What annoys me is that I can absolutely try to send a quad and come up short bigtime, then slow up on the next lap to grease the triple but end up almost making the quad at 5-10mph less
This is exactly what I have been dealing with lately. It honestly starts to break my brain. I keep trying to figure out how to stay smooth on the throttle when I am preparing to go for it but if I dont even try and go easy I get so close to making the quad it pisses me off lol. Figuring out how to stay smooth on the throttle has been so hard for me even though I feel like I know exactly what I need to do.
@@pulpfriction4066 Take the Quad after the quad- triple for instance the Cincinnati track. If I got balls to the wall, no slipping 3rd gear pinned I case it, 50mph 2nd gear half throttle about 42mph I can get it, It probably has more to do with that first roller as Im hitting the take off to hard
This was the most helpful video I’ve seen in a while. I will be incorporating this in every track and just leaving lean alone for a little while until I’m smooth. Thank you @Lynds
My biggest struggle is the traction with the B19 bikes... I just can't get the drive in the corner to hit quad... I struggle with the rear wheel traction.... when I change my setup to have battre rear wheel traction, I just can't go fast in whoops... B19 really have got me struggling... I like the feel of B19 but I can't seem to get the hang of it...
I have a bit over a 1000h on this game and this video has been quite usefull. I would say Im more on the casual side and dont really care much about my speed, thought it is, sometimes, quite frustrating to be just "a little good" at the game. You really showed that the basics are what really matters the most on Mxb (just like in real life, lol) and it did made me remember the time where I used your input overlay as my guide on how to play this game, when you had just started to post videos. Thanks, as always!
I love supercross. Usually top 10 on the DDC ranked servers. But I suck at running fast laps. You running a 1:08 without even trying is painful lol I barely run a 1:08 constantly
Here is my feed back after 30 laps with no right stick and standing only on this track. It took 16 laps to beat my lap record and ghost by 1 sec. my ideal lap dropped by 3 seconds which means im faster in rythyms than with the stick. I lost time through mistakes but hardly crashed at all. This is by far the most helpful video I have seen. Ive been around since mx madness, and its hard to teach an old dog new tricks but you just did. Thank you very much kind sir.
@@chappie2dope247direct lean is at 95, linearity is at 150 on lean, smooth is unchecked and set at 0. i got down to 1.10 with only steering and throttle and brake tapping.
I’m going to try and apply this. My philosophy (which I carry from 20~ years of four-wheeled sim racing) is to set the track on fire and learn to go as fast as humanly possible, then when you’re throwing down absolute heaters you can turn down the wick 10% and have awesome race pace. But, like you say, by doing that in MXB I’m all over the place and barely even feel in control - not good. Clearly you genuinely do have to start slow and work up. Many thanks Lynds, I’ll be giving this a try after work.
I gave it a shot - I did throw in some technique I was comfortable with, like rider weight transfer, but just took it super easy and focused on smoothness instead of trying to hit every obstacle as hard as humanly possible. It's changed the feeling of the game, now it feels butter smooth and flowy, and I wasn't even that far behind my white-knuckle scrub-daddy ghost. So much more fun. I feel so dumb, but hey, it works 🍻
vid def not condescending, i love the advice you’ve provided, honestly bikes just pisses me off due to online connection issues and fighting traction on the new oems, it might be skill issue but u were saying something abt how annoying it is to learn to ride these oems
Lynds, im about to get my first Pc, I love motocross and have been watching you for a long time but.. I have one arm so im wondering if you think I would be able to play using the device "Azeron Cyro", it puts a joystick, keypad and mouse on one device and wondering if you think that would be able to control the rider and bike or would it be a waste of time. Edit: Nevermind I watched the video and saw you didn't even use rider lean and still managed to ride pretty decent, besides I could probably configure the controls enough where I could ride on Motocross tracks as well.
Theres a few disabled players already and the game seems good for recognising custom controllers/setups so whatever you currently use should be okay. One guy plays with mostly his mouth
Nothing condescending about this. It's just fact. I still suck at SX for the most part, but I started getting so much more consistent when I stopped trying to scrub and seat bounce everything. Ego really is the biggest obstacle in this game sometimes.
it's not condescending at all, as for someone that love the idéa of Supercross but fail to ride it properly I find these kind of videos very informative.
One thing I think people should do is go find a raw clip of someone riding irl supercross and listen to the throttle input is really puts it in to prospective on how little they are using it off jumps . Ps don't give up at it took me awhile but I finally got it .
In regards to the people that get a few seconds faster when you think there us more time to gain.. me and my brother are almost identical with times on almost every track. But recently we re download the js7 alive track and bloody he'll.. he is consistently 3 seconds fast every single lap. And I can't go any faster.. neither of us can see where the 3 seconds are🤯
Do you think if we are having problems in corners, it can come from not steering properly? I see you don’t go horizontal left and right, but more of a 11 o’clock and 1 o’clock stick position? I go 9 and 3, left and right, and I noticed a lot of the better players do what you are doing. Reason for doing the 11 and 1 o’clock position is bc it is more gradual
the problem I have is I don't have that acceleration out of corners the same way you do, those triples in miami just drive me nuts, no amount of hours will change the fact that you are able to have different lines than us mere mortals, so we legit CANT even play supercross maps because were just hazards! I have spent roughly 50 hours just trying to do the dragons back to triple jump as well, some things just seem futile when there isnt enough speed to be gained to get through the triple that comes after.
I’ve gotten supercross down I can consistently put down pretty fast laps the problem I struggle with is my setup I feel like my bike has zero pop to pull off the bigger lines
