    Thanks for the video! My series 2000 2166 is 13 years old and this as a great reference for removing the fender to perform a thorough cleaning of the transaxle and fan blades.

    Sounds like 1.5 hrs ain't enough time for all this work. Can you engine performing this repair an a Nasty used tractor? A mechanic would have to do this same Repair on 5 tractors in one day to get paid 7.5hrs. That's not even a full days pay but I bet the average mechanic would think 1.5 hrs is fair pay. Iv worked for a dealer and been screwed plenty on warranty pay, never again in my lifetime. Pass

    Another terribly designed lawnmower.
    I know Wheel Horse showed these corps how to design rear fender/seat pans & floors to be removed in 5 min by one person in 1960s if not before then. Yet companies still use one piece cookie cutter body designs that sucks when its time to repair them.
    I see these have a cookie cutter frame not an actual iron frame too?
    Just saw one on Craig's I was going to fix & sell but after watching this I see they're not actual Garden Tractors so Ill pass.

    Is there a rear axle pin release on a 2140 that is easy to get to w/o taking the entire fender assembly off?

    LOL 1.5hrs are they fucking insane. I get 2 for a front break job alone and it's only 4 bolts not counting wheel removal. I work 30-35 hours a week and pull down 65-70 hours no wonder the guys that work at small repair shops always look like drinks and drug addicts who else would do that shit.

    2000 series? place ramps on dumpster, drive tractor into dumpster. close lids and walk away. your 2000 series tractor is now fully serviced. my parents bought a 2135 brand new and it has been terrible. its ready for the junk yard. i have a 1971 IH built cub cadet 147. i rebuilt the engine now it runs awesome. IH built some great cub cadets but MTD puts the name to shame. cheap, thin metal and bad paint are a terrible combination

      Yup. Only good thing on the 2186 I bought was the motor which is going into my bobcat soon. The rest is junk. I love my 3000 series tractors though. Excellent machines and extremely robust and reliable.

      @@JoshAllen17Goated actually, I have now established that it is considerably more than 10ft/lbs!
      Wheel nuts @ 75ft/lbs
      Hub assembly central bolt @ 200-295ft/lbs!

      @@JoshAllen17Goated the figures I quoted, came directly from a Cub Cadet technician by phone, in connection with the wheels of my GT2523. The very reason I spoke to them, was because there was no detail in the manual accompanying my 2004 model.

    Still running my 1996 model 2165, will be 20 years next year. Only problem was needed new engine after 1000 hours, but found a good buy a couple years ago. Why I need this video - the deck lift assist stopped working and not much out there to help. Probably pins gone somewhere - the handle operates, but not attached to deck lift, somehow. Thanks for this training video - it shows how to get the body fender off so I can see what's going on, and hopefully I'll be back in the field again by June.

    • @michellecameron206
      @michellecameron206 9 років тому +1

      Michelle Cameron Now that the body is off I can see that the lift handle assy. weld is busted - the springs are ok, the spiral spring pins OK - but with the weld gone it from the handle to lift mechanis, the whole thing just free-plays up and down. Off to buy some parts.
