Live action couldn't compare to the animated version in many aspects. The only thing I liked more about the live action was how well Wang Yibo expressed the feelings of Wangji.
Dang this is so much better than the live action drama. There were a lot of things in the live action that didn't really make sense plot wise and there's only so much you can do with special effects before things get to looking goofy.

The donghua of MDZS is actually really well-made in comparison with the actual novel by MXTX. But sadly they cut out every single interaction between WWX and LWJ. I would highly recommend reading the actual novel if you want to fill any gaps in the story line, as well as actually see their relationship grow.

Mo Xuanyu probably didn't look like him. Did the body take on Wei Wuxian's image to reflect the soul now inhabiting it?
