PART 2 here: ua-cam.com/video/UHscc4OFwiE/v-deo.html 🤡👇⁉However, the competition of ZV-1f does mini HOLLYWOOD CAMERA MOVEMENTS 👀 ua-cam.com/video/5UJ8JlCICbw/v-deo.html
I bought ZV-E1 with a sky-high expectation that the stabilisation for the handheld is going to be amazing. But, it was just crazy, especially when panning to one side. If it is static (or better on a tripod), the quality is superior for sure, nice colour and bokeh. But most of the time, I use BlackMagic Cam on iPhone 15 PM, the stabilisation is far from GoPro Horizontal Levelling, but, the wobble is not as bad as those coming out from Sony. I have Pocket 3, but the gimbal is hard to control to go "where" you want it to focus.
I feel you man, I think the sony's digital stabilisation might work well with IBIS or something. Haven't tested it yet. Nothing compares to horizon Levelling from GoPro 🤣 but the quality is digital. btw, inside the settings of the iphone settings/ camera it has an "Enhanced stabilisation" option that crops in a bit on the 4k in the native camera. Handheld it almost looks like on a tripod. for black magic app do you shoot ProRes or normal?
@@VictorReviewsGarage I set my Sony to use Active Stabilisation which utilises IBIS. Of course, you can use Sony's app to stabilise further (but the free version only outputs in 8-bit). I stabilised using Final Cut Pro and I was not impressed at all. I love horizon levelling but I started to ditch GoPro and leave it only for "action" as it was meant to be. As you said, the quality is digital as it crops in and therefore reduces the final quality. 5.3K my **s! Totally misleading advertisement. Yes, the native app crops in slightly for the stabilisation process, but not as aggressive as GoPro and you don't really "lose" that tiny bit of discarded sides. I did a panning test while running and the result came out smooth, considering the physical movements. I shot Apple Log in BlackMagic Cam. I used ProRes format in the early days and it filled up my hard drive rather quickly. Afterwards, I switched to HEVC format and to be honest, I don't see quality degradation at all (of course, I did not pixel peeping). Despite BlackMagic Cam not being a native app to utilise in-body stabilisation, the app still produces recordings that are quite smooth. I was in the passenger's seat in a car. I recorded handheld and I was expecting that the bumpy road and the wind against my phone would make the recording rather jerky. However, I was surprised that the recording played out rather smoothly! One more thing: From my observations, the sharpness (clarity and details) of the iPhone (Apple Log) almost matched to ones from Sony: both produce natural-looking clips. Whereas, GoPro (Log W400) and Pocket 3 (D-Log M) still look digitally sharpened.
I would combine ZV 1F and Osmo Pocket 3 to travel. When it comes to focus, use ZV 1F, i notice my OP 3 lacking focus. But for movement vlogging, 😂 say no to ZV 1F. It becomes shaky, unless you're ninja 😂. Steady mode of your own body.
Stick around for the next episode, I am testing the footage on tripod only. but just saying the 1:13 is shot on a tripod and it's not what it should be. But let's say that was a complicated scene.
yeah man, I agree. (sorry for late reply) thing is big vloggers tend to post about the ZV-1F so well I have starting losing faith in them. I don't think they are paid by sony but they want to be in sony's good side
absolutely. There is so much technology in our phones it's nuts. I just don't understand why sony does not bring more tech to their main products. Probably because of all the yt reviews saying the camera is incredible.
Not that impressive. The Sony only has electronic software stabilisation (resulting in a crop) vs Iphone 15 Pro has IBIS and the Pocket 3 has a 3 axis gimbal. It does have a mic input which is great but only contrast detect AF. If size is important i'd likely stick to an Iphone as removes need to carry another device. The Sony has a larger sensor but for similar money you could get a used MFT camera and prime with way superior IBIS, larger sensor etc, not pocketable but still small and same sensor used in many Black Magic cameras.
Yup, I used the mic input for a few shots but the dji mic 2 is just sweet. Yeah I would also probably stick to an iphone myself because I walk a lot when I shoot, also handheld. I could not find a way to shoot with the small zv1-f without a tripod where I was satified with the quality. Sometimes I see some footage on the iphone it just amazes me on the quality. MFT sure, not sure how a ZV1 MK2 would be in this case. Tho my micro four thirds camera felt a bit harder to focus than this little guy (sony zv1-f) Don't you feel for the same money the pocket 3 is not better?
I have the same trio (except iPhone 13 Pro waiting until next month for the 16 Pro Max). I bought the Sony ZV-1 after seeing all the hype here on UA-cam. It's been a disappointment for the same reasons you shared. Plus, it's made me extremely skeptical about influencer reviews for sure. The DJI is great and very flexible, but like another commenter, I'm not the best at moving the gimbal quickly. It's so small and powerful it's a keeper, mostly because of the control it affords me. If iPhones had aperture control (beyond a janky VDN setup) I would be set. I'm going to cine case out the 16 Pro Max and I'll look like a dork but get the mobile footage I need. I have a Lumix G85 that I'll keep in my studio. I used to bring it on every shoot because otherwise it looked like I was using toys. And I maintain you look like an @sshole getting paid and shooting the bride and groom with an iPhone, when you're surrounded by friends and relatives doing the same. I enjoyed your video. I felt the color science of the Sony was best, but not enough to compensate for its weaknesses (try to film action with that thing). So . . . until the perfect solution arrives, I'll fix it in post!
hahahha we have almost the same setup man. I have the g80 (the european twin of your camera). iPhone 13 is pretty good man, first one with big sensor. I fully understand that reference of bringing a big camera to a shoot so ppl feel respected. The thing is if you look at the video up top (remember we shoot most of our videos on iphone/pocket 3) the beauty shots from 0:17 to 0:35 are shot on the iPhone 15 Pro Max 🤯 somehow less sharp than pocket in the same scene. I did not know the zv1 had the wobble :( I think I might also cage out the next iphone, this Max is a bit too big for my shooting style.
Amazing, probably for me it would not work as a camera that shake on the zv1f is very much annoying. Probably pocket 3 best packedge but iphone best camera you have with you
@@VictorReviewsGarage yes, the new quirky fixed lens camera Canon just came out with. I’ve found the picture quality to be good enough for quick shots and the video is very similar to my ZV-1F with slightly better stabilization. I use the Canon quite often. 👍
Hey man, agree and disagree a bit. for sure mf for talking heads is used. And i know the theory but in practice that did now work for me i move to much. :( But the jello, is that not from the digital stabilization ?
very strange... I think the next episode has to be a comparison of the camera sitting on a tripod just to put it to rest. Sony ZV1-F vs iphone 15 Pro Max vs Pocket 3 on tripod
I bet you will get negged here by the angry camera nerds who just look at the specs and features and don't actually look at what the camera ACTUALLY can do lol :D I ditched the idea of these tiny sony cameras in past already as Had a suspicion that my Poverty Pixel 6a Phone that's now worth maybe $100 can actually take better video lol. Thx for an honest review and real Life Samples. Great video, wish you much success with your channel!
man, you would not imagine some reactions. I am just a dude buying stuff and being genuinely disappointed / happy with them and I had ppl comment on my looks 🤣🤣🤣 (like I am a model and they would hurt my feelings) but yes, I had the pixel 6a with that panning stabilisation mode built in it was GREAT! Maybe I make a video ab it tbh Thank you for watching!

Every single picture from sony looks better. What are you talking about?
especially the moving ones no? :) sony zv1-f biggest problem is when you introduce movement
also show me one scene from the video where it was better :D
Still scenes are great on Sony, but in action it looks like piece of old technology
@@НикитаЕгоров-й4ш unfortunatelly yes, I would call it unusable when it comes to movement :( that is actually the conundrum
So what I'm gathering here is that the Sony's issue is stabilization. Which is so valid but outside of that, the quality of the image seemed great.

Sony zv1f probably for 20s vloggers that usually tell story of their day. Giving "vibe" and "feeling" more than image and audio quality 😂

clickbait video THERE ISN'T ANYTHING ABOUT THE POCKET 3
6:29 I compare it to the pocket 3 footage. it almost does not make sense in some cases.
But HAVE NO FEAR, next episode is just about this.
