosion, it should have been put where you can trace back from tthe trailer connector and the metal it is connected to should be cleaned to bare metal and an anti-corrosion compound put on the connector and screw threads. The crimped connections should be checked for proper crimping by pulling on the wire to see if they pull out of the connector.

If installed correctly, you will never have issues with the ground wire or the wire connectors provided with the kit. You can always solder the connections if you have one available but it is not necessary.

Me: Pretty straightforward install for both the hitch and wiring. Could easily knock that out on a Saturday
Also me: Only $135 for you guys to do it for me... Could easily drop my vehicle off to have knocked out for me on a Saturday
