LOST now has a new level for me, whenever characters are talking in the jungle i just imagine Jacob and Barry hiding out of sight arguing like an old married couple :)
These two are actually so funny together 😂 between this and the connect 4 million bit I actually kinda want to see a dark sitcom of all the havoc they caused on the island before the crash.
@BroadcastThought Season 1 episode 5 - Locke: "I looked into the eye of this island and what I saw beautiful". Season 3 episode 5 - Locke: "I saw it once you know, I saw a very bright light it was beautiful" Bright light, beautiful, eye of the island. The light is the electromagnetic energy that was a big part of the show. The button is a scientific angle on the cork. We are told that if the cork is popped everyone goes to hell. The hieroglyphs on countdown clock read "underworld".
Just been re-watching the show and near the end, and again was wondering his name. I'm re-watching it again, and every time I see the black smoke, I think "look out! It's Barry!" And have a little chuckle. You really need to watch Lost twice to understand the show. The first time is getting all the answers, the second time you can really enjoy it because you're not wondering about all the stuff.
They always loved coming up with funny things to entertain the crowd at Comic Con. No this isn't going to be cannon, it's just for laughs. And because the actors for Jacob and MIB loved playing the sibling rivalry card with their characters. This was a perfect opportunity for them to get back into that kind of bit. It's funny, that's all that matters.
my god.. how i miss this show.. i just recently watched all the episodes all over again..and it was still a beautiful experience.. this show has had such a huge impact on me. This clip was funny!!
I love how they know how ridiculous this show is. And instead of pretending it's not, they decide to satire themselves. That's pretty gutsy. Although LOST has never been afraid of guts... ;P
LOST was always about metaphors and those who took it literally were always going to be disappointed with the "answers". I loved the final season and never had a single open question at the end (I'm with Jacob!). Brilliant "deleted scene" even if it is just taking the p*ss out of the "we want answers" brigade. And John Locke was right. Jack's destiny was "in the hatch", just not the hatch in season 1/2, but in the metaphorical hatch/light cave of the final episode.
@@kevinjones1942 Lost is a brilliant allegory. The brothers are symbolic of the forces that manipulate OUR world. The islanders symbolize US. Each of us at our own level of awareness. OUR narrative is making a big change now. Many will just go with the flow. Some will capitalize. A few will rise up against it. I will be like the character Rose. I will bear witness and assist others who ask for help. For the most part I will mind my own affairs. Too be honest with you the name Barry was significant , apropos & humorous to me 6 years ago. I can't for the life of me remember why!! Maybe it is time for a re-viewing.
@AwesomeAuror Agreed 100%. Another part about LOST I miss is the podcasts. Damon and Carlton would kind of mock the series, like this here, so they didn't take them selves to seriously as the show took it self seriously. So seeing this video reminds me of the podcasts more than the show.
@ocithiel I agree, they never had a plan. Even JJ's recent interviews about Super 8 indicate that they had some ideas in the beginning but never knew were it would lead them. And JJ distances himself from what Darlton have done with the show after he left.
@StealthMaster86 Aw, I miss the podcasts! Those were great fun. Getting to know the showrunners' personalities and humor and thinking-processes definitely helped in making the show easier to follow and much more entertaining.
alexstone108 basically answered your complaint. The light from the "source" is the electromagnetism coming from the Swan hatch (from SEASON 2) and underneath The Orchid from season's 4 and 5.
Finally saw the final episode just moments ago, I don't blame it's haters but I didn't hate it. Maybe cause I knew it didn't answer enough or make sense to people that I was preparing myself for a letdown. (not the first time either) Plus what Jack's Dad said towards the end confirmed the theory I had watching season 1 for the first time 7 seven years ago (as to why it took me two years to see the final episode/ season... Long story)
@ocithiel Why the hate? What did the TV show ever do to you? Why can't you accept that some people thought it was an enjoyable television series, some even considering it a life-changing journey? Did the spiritual implications of the show offend you? Is that it? I don't understand, what provokes you to be so negative?
@Gragthor the entire plot of the series is a giant "chess mixed with connect four" game that Barry wants to find a loophole to win. to sum it up: HACKS!!!
It would have ben cool to see a perspective like this in the show, but never see Jacob or Barry, just hear their voices talking in the shadows being very cryptic and mysterious
Wow!!! Do the kids arguing here know this was a complete spoof??? I mean we don't want anyone getting an aneurysm trying to explain the metaphorical & cultural implications of tv shows. I bet these kids enjoy garbage such as jersey shore & all the so called "reality tv" there is so much character development there. I am laughing more by some of the unnecessarily trying to sound cultured comments & jabs some of you r taking towards each other....Than the joke the ppl from "Lost" played on us @ C
@itspeejay NOTHING, except his nickname is Barry. I was just joking around about how the RWNJs can spin a conspiracy theory about him out of anything. ;)
The story of Jacob and smoke man is too vague and confusing, I'm not saying it was a bad storyline, it just could have been told in such a better way. Jacob trying to prove his brother wrong about humans, should have been the main focus of the plot. They could have explained that Smokey was the embodiment of wrath and judgement, he believed humanity to be corrupt, he wanted to be free to destroy mankind, but Jacob representing hope and forgiveness, wanted to prove to the island humans are naturally good, making the entire series an experiment where the human race were being judged. Now some of you might say "But that's what Lost was about" and maybe it was beneath it all, but as far as Jack and pals know, the whole point of them being there was to protect the island from the man in black, but we're given multiple versions of why he must be stopped. We're told that if he left everyone would cease to exist, that we would all go to hell, and that the darkness would spread. Never is a clear, definitive answer given as to why it was so important, I'm sure the writers knew what it all meant but they sure don't seem to want us to. While I love Lost and think it was a brilliant story from start to finish, their stubborn insistence on being "ambiguous" is what upset so many fans.
Apologies in advance for addressing an old comment, but I wanted to say that I mostly agree with you except for one thing. I do agree that this story line could have been told better, but I don't think they didn't give us a definitive answer. Through the events of There's No Place Like Home, Happily Ever After, and Across the Sea, we were told that the light is an amalgamation of electromagnetism and exotic matter. We were shown throughout the course of the show that electromagnetism has the ability to "download" the consciousness of those on the island. We were further shown in Across the Sea that when the Man in Black fell into the light/electromagnetism, the electromagnetic radiation killed his body, but it preserved his consciousness. His consciousness was essentially fused with the light, and he couldn't leave the island without taking the light off the island with him. Across the Sea also told us that if the light was ever removed from the island, all the other pockets of electromagnetism that are connected to it all over the world would be extinguished. This would obviously cause mass ecological disaster at the very least. The only truly non-definitive part is whether the light that exists within every person would also go out when the pockets connected to the source and the source itself go out.
Lethologica02 Well that would make sense. I wish that the episode: 'Across the Sea' had actually been done like this video, showing various classic Lost moments from Jacob and Smokey's point of view, explaining how they influenced a lot of the events.
Jason Sealy Yeah, I mean all the flashbacks that some characters had and then Jacob and Smokey only get 1 shared between them. Also I'm tired of people thinking that the last episode was bad, I actually liked it, the problem is that by the time the series reached that stage there had not been enough clear answers about what was actually going on. For me the biggest problem I have with season 6 is not knowing why the man in black couldn't leave, I found it hard to root for Jack to stop him because I was so curious to see what would happen if Locke/Smokey would leave. While I still like Lost for what it is, this show had the potential to be so much better.
Weird thing is, the man in black never really says he wants to leave and kill everyone. He just wants to leave the island because he feels he doesn't belong considering his mother was killed and all. He just wants to leave, I don't really see an evil to him
when Jacob threw in "Barry" in the shiny hole, did the smoke monster manifest himself into Barry, who's now dead, or did Jacob create the smoke monster by throwing him down? i wonder cause in one ep you see inscription in the sealing that looks like theyr thousands of years old, and when Jacob and Barry got the island it was in the late roman ages, and who build the big statue that Jacob lives in?!?! i hope someone can help me :S
@ibrahimo76 a lot of the people who hate lost were people who loved it up until season 6 when they started explaining everything as magic. that was stupid as fuck and the writers know it.
In short, if you like the sound of a show where a man can be exposed to large levels of magic which enables him to enter a magic cave - which normally turns you into a smoke monster - remove a magic cork from a magic time-travelling island, rendering a hitherto shapeshifting, immortal smoke monster both mortal and of fixed form, then Lost might be for you. If that sounds stupid and lame, it's because it is, but us viewers never knew exactly how stupid it was until the end
I honestly would love a mini side series of Jacob and MIB giving commentary of episodes of Lost like two master chess players controlling everything.
this would be a great series. the war between Jacob and Barry over the centuries leading up to the crash
More like Statler and Waldorf from the muppets
LOST now has a new level for me, whenever characters are talking in the jungle i just imagine Jacob and Barry hiding out of sight arguing like an old married couple :)
thesimpsons17 yes every single time lamo
This is canon. I don't care what anyone else says :)
They should make a series solely on these two! Oh, the conversations these two might have, the potential is infinite!
First time I watched this, I died laughing. Died again. Best part: "You really need to get over that."
Yahoo for you and your light
This is the best thing EVER!! 😍😍😍
this is awesome 😂 this is canon to me. I wish we saw more of Titus Welliver on the show he was amazing as MIB
yeah right Barry is just a typical name from late roman era :D
RadiusHelayn the mother would have named him instead. So she could have really called him anything.
Maybe "Berry" is an abbreviation of "Tiberius"
These two are actually so funny together 😂 between this and the connect 4 million bit I actually kinda want to see a dark sitcom of all the havoc they caused on the island before the crash.
@BroadcastThought Season 1 episode 5 - Locke: "I looked into the eye of this island and what I saw beautiful".

This is official it’s filmed
Doesn't matter if you're a smoke monster or an ageless man, brothers will always quarrel!
I'm glad the writers have a sense of humor. Kinda makes me wonder, though, if Connect 4-Million is now considered canon?
I've watched this 10X today, and it hasn't gotten old yet. XD
"ok, you really need to get over that..."
lmao best bit in the whole video
To all those who diss the show because they didn't like the ending: "It's not the destination that matters, it's the journey". (Lost official motto)
Just been re-watching the show and near the end, and again was wondering his name.

I appreciate the fact the powers that be of Lost could make fun of themselves.... by using the Powers that be from Lost.
yes it is. that alternate dimension was purgatory where they all went to remember their lives together on the island.
Omg, this is the best thing EVER! I love those two, they need to do stand-up!
Pellegrino and Welliver
Comic Geniuses Together!
Lost greatest show ever and I'm so glad I got all seasons on blu-ray......and this scene is totaly brilliant.
my god.. how i miss this show.. i just recently watched all the episodes all over again..and it was still a beautiful experience.. this show has had such a huge impact on me. This clip was funny!!
In my head this is totally canon
Crappy is subjective. If you actually knew what the show was truly about (the CHARACTERS), you would really appreciate the beauty of the ending.
So many people cannot accept this simple concept.
This is Sooo funny!!! I love that they added new footage in with some old footage, a little trick they used from time to time on the show.
I love how they know how ridiculous this show is. And instead of pretending it's not, they decide to satire themselves.
That's pretty gutsy. Although LOST has never been afraid of guts... ;P
It's your name BARRY ! Love it hahaha

The only thing that's funnier than this video is the fact that some guys think it's serious.
By saying "Whaay naaaht, it yurr nayme, Barryyy!", he kinda acts like lucifer
Mark and Titus are just epic!
I looked at 500 comments. I don't think anyone got the joke. Some how I am not surprised.
So which of the jokes do you mean? The joke with the name "Barry" or which of them?
@@pascalsinger4514 They won't like that the whole reason for being here is a metaphor.

lolololol i JUST rewatched this episode last night
love this, LOVE LOST
There should be a whole collection of videos for them shadowing people making commentary.
its good to know that even the actors found the end rediculous enough to take the piss out of
Ha ha, I love it. Man, I miss this show.

this made my day
I wasn't disappointed about the whole war between Jacob and the other guy, I just thought Flash Sideway was a waste of time.
they really should make a spin off with the man in black and jacob, it would be funny
They are not mocking themself, they are making fun of the haters. And I love that. Hater's gonna hate this.
GOTTA LOVE THE TWINS

Yeah it definitely was. Jacks dad says what it is in the last episode.
lol ah i'm totally jacob and my brother's Esa-uh Barry. i'm always defending LOST, man i miss that show
(it does make total sense!)
so some of them get off the island, Jack dies and then Hurley, Ben and desmond stay on the island. What doesnt make sense??
"It makes perfect sense" lmao

BERRY "THE SMOKE MONSTER"!!!
im LOST not being able to see this anymore...
Damnit now I gotta go back and rewatch it
the light is the source of all Man's soul... without it, no one would be able to go on to the next life... that was the whole purpose of the show
@fribb You know alot of people thought that "The New Man In Charge" would be the last thing we saw from LOST.
I was laughing at the very end XD Barry!!! I miss LOST damn :(

Just imagine the potential :)
funniest moment of the entire show
