Though Labrie has the power, I feel that Dominici has a more interesting sound that suits their first album better. I like both versions of every song off the album, though.
@@surgicalrecordreviews and the sad part is that Labrie's voice didn't age well. Songs from WDADU only fitted him when he was young and his throat not damaged
Status Seeker, Light Fuse & Get Away, and Only a Matter of Time were Charlie's. Tracks 1 and 4 were James'. Afterlife is alright, and track 7 was merely interesting. John Myung owned Ytse Jam. -- Dream Theater fan since 1993
Dominici doesn't deserve all the criticism. He sounded great on WDaDU and he sounded fucking FANTASTIC when they brought him back for a few songs at the album's anniversary show; and he was in his 60's by then. He also put out a pretty decent solo concept album trilogy that has some great tracks. Probably wasn't the right stylistic fit for DT overall (in addition to being 15 years older than everyone), but certainly got the job with the material he's featured on.
the songs on WDADU are excellent , the problem was with Dominici. When you hear LaBrie sing them live, the songs from the debut album are fantastic.

The golden years for Labrie
The best live Album!! Damn yeah, especially "Another Hand - The Killing Hand" is one of the best records ever!
If only labrie had been in when a dream and day unite, the album would be amazing
Portnoy's tempo is ROCK. SOLID.
It's more metal solid.
;)
Love the drum sounds from this whole live album. The snare drum is to die for!
Esta rola la estuve buscando por mucho tiempo.. sobre todo esta versión..

It's cool how this sounds like it could've been on Awake
great track! best version ever
I so agree with you bro.
Iscritta👍👍👍👍
Oh wow Labrie totally butchered this song.
GhostMaker1988 hehe LaBrie totally butchered this whole album :)
You're both idiots. He sounds excellent here.
He doesn't sound as good as when Dominici did it in my opinion.
I think butchered is harsh, but i do think its too over the top, sounds like a bunch of voice cracks. His performance on awake was much better
