    Thank you! I hadn't known about the 'star' tip. That said, I just got new tires and had them swapped at a shop so I respect their efforts even more now!

      Sometimes, you just need to know how to do something, to respect even more those that do it daily...

    Damn, I’ve just literally changed the drivers side wheels with front to back as I had a steering wheel wobble, and I noticed the rims are different from front and back, luckily I haven’t done the passenger side yet so will swap them
    Back over 😮

      Oops, but glad you found that out before having changed all 4 wheels. I remember the Manual is explicit in saying you shouldn't swap them front to back (just a bit lazy to look it up now ;) )

    Because you don't know the English names, here they are:
    2:46 Sockets
    2:53 Chocks
    3:03 Tyre iron
    Is a 3t jack required? I mean, it's not taking the entire weight of the vehicle... I'm asking because I need to look at swapping my P2 tyres soon and I'd rather not pay somebody to do it just because they have a fancy jack.

      Thanks for the proper names.
      Since I didn't open a jack before, I just went on the safe side and bought a 3 ton, I can't give a formal advice on using a lower weight rated jack.

    Hi, Did it affect the tyre pressure monitoring system? I haven't had to the change the wheel (yet) so curious...

    • @novajuiceev
      @novajuiceev  Місяць тому

      No - the first time I did it, I dutifully reset the monitoring, but the last time I didn't even think about it. The monitoring didn't bother (although, previously, unrelated from tire changing, I have had a warning and had indeed to add pressure - so the system does work)

    Shouldn't you have put the covers back on in the star pattern too?

    • @novajuiceev
      @novajuiceev  3 місяці тому

      The covers are just decorative plastic, so the order doesn't matter. Where putting back the lugs in the star pattern is better to ensure a similar "pressure" all around.

      I was teasing you a little. Great video.

    Hi
    Except on the sticker, could you see another number on the front and rear tyres ?
    Question from Belgium ;) owner of a P2 LRSM
    Thanks !

      @novajuiceev  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi there, fellow Belgian: no, the actual tire ("rubber") is the same, but the rim (the "metal") is slightly larger in the back.
      One way that I didn't mention while filming the video, but that I ended up using more the last time I changed back from winter wheels, is if you look at the "holes" in the rims: the holes are deeper for the back wheels than for the front wheels.

      Ok merci
      Donc pas de différence au niveau des pneus
      Je suppose que ne va jamais mettre les pneus avant à l’arrière ?

    Polestar gave me a tool for removing the plastic caps. Is a screwdriver better?

    • @novajuiceev
      @novajuiceev  Рік тому +1

      I think a dedicated tool would be better, less risk of damaging the rims with a metal screwdriver. I looked for that tool (which is also mentioned in the manual, page linked to from the description), but couldn't find it in the satchel in the frunk. So went with the good 'ol screwdriver ;)

    What brand torque wrench is that?

    Strange that the tires are the same size, but the wheels are different widths.

    • @novajuiceev

      It does give a slight visual effect - mostly subconscious, though ;)
      I remember reading (in the car's manual?) that it had some (performance? adherence?) advantages?

    What I needed to see was how to pop the lug caps off and you blocked the view with your arm!!! Now the video is useless for me thanks.

    • @novajuiceev

      Hi Kevin, sorry that the video is useless. I simply used plyers (if that is the correct English word). Some cars apparently come with plastic plyers (see car manual), mine didn't, so I just used one of my regular tools.

      @@novajuiceev 1st, please forgive my rudeness that wasn't called for on my part, just was frustrated. My 24' P2 did come with the lug cover remover tool, once I found them and figured out what it was for. I wouldn't call them plyers though, more like plastic tweezers. They pop off the caps with ease. I'd suggest ordering it as it will not scratch inside the wheel or damage the covers as screw drivers or any non plastic tool could do. Thanks for replying.
