  • Despite its V12-powered predecessors sounding otherworldly, I was shocked by how good the XJR-14 sounded both in real life and on camera.
Unlike the V12-powered Silk Cut Group C Jaguars, this 1991 version features a much different and smaller engine as per that years' new sportscar-prototype regulations. The Ford 3.5L V8 was borrowed from the Benneton B190B F1 car and slightly toned down to a still rather impressive 11,5k RPM. This meant the engine produced about 650 horsepower instead of the 700 it was capable of, all in aid of reliability. Enjoy the sounds of it getting pushed fairly hard during the Spa Classic 2022.
