To memorize the script: I’ve just come back from a trip to Portugal! Lisbon, actually. (It) was a bit of a last-minute decision. My friend was attending a conference there and she convinced me to tag along! I don’t usually make spontaneous decisions like that but it all just happened at the right time. Actually didn’t know that much about Lisbon before I went. Have you been? I had no idea what an incredible city it is! And oh my god, the food! I ate so many pastéis de nata, I thought I was going to burst! The city is full of beautiful cobblestone streets. I spent so much time just wandering around in the sunshine, you know? Winding my way through historic neighbourhoods. Actually, one of the coolest things we did was jump in a Tuk-tuk with a guide. We went up this steep hill and had an amazing view over the city. You know what a Tuk-tuk is, right? It’s like a little motorbike with a cabin on the back where you can sit. It was a really fun way to get around and easier than walking because oh my god, it was so hot! And our guide, her name was Paula, she grew up in Lisbon and she was just a wealth of knowledge. She was full of stories about her childhood and about the history of the city. She took us to cool little back streets and, you know, we explored some amazing street art. There’s just no way that we would have found all of those hidden gems ourselves. I really wish we could have stayed longer! (I) definitely, want to go back there one day. What about you, have you got any travel plans coming up?

Hi Emma. I have been listening your lesson for long time. To be honest, at beginning I didn’t understand what you were saying, because I didn’t know how to speak English. I was born in Angola, then my first language is Portuguese, and since I have started studying , and watching your videos l have learned a lot from you. Your videos are amazing actually, and I am glad to watching them. I lived and worked in Portugal for 20 years. I have been living in London for 4 years, since then I have been trying to learn English as much I can. When I came in London, I was straggling with English and had many problems when I wanted to speak with someone. I also studied french. Actually, I feel more confident when I speak English because of your lessons, and I am feeling very happy for that. Sorry if I made some mistakes in my writing skills, but if I do, please, correct me. I imitated all you have said in the lesson and I liked too much. You speak clearly, honestly, that’s way I like listening your lesson. May I have a question? Truly have you ever been to Portugal? Thank you again for your amazing lesson.
Thank you very much for the explanations. actually I am an english learner and so far i have been watching some of your videos. I have been learning many things from your lessons. Thank you very much....

I went to Portugal in 2005 to do my research. I have spent all my time in the laboratory, University of Aveiro. I joined a one-day trip with my friend, Nicolai, in Porto. It is a beautiful, UNESCO-designated city. We walked through many buildings in the area of the University of Porto. Finally, we drank the special wind together. Anyway, I would like to say thank you for your talk on video. It improves my English, and I will follow you.
Good evening Emma. I'm from Uzbekistan and I have been learning English almost for 2 years. I have recently started following your lessons. You know, your classes are so understandable and clear, thank you for every lesson.
I've been following your lessons and i am improving my natural speaking skills in this english imitation lesson, now want conversation about work, and disagreeing with someone or arguing.

Thank you!
I am from Thailand. I love the ways you use to teach English learners to immitate for making the sound like native speakers. For me, I think it works. The most important thing is you always smile all the time while you are speaking. It makes the lesson much more interesting. Thx 4 sharing excellent videos like this.
Thank you for the help! I think you‘re doing an amazing job at teaching, and the imitation videos are just super helpful! I spent a year in the United States, so I really learned a lot about speaking fluently and confidently. However, since I’m back in my home country I’m afraid that my English skills will get rusty, so your videos are the perfect way to keep practicing my pronunciation and expand my vocabulary. 😊
Emma, thank you for bring this Excellent technique to us; to me this is the only effective way to improve tone from okay to good and eventually to accent-free level. This technique concurs with other speaking teachers’ thus this must be the right track. Also this is exactly the implementation of “deliberate, focused practice” asserted by Kauffman in his “20-hour rule” model. Notice that the most critical practice is the “again and again” part of Step-2 (listen and repeat).
Thanks so much for your amazing video! I've been learning English for many years and found my spoken English still has much room to be improved. Your approach of using imitation and shadowing really helps a lot to speak like a native English speaker!
Thank you it's really a big help. Been here in the US for almost one month and scared and shy to speak English and glad found this amazing video of yours. Slowly I'm learning.
My time that I spent watching your videos is worth it. I love that vibe and technique of your teaching that doesn't make me yawn. You are a part of my daily routine now. I believe my English will soon improve by keep watching your videos. Have a great day and stay safe, Emma!

Hii Emma I am from Pakistan and I just found this vedio on Internet and this vedio just help me more in my studies and it was really fun with you Thank you
Great points highlighted by you. They are amazing too but one thing is crystal clear that without practicing there is no possibility to improve or to take your capability to the next level. I welcome all those who want to practice and discuss any topic.
I had the opportunity to visit Lisbon, Portugal for a day during a stopover between flights. I was impressed by the quality of the food and pleasantly surprised by the rich history I encountered everywhere I went. It's definitely a must-visit destination on my bucket list, and next time I would love to stay long enough to fully immerse myself in their culture.
Thank you so much for this video, Emma! This immitation Lesson really helped with my pronouciation on certain words. You got yourself a new Subscriber!😊
I enjoy your lessons! I get excited to practice your lessons everyday. Imitation is not quite hard but we also need vocabularies to speak this language therefore, I do watch stories where they provide vocabularies with their examples. Your lessons and that vocabularies practice are being so usefull for me. Thanks for the wonderfull lessons.
this is the first pronunciation video I every looked out for, and I must say that its quite funny that I ended up on a video talking about my own cit, thanks for the video, and Im glad you enjoyed your trip to portugal , hopefully you'll be able to return once its safe to travel again
Perfect lesson Helped me a lot, espicially, the words that were new and useul to express about many things I even tried to imitate your laughing 😆 Thanks Emmma 4 the lesson Emmmuah💛🌹
I am bachlor student but my english is soo poor.I cant speak english in front of anyone .I fell soo sad when all my friend can speak and understand but i cant. I am working on it and trying to utilize this lockdown time to learn this languege. I hope one day I will be able to speak with full confidence..
I was just like you and it was my biggest dream to speak english tbh. And right now I’m good at it.. I can speak English very well but I still need to communicate with more people so I can speak fluently. But I know that you will get there one day. Good luck and I’m so proud of you 💜
Don't mind with others...if you don't practice you will keep with dificult. Don't be afraid, people should understand that we are learning...and if you say sometinhg wrong...just fu*****, just keep talking and that's it...really...I know is not easy, but I learned in this life that we should give less importance about others, about what people is saying;thinking of us...and live more!!!
I was in Lisbon two years ago and it was definitely one of the most incredible trips which I had with my family. Pastéis de nata were really delicious and every day ate them. Lisbon and I think Portugal must be in a bucket list who wants to know more about the most western country in Europe. But be aware of even in July air temperature will be extremely hot but water in the Atlantic Ocean will be not warm as you want if one is not who like surfing. If you want to be in warmer place choose Faro. And of course do not forget to learn some basic Portuguese phrases they will be used for because even in Lisbon not all people speak your language whether it’s English or whatever
What a crazy way to practice listenig and speaking but also a very good idea and I think I'm gonna match very good results. Thanks a lot for this video! You are amazing! Thanks Thanks thanks!!!
Emma! You are amazing and I can not thank you enough for your work. You are such a creative and dedicated teacher I have ever come across. Please keep making this kind of lesson, it is quite effective!
Oh my god, it was so hard to imitate you. This method requires being patient and relaxed. I think I will spend the weekend trying to imitate you adequately at least.
Dear Emma, I stared to listen your classes recently, it's really amazing, your presentation style and speaking is awesome. I really love to hear your classes it's very helpful for me.
Thanks for the lesson! Actually I visited for my first time Lisbon on 2019 before pandemics and I was impressed! And I also ate like a lot of pasteis de nata! they are amazing! Same year I went to Faro. Portugal is a must!
i would like you to tell us a history with the most common conversations, i am here in colombia speak all the time about soccer and tv shows, what you use to talk about with your friends?
I didn't know this was going to be so hard hahaha I just started working with a company based in the US and I really want to improve my accent, I feel embarrassed during our calls :( hopefully I'll improve someday hahaha thank you so much for making these videos 😊❤️
Thank you, Emma, I love you so much, you are an amazing teacher. So, I longed to watch Conversations about college students because when you ar a freshman international student, it is not always easy to fit in. Thank you so very much!
Hello and good evening, I must say that you are making a meaningful effort, with your video conversions. Where do you come from? I'm curious because you have a lovely accent that sounds more of English, but then, with a hint of American. I'm enthusiastic about learning to speak the Queen's English. Is that offered in your diets?
I addressed the content producer directly, I feel a very strong sense of disrespect. I don't know her name, but I think its very impolite, on her part not to reply my question. I appreciate the 1st video I watched, that's why I'm interacting. I wonder if she isn't racist. If she refuses to reply my commentary I'll unsubscribe, to her channel. Besides her long period of silence, is deliberate. Its an insult. I should also send, a signal of non recommendation.
@@omololaaremu5050 excuse me maam, producers here don't really interact with people on the comment section and that's very normal, doesn't necessarily mean she's siding to certain race.
I've been following your lessons lately and I'm so addicted to these. My listening is quite good but I have a problem while speaking. What happens is that I talk very fast in my native language (I actually speak three regional languages fluently) ,but I fumble while speaking in English due to this habit and one more thing i can not follow up with your accent ,it is fine with individual words but while speaking sentences I lose it all. So how do I improve my pronunciation and fluency at the same time?
Hi Rahul, thanks so much for the great feedback!
Yes, the problems you are facing are a challenge as the pronunciation of English words can change quite a lot when spoken at natural pace. English sounds are influenced by the sounds around them in a sentence.
Have you tried practising with this series of lessons I created? It will help you to learn about how English words link together and reduce down when spoken naturally in sentences: ua-cam.com/video/Nc2r_5XhkGk/v-deo.html

Hey would you like to do practice of English with me?

I’ve just come back from a trip to Portugal! Lisbon, actually. (It) was a bit of a last minute decision. My friend was attending a conference there and she convinced me to tag along! I don’t usually make spontaneous decisions like that but it all just happened at the right time. I actually didn’t know that much about Lisbon before I went. Have you been? I had no idea what an incredible city it is! And oh my god, the food! I ate so many pastels de nata, I thought I was going to burst! The city is full of beautiful cobble stone streets. I spent so much time wandering in the sunshine you know? Winding my way through historic neighbourhoods. Actually, one of the coolest thing we did was a jump in a tuk-tuk with a guide. We went up this steep hill and had an amazing view over the city. You know know what a Tuk-tuk is right?
Hii Emma I am from Pakistan and I just found this vedio on Internet and this vedio just help me more in my studies and it was really fun with you Thank you

you're so kind, thank you. I got a lot of lessons from you
Great points highlighted by you. They are amazing too but one thing is crystal clear that without practicing there is no possibility to improve or to take your capability to the next level. I welcome all those who want to practice and discuss any topic.
I wanted to learn British accent... Now I've changed my thought.... your accent much more easier for me♥️
Muzahidul Islam I’m happy to help you practise!

This is totally different way to learn english, i love it..

Thank you for sharing timestamps, Caryl!
Thanks for the wonderfull lessons.
this is the best thing i've ever watched
this is the first pronunciation video I every looked out for, and I must say that its quite funny that I ended up on a video talking about my own cit, thanks for the video, and Im glad you enjoyed your trip to portugal , hopefully you'll be able to return once its safe to travel again

I am bachlor student but my english is soo poor.I cant speak english in front of anyone .I fell soo sad when all my friend can speak and understand but i cant. I am working on it and trying to utilize this lockdown time to learn this languege. I hope one day I will be able to speak with full confidence..
@Rayka Isidorio Rangel anyone up for speaking practise
Ooh my God, I was running to catch you in step three 😂 thank you for these actually we need more content like this one.
hehe yeah, it's a challenge! It will take you a few attempts to get your tongue working quickly!
It's a wonderful mode of improve our English that I hadn't found here in UA-cam. Congrats!!!
well this was a coolest video that i have found on the internet. i love to watch it again soon
Excellent tips and advice Vitaly!
Thanks so much for this. I always get tied up while I am speaking. I have practiced it and It worked!
Wonderful to hear! Great work Anisa!

Such a great lesson!
Better than any other lessons here on YT. thank you so much!
It just dawned me why I get what she's saying so well... She's not speaking at her natural pace. It's more of a 0.75 ratio ;)
Confident that I will have the same accent one day. Thank you.
The lesson is really interesting, thanks a lot!!! ^^

You're so welcome! Keep up the practice!
Yes she do it with lot of love! She is Australian I guess
M m
I addressed the content producer directly, I feel a very strong sense of disrespect. I don't know her name, but I think its very impolite, on her part not to reply my question. I appreciate the 1st video I watched, that's why I'm interacting. I wonder if she isn't racist. If she refuses to reply my commentary I'll unsubscribe, to her channel.
Besides her long period of silence, is deliberate. Its an insult. I should also send, a signal of non recommendation.
@@omololaaremu5050who is "her" that you're talking about?
@@omololaaremu5050 excuse me maam, producers here don't really interact with people on the comment section and that's very normal, doesn't necessarily mean she's siding to certain race.
HIE EMMA, NICE TO IMITATE YOU, AM PRACTICING A LOT WITH YOU. THANKS, A LOT!!
Thanks a lot for amazing lesson and awesome imitation techniques :)
Thank you Emma. Been practising for several years now.
