that was a really cool hike, Dave . that is a bit unusual having all those locks in a row like that. I bet at one time those houses were very nice. it's a shame seeing them so run down. thanks for letting me come along. Dwayne
Those days are over. Used to do some risky caving. Watched my brother crawl in a hole unable to back out. Luckily he came out a hole around the corner of the big cave entrance. He was lucky. Scary stuff. Thanks for watching 👍 😊
I agree that it is really nice that one side of the river is preserved without houses everywhere. The color that was left on the trees really made those views of the river amazing! I really like all those little cave like places in the cliffs. I'm so glad you climbed up top to see what was up there. That was cool! It's nice that they made that detour to take you past the construction instead of just closing it off. That was a pretty sweet view.🌲🌲🌳🍁🍂🍃🌿🌲🌲🌱🌳🍂🍁
@@dianemonn6599 Yes the leaves were amazing. I can't believe how much was on top of the cliff. Wish I could go back in time an see it. Fun day. 👍🙂🙏🌲🍂🍁🌞
Really been enjoying your content. You love the towpath as much as I always have. Most people I watch on UA-cam race down the path but you take the time to really enjoy all it has to offer, as I always have, and as my sons now do too. Figuring one day we will run into each other there. Looking forward to that day. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
@@davemartin3579 Thanks for watching. Yes, I see so many people flying by. Don't know what they are missing. Not sure why so many are concerned about getting alot of mileage. I get more enjoyment exploring. Plus this old body doesn't handle high mileage like it used to. To each he's own I guess. Thanks for coming along 👍
Cujo! 😅 Sounded big tho! They used to have molds for ice blocks & sell for people's iceboxes. So maybe that's some of the structures? Loved the adventure as always thanks!
Greetings and Merry Christmas to you and your family. Yes, quite a lot to explore and so close to home. A lot ofriver history there. I can see me living on a bluff above the river.
@@quietjohnoutandabout6578 Yes, would be a nice place to live. I see quiet John has been out and about alot lately. Keep on adventuring. Merry Christmas to you and yours also. 👍🙂🙏🌲🎄🤶🎅⛪️
I really like the C and O canal area. The old houses are gorgeous . I like a good adventure off the beaten path too.
It’s a great place to explore.

It's amazing how many places used to be a booming community and now almost non existing. Love exploring those areas. Time moves on 😟👍🙂🙏
21:52 Thank you for NOT going into the tight hole. I would have needed to sklp ahead until you got back out. 😊

@dayhikedave Wow! Be safe out there. 🙏 That last house was a shame. The kids spray painting that have no idea the hard work that went into it.
@mneil8880 There were a few other houses like that out there. Always a little scary. Don't know what might be lurking nearby.😟
