iPhone 14 Pro Max Honest Issues After 1 Year - In this episode, I don't praise the iPhone 14 Pro Max as I have done all year, but share some honest issues I have with this iPhone, let's discuss :) Enjoy the video!
Iphone 14 PM user here. Have been using android for my very first smartphone (2012, Samsung Galaxy Ace, Galaxy S4 and S5, Galaxy Note and Xiaomi phones), finally decided to switch to IOS devices this year since I got an Ipad for work. Bought the 14 PM on January, battery health dropped to 97 now, but still works perfectly and last a day for average usage. Though I can say IOS devices are more secured than Android devices, but as you guys can see, android devices now are starting to keep up with apple. I would definitely change to any android devices next year, and my 14 PM will be my second phone, coz I guess my 14 PM will still last for the next 4-5 years. Sorry for my bad English
During my time using 14 Pro max, I had issues like UA-cam frame drop, lag in games, over sharpening in capturing pictures, slow charging speed, always warn about temperature when charging and battery drain quickly. So I switch to S23 ultra 🙂
Hi. Can you tell me what your experience has been while gaming on the S23 ultra? I want to get one to play games like Free Fire and Call of Duty, but I was wondering if I should get an iPhone instead.
I have the 14 pro max and let me tell you something, it has the best battery life I’ve ever experienced on a smartphone. I also don’t use AOD since I don’t find it useful.
I have the 15 pro and I don't use the always on display. I haven't used it since I had a galaxy S7. It drains the battery. Maybe not by a lot but you know something I ended up turning it off. I don't find it useful.
12PM user just waiting for the 15PM. Was going to upgrade to the 14PM but I think it will be better to get the titanium phone and the bezels is going to be extra thin so it will feel like full screen usage. And the base storage is finally going to be 256 which is about time
I've got the 13 Pro Max and it's great. I am not going to upgrade anytime soon, doesn't worth the money for me because this phone the 13-Promax I think is one of the best phone Apple had ever made the 14 was just a stop-gap IPhone because they had to make an iPhone for the year 2023. Thanks for the Video Nick.
Same here. Honestly, iPhone 14 Pro Max was the first iPhone in a long time that I was not impressed with. The Dynamic Island was too intrusive, the eSim Only format, it just didn’t work for me. I’m even considering Android at this point. There’s honestly a lot of exciting things going on over there.
Your absolutely right I think you should upgrade iphone every 5years cause the iphone never change big just A15 A16 chips change and that's it 😂 and the speed of the chip are seem
I went from the 12,13,14 pro max to the S23 Ultra 512GB and i did not regret it. Apple Iphones are great looking phones, great battery and 4K filming but the Samsung S23 Ultra has so many more to offer.
I absolutely agree. Got my S23 Ultra a couple weeks ago. I gave iphone a chance with the 13 pro max, and the IOS 16 was a buggy mess. IPhone has been cutting too many corners, and it's definitely showing. Especially the last 2 years.
I am going to take a huge leap forward (6 years of phones altogether) I am planning to jump from an iPhone 8 to an iPhone 15 Pro Max. It’s crazy I still have an iPhone 8 in 2023 lol I really can’t wait to see all the new features 🤞
Better not buy 15 cuz it's build quality is way worst then 14 and it now expensive then i phone 14 Lol i am Android user I searched alot of things and now I am going to buy 14 pro max this tommorow trust me bro 15 pro max not worth to switch .
These issues seem a bit thin. You discover after a year that you find the phone too heavy? Nothing is free, do you want the high brightness to be able to read your screen in direct sunlight or do you want longer battery life? If you use it hard, with always on display and high brightness does the phone last you a day?
I went from an LG v60 thing 5g to the 14 pro because I got tired of carrying a brick around. Phone fits better in my pocket and actually like the weight! Should have got the 14 pro max cause I’m getting blinder by the day! 😂
Still 100% battery and no problems. As far as battery drain, I have never turned my AOD wallpaper off even with ability to do so. I never need charge for couple of days. I'll be getting 15 anyway for sure, I think the Titanium is the big upgrade for me. Most competition using aluminium still.
Hey man. I know it’s your opinion but this phone is a hit or miss of perfection. I had mine for 1 year. Still 100 ?% battery life and still like the best experience for me. My opinion. Love your channel. Keep up the great updates.
@@ArchMonHoK in my opinion it has a lot to do with the battery. The battery might be a week one and if you notice a lot of over heating that’s an issue wit it. I never got any over heating with mine and I’m at 100%. Batteries are cheap I bet if you bought an new battery you might have better luck
The problem is not the weight, the problem is that the device is bulky. S23 Ultra is easier to handle with one hand, fits better in the hand. iPhone max is clunkier.

I kinda agree with u bro, but turn on dark mode. It'll help save battery life as it doesn't use too much brightness. i've thought of getting the 14 pro max but i might just go with the s23 ultra. idk i need options iPhone 14 Pro Max or S23 Ultra?

If ur in the apple ecosystem, go with iphone, otherwise, give samsung a shot. Android has improved significantly since back then and is going to get even better with android 14 which is imminent
I’m on the iPhone 12 Pro Max for 33 months and it runs like at the first hour, really well. I’m would not upgrading but my son is waiting for my 12. And so I have to 😉. I’m looking forward to the 15 Pro Max and I hope Apple will fix the battery issues before launching this phone.
It's been more than two years since I subscribed to this channel, and I would say watching the latest videos of Nick Ackerman, I kind of noticed that his way of talking and delivering his thoughts is now much more professional and mature
I am facing some issues with my new 14pro. . Like crashing apps, automatically turn off and turn on device, sometimes turn off can't turn on few minutes then turn on but restart twice. .i don't understand this 🙄
5:25 I honestly disagree with this. For me the always on display does not play a huge factor for battery drainage. What I noticed is that if you have the weather widget, you’re battery will tank. After removing the weather widget my battery life improved greatly while maintaining the always on display on my 14 Pro.
My screen flickers a tiny bit when it’s on regular mode with the white background but other than that battery has been amazing. I keep the charge between 43%-80% but I know that a lot of people have been having issues with their phones with the cameras shaking, battery degradation, etc. and I just got this phone 14 Pro Max about a week ago on November 11th 2023. I turned off automatic for the dark mode in my settings and I don’t see the flickering it’s not that bad but still annoying.
great video Nick! as for the e sim issue, only the US model of iphones have esim only. Can always buy an iphone in another country like canada if you want the sim card tray
Personally, I've never had any issues with my 14 Pro Max. I usually have the display on full brightness, but it never dims, neither does it overheat. Same with the Always On display. I've never experienced any significant battery drain. Not sure if I just hadn't noticed prior to the software update, but it's always worked really well for me.
Well, let’s be honest champs - we don’t very often focus on the downsides (regardless of their obvious presence) because if we spent USD1000+ on a phone, our brain just cannot comprehend that it cannot be anything but perfect. I switched just like a month ago from 12 to 14 pro. It’s hard to admit it but I have literally squander money. I could have lived with that 12 for the next 2 years easily. No improvements whatsoever and trying to argument the purchase I will always find some positives like it has dynamic island, 120hz blah blah - literally makes no difference, still a phone.
Hi Nick what you think is best flagship phone to buy right now i was considering iphone 14 pm s23 ultra or pixel 7 pro what you this is the best out these three or you have another suggestion
Used the Galaxy S22 and the charging was beyond slow. The phone heats up for no reason, loses battery like an unstoppable water leak and charges dead slow. Think the 14 Pro and Pro Max are far better in terms of charging speed.
It’s iPhone. No need to rush for an upgrade. I’ll be keeping my 13 pro max for awhile. I can never go back to android, but they gave you reasons to upgrade.
Valid points but definitely minor issues in the overall scheme of things. I'd say rough start due to OS issues but definitely aged like fine wine. I'd say even with the AOD enabled, my 14 Pro Max lasts about an hour longer than my S23 Ultra. In terms of weight, I hope the titanium frame is lighter.
First issue (weight). Second issue (backlight) Third issue (crashes) 4 issue (Always on display) 5th issue (fast charging) 6th camera. (Zoom). (E sim) You don’t have issues.
My wife has the 13 Pro Max, and she loves it. A great video brother. A very honest and true video about the 14 Pro Max. I'm a S21 ultra 5G. Samsung forever. 😊
Hello Nick, created by Ella Proved that the AOD on the 14 Pro drains less than almost all android phones and that was with wallpaper and all. I would think that after a year that discussion would be over. Turn if off or enjoy it. There are real problems in life other than your Iphone.
2:31 the brightest idk about that but I think the greatest screen I personally seen this year is from the samsung s23 ultra. The colours are just so vibrant on that screen and really really bright I don't think it has nothing to envy to the iphone. And also technically speaking samsung make the screen for the iphone so you are rating a samsung screen basically.
I have an iPhone 13 Pro and will probably wait for a deal as I’ll eventually get the battery replaced through AppleCare+ and don’t feel the need to replace it.
S23 you have much more benefits: Faster charge, better chipset, more functions, larger battery, its much cheeper, reverse charging, it is not as heavy, samsung dex, much more customization, 30x zoom... so i would defenetly buy the s23 bro👍🏼
minimum screen auto lock time is also 30 seconds that is i think too much and it reduces battery back up time a lot. apple should also give 10 or 15 seconds time in the screen auto lock time list so that users dont always have to lock the phone with power button.
I got the 14 plus because I really just wanted a bigger screen. Im coming from the SE 2020 2nd Gen Version. I dont need the insane camera or any of the extra power. The only reason I almost regret not getting the pro max is because it has the dynamic island. But it isnt worht paying an extra 800$ for. I hate that apple has made my new phone feel old with the dynamic island on the new ones :(
Honestly, i have no what you're talking about.... This phone is the best phone from apple ever designed, it feels premium and rich. Your only issue i see you have is, battery life.
If iphone would gibe more options for a vivid mode i would switch. I dont think apple realizes thats all they would need to do to control 75% of the market. The reason we buy samsung is for its colroful display. Really most of is thats the main reason. I dont understand why apple doesnt understand that. Its such an easy thing to do since the panels they use are absolutely able to do it.
Batt health degrading faster than speed of light a cause for concern and knocking on Apple door asking them why 14 series was so fragile unlike its predecessor 😒
Apple should give more attention to their iphone. as per this video also there are lot of things to improve in this phone. Come on now Apple its time to forget about your ego stuff. Mobile phone technology has been improved way more better than you think. At least Apple not using fast charging tech also. and when it comes to the Software customization its horrible. STOP doing usless stuff like making round edges in the phone, blue bubble😂, titanium frame etc. give us a mind blowing iphone next time.
It’s basically the same as my iPhone 13 Pro Max that I had before it. Seriously, the Dynamic Island isn’t all that useful nor is it a game changer. Apple phones have plateaued.
Apple needs to improve thermals and reduce weight.. The phones are powerful enough, don't need the extra 10% power every year.. whatsapp works fine with a12...
Hello bro, nice Review, the weight of pro max series is too Heavy i remember when Apple remarks the light weight of his iPhones 112g 5S) i prefer light weight phones ...
My s23 ultra never dims outside in direct sunlight It doesn't get that hot tbh Only 43°c in direct sun light I know it is hot but not as hot as other phones. It's amusing to use it in direct sun light I never imagined that one day I will be able to watching videos in sunlight 😂😂😂 Maaan my childhood issues are diminishing 😂
Bro what’s the obsession with brightness in your videos? Just curious. Like I’ve not a problem with phones auto brightness iPhone, android, or otherwise, since like 2008 or 09 bro. Used to love Nokia for their sunlight viewable screens but gotta be better parameters for phone comparisons than brightness in 2023. 99% of any smartphone today is gonna look just fine under direct sunlight or any normal lighting if left on Auto. Just saying!
That island is the 1st problem🤦🏻♂️ it comes in the way while watching videos on youtube or anywhere🥴 notch was better..atleast it didn't come in the way of content viewing
i've had every iphone since the iphone 3g, and i can say one thing the iphone 14 pro is the worst iphone i've ever owned. the 13pro max was much better
If the island is the issue why would someone even waste their money on pro or even 14...? Bad news for you is apparently after 15 all versions gonna have it.....

Why the screen is flickering after watching hdr content on iphone 14 pro max ?!! Anyone has this issue too ?
minimum screen auto lock time is also 30 seconds that is i think too much and it reduces battery back up time a lot. apple should also give 10 or 15 seconds time in the screen auto lock time list so that users dont always have to lock the phone with power button.
Crazy how the iphone weight is more than quarter of a kilogram😮
Is that wallpaper a picture you took yourself? Looks like such a nice summer vibe
I hate that apple has made my new phone feel old with the dynamic island on the new ones :(
Wallpaper paper link please
Beautiful wallpaper ❤
Honestly, i have no what you're talking about.... This phone is the best phone from apple ever designed, it feels premium and rich. Your only issue i see you have is, battery life.
Im glad i went to the s23 ultra instinct of going to the iphone 13 max from the 13 max my sister got it in December and it has been biggy
Very nice video
It's amazing to me to see a grown man complain about the weight of a cell phone.
"S23 Ultra or 14 Promax?" Might be the hardest question in the world.
Easy answer, if you on Android, get s23, if on ios, get 14 promax
S23 ultra is superb this year
@@KR__ allthough i would recomend the s23 plus for iphone users now instead of the 14 pro max
Wouldn’t go wrong with either.. I have an s23 ultra and it is indeed amazing..
@@catseyereflex6774 i was thinking about getting one too but isnt it too big or you think its ok?
I think the iPhone 14 has to much hate
Thanks for reviewing ☺️
I’ve got an iPhone 11, upgrading to a 14 pro max soon 👀👀🔥
I have the 13pm, the only issue i have is how boring ios is. I might switch to the s23 ultra 🤔
Bottom line issue of the iPhone 14PM = over processing sharp photos. That’s it
The camera is just awful.
The biggest issue is the weight
Does any one having problem with the speaker crackling
This 13 pro max hasn’t gave me a problem yet
The iPhone 14 pro is the best size imo.
But the battery life is really bad
@@arshadramsunkar3435 not really
Please poco x5 pro phons compare others phone video
I need that wallpaper bro🥺
It’s basically the same as my iPhone 13 Pro Max that I had before it. Seriously, the Dynamic Island isn’t all that useful nor is it a game changer. Apple phones have plateaued.
can i ask for the wallpaper🤓🤓
The next time try reception, data speed, and call experience. Please
I was watching your iphone 14 pro max vs s23 ultra
Apple needs to improve thermals and reduce weight.. The phones are powerful enough, don't need the extra 10% power every year.. whatsapp works fine with a12...
It's awesome now. Fully optimized.🏁🏁🏁📱👍😁
Hello sir, i am just thinking about taking Iphone 14 by the exchange of 13 pro
I have the 14 pro, and the battery is terrible. But I’m waiting for the 16
Your wallpaper please?
It's a personal photo, not a wallpaper link
@@nickackermanchannel thank you .. but if you can share it 😕
Hello bro, nice Review, the weight of pro max series is too Heavy i remember when Apple remarks the light weight of his iPhones 112g 5S) i prefer light weight phones ...
I like the design but not with that thickness
Watching on my z flip 5
🤦♂️
Then Watchhhhhh
@@michaelthapa4913 that's what I'm doing, as stated in my comment 😂

Watching on my Z Flip 5 is Legendary stuff 🤙
King of kings is the s ultra 23 not the pro max 😂
My s23 ultra never dims outside in direct sunlight
It doesn't get that hot tbh
Only 43°c in direct sun light
I know it is hot but not as hot as other phones.
It's amusing to use it in direct sun light
I never imagined that one day I will be able to watching videos in sunlight 😂😂😂
Maaan my childhood issues are diminishing 😂
Bro what’s the obsession with brightness in your videos? Just curious. Like I’ve not a problem with phones auto brightness iPhone, android, or otherwise, since like 2008 or 09 bro. Used to love Nokia for their sunlight viewable screens but gotta be better parameters for phone comparisons than brightness in 2023. 99% of any smartphone today is gonna look just fine under direct sunlight or any normal lighting if left on Auto. Just saying!
Battery life is so bad now
No SIM card tray is number 2 issue for me.
Thats the first issue😂😂
The next year lol same thing JK lol 😂
That island is the 1st problem🤦🏻♂️ it comes in the way while watching videos on youtube or anywhere🥴 notch was better..atleast it didn't come in the way of content viewing
How did you manage 100% battery health even after one year
Depends on usage and how you charge it
@@arshadramsunkar3435 agreed. That tips @nickackermanchannel can share what he followed to keep it 100%
Turn off the always on display bro, that’s a big factor on battery
i've had every iphone since the iphone 3g, and i can say one thing the iphone 14 pro is the worst iphone i've ever owned. the 13pro max was much better
Island is the number 1 issue for me
What the problem?
If the island is the issue why would someone even waste their money on pro or even 14...?
Bad news for you is apparently after 15 all versions gonna have it.....
@@apz3849 ^ real
@@apz3849i would have preferred 2 punch holes than the dynamic island
Lol, you couldn’t afford it that’s your main issue.. stop trolling as if you own this phone
Hi, Everyone! How do you handle oversharperning of images? what is your remedy?
Just get yourself a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Trust me, you won't regret it 💯
That’s without a case on it
