The voice acting, music and SFX, just...nostalgic. This makes me picture Penny playing this game on her mom’s Windows 2000 desktop computer. Penny is then magically sent into Arthur’s world as a cute kitty. She looks at her hands and feet which are now kitty paws, her new tail and her ears. She realizes that her connection to learning granted her the ability to transport into different worlds of different PBS shows. Her ability also allows her to transform into a specific version of herself for a specific show to blend in. Penny, in Arthur’s world, is a white kitten with the same hair, bow, and outfit as before. She still keeps the same eye color. In my head canon, Penny realizes that Arthur and Muffy’s parties are on the same day! She helps Arthur and his friends sort out the problem throughout the story.
LOVE that clear sound quality! The way they remastered this and "Just Grandma and Me" is impressive, and kind of reminds me of how Disney went back and remastered the 90s Renaissance-era films going back to the original digital animation files, and they look absolutely stunning.
I remember playing this game at a very young age. I might've been 4 years old. I would only play at Kindergarten cause I don't think I had it at home. But almost every time we had play time whenever I was allowed I would play this game and I would either play by myself or play with my friends. And if I had to pick what my favorite computer game was, this would have to be it. This just takes me down memory lane. And I'll never forget this game.
When I was a kid, my parents never let me hand out party invitations at school, probably to avoid situations like this where people's feelings could get hurt.
Hey, don't sweat it. You have my thanks. Ever since I saw your LB playthroughs (including the Dr. Seuss ones currently distinguished), I thought they were fantastic and subscribed. Again, thank you. ;)
7:34 That’s Buster's voice?? I know this came out before Daniel Brochu signed on but still, Daniel Brochu's voice pretty much synonymous with Buster Baxter by now. Not to mention I feel that Brochu's voice fits the character very well.
I owned V2 growing up. My brother's girlfriend told me she owned V1 growing up. It wasn't until I bought the game on my iPhone that I found out that another version existed (with Spanish as a language option)!
I remember this. But it's so jarring after you listen to this in comparison to the TV show. The Brain's TV voice is very childish compared to this one, and Francine has a deeper voice to go with her tomboyish personality. Muffy's voice is a lot harsher. Wonder who Living Books got to do this?
Francine on TV is voiced by the same actress who played Midnight Society member Kiki from the 90's kid's horror anthology show _Are You Afraid of the Dark?_ that aired on Nickelodeon, actually. Likewise, Muffy Crosswire's TV voice is Melissa Altro, who voiced the cartoon version of Astrid Lindgren's Pippi Longstocking (or in her native Swedish, Pippi Langstrump).
@@TherealRNOwwfpooh Interesting, but I feel like you might have halved all of Pippi's first and middle names to double them. Pippilotta, I know, is one word, and she usually spells Ephriamsdaughter as one word, too.
@@strawberrysoulforever8336 I know, but it wouldn't have been grammatically correct , given how I kept getting that red underline when you misspell words whenever I typed Pippi's entire name as it is officially written by her author yet improperly spelled by the character herself. EDIT: I simply fixed things by rewriting her name to Pippi Longstocking, thereby removing her full name from my previous comment, so the whole misspelling situation wouldn't happen anymore.
+music4life Plenty of things... 1. A higher resolution. Since not everyone is tech savvy, I'll just put it in simple terms -- the pages are much bigger and have more click points as a result. 2. Higher audio quality 3. Two minigames, Pin the Tail on the Donkey and The Great Gift Mystery. 4. Background noise always runs, even during a click point. V1 would silence the background noise whenever a click point ran. 5. No Spanish And probably more things that I didn't mention.
Yep, Wanderful's been putting these out for a new generation, which I have to say I'm pretty psyched about. Although I think they ported V1 instead of V2, which I can understand because V2 was never translated.
The voice acting, music and SFX, just...nostalgic.

If this was downloadable on Xbox one they may remaster it even more

Boy, this really brings back memories.

5:51 gets me all the time too. Man I miss my childhood.
Tfw you're about to start the game but Arthur suddenly flexes on you by busting the sickest moves you've ever seen for absolutely no reason
Am I the only one who thought the running man cursor was the greatest thing?
0:57 I forgot about that music until now! Wow this is my childhood.
omg the NOSTALGIA OMGGGGGGGG I REMEMBER PLAYING THIS ALL THE TIME :D

Lion Roars loud
Blue Bird Roars the loudest of all
Lion meows like a cat.
+Pono Peanutized 11:54 That'll teach the lion a lesson.
+Liam Campbell Yea! No one messes with Blue Bird. Mess with him and you'll get stunned by his loud roar.
***** That'll give the lion it's karma for roaring at Blue Bird.
12:00 the Elephant pulls the Lion's tail
And it actually proves the birds are descendants of dinosaurs
This brings so many memories of my childhood
11:55 see kids this proves that birds are descendants of dinosaurs
I use to have this game along with the Cat in the Hat and D.W. the Picky Eater but i don't have them no more!
LOL! Kate stuffs her face in the bowl, At 5:05. 🤣
2:56 to 3:07, from the sunrise outside the window, you could turn upside down and see the smash bros logo.
I have been able to find every Living Books game apart from Just Grandma and Me V2, Arthur's Birthday V2 & D.W the Picky Eater
2:40 & 10:34, my favorite sound effect.
Great share... I luv'd the cartoon as a kid.
2:57; that's my favorite piece of music.
I just wish there was a separate video to feature that music.
0:57 Intro of Arthur's Birthday (From the 1974 Music)
1974?
I like it when Arthur danced🕺🏻💃🏻
(11:55) Where does this sound come from?
I wish this 2nd version of Arthur’s birthday was made into an app.
Though they'd definitely use the voices from the show (Daniel Brochu, Bruce Dinsmore, Jodie Resther, Melissa Altro, Arthur Holden)
Where's the clickpoint of the jelly and the jam arguing?
+SlipperySnaggleFoot i think they removed it to make room for other stuff.
+Isaac Nelson 2 (The Nick Jr Face Man) No, it's still here. It's on Page 6.
ARemoteAndRandomName oh. sorry.
Better be patience 6️⃣
6:32 Hey, man! Let's jam!

10:06 FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Arthur's birthday is May 25th.
The guy in the plant appears to the Carmen Sandiego tune.
A disguised V.I.L.E henchman. Nice PBS crossover callback (since WitWiCS? & WiTiCS? aired on PBS).
That dancing though 👌
Did you play this before
he still got those moves!
12:00 elephant grabbed the lions tail “Ow HEY”
XD 😆
What's that noise? 13:42
Does anyone knows which monster sound effect on that dinosaur came from?
I owned V2 growing up. My brother's girlfriend told me she owned V1 growing up. It wasn't until I bought the game on my iPhone that I found out that another version existed (with Spanish as a language option)!
snes64dsi Yeah, I have no idea why they dropped Spanish in V2. I guess they just didn't want to translate the minigames?
+ARemoteAndRandomName Because Bush dug that trench and filled it with gators.
@@sparticus214 how does that make sense? Lol
You have it on your phone 📱🐱
arthur dancing in the beginning should become a fricking meme
Bird Singing 11:29
