This repair will hold unless it is damaged again in the same spot. it’s not as strong as glassing over the repair but it’s how I usually repair my personal boards and if done right it lasts a long time.
One question in this regard: I had a small crack on the bottom of the rail as well (just far down enough that the black stuff is showing) how do I know that my board already has soaked water inside? And if so, will it dry out just when I let this small ding just open a few days before fixing it?
It’s in the description: Link to ding repair kit (putty, railtape, sandpaper) as shown in video: www.blueplanetsurf.com/blue-planet-ding-patch-kit-ding-stick-epoxy-putty.html
Will this work for a permanent repair. Would you recommend if the ding is on the bottom?
Yes, this will work to seal your board
Nice video, thanks...where is that SUP surf camp? I want to go...
The footage in the beginning is a beautiful wave in the Mentawai Islands off Java, Indonesia. We went with Pelagic Surf charters, it was amazing.
I have a crack/ding on the bottom of my rail, with this fix how long will you think it will last? ESP since it’s surfs up in the North!!!

I'd epoxy this to make it look brand new rather than big ol' piece of putty on the board.
Agreed, that's the right way to do it. This repair was just a quick fix to get back in the water quickly.
Where can I get the putty and the tape from!?

Thank you.
👍🙏😎👍
Thanks. Good video. Would be good to to see if this kind of epoxy can create skin sensitivity. If so suggest do not get in contact with your skin.
If you have a sensitivity to epoxy, you should definitely wear gloves, I find it much easier to use plain fingers and it washes off easily.
I’ve used these a bunch of times. They last for years. I just slap a sticker over top afterward.
Great. Stickers are ok but the rail tape I use in the video is thicker and more stretchy so it provides a better long term seal. 🤙🏼
I don’t even have a surfing board
Then you don’t need to repair it 😎🤙🏼
Why was this on my recommendation
