I’ve been wanting to start .. I finally posted my first UA-cam video a couple days ago and I was hoping for at least 20 views and I’m over 800 views! Might not be much for other people but exceeded my expectations FOR SURE.
Even better than me! I just started a week ago! The good news is that there are major players that apparently are quitting UA-cam which gives room for much, much smaller creators to grow with the audience pool. You got this! :D
We quite literally tried EVERYTHING... It's been 18 months of 30-50 hours of work each week. We made mistakes, learned a lot, improved, eventually did manage to get nearly 2K subscribers (proud of that!)... But right now at the point where we might just have to face it: this isn't gonna work! The algorithm HATES our content, we just get no impressions, no views, no watch hours... So we must be doing something wrong, I guess.... But no clue what it is. It's been a long journey with a lot of fun but also a LOT of frustration. But I guess this is the end.... I give up :(
I’ve been doing UA-cam for over 2 yrs yes I have a little over 1000 but I get like 15 views now days idk what’s wrong either . However I’m going to continue on…. Wishing you the best on your journey
@@LifeAccountsandGrowingPains Just checked your channel for a bit and quite honestly, there's a LOT of rookie mistakes there... certainly after two years. And that is something the algorithm punishes quite severely. For the record: trying to help here, not insult! Just saying... First off, your banner is terrible. Poor quality, wrong size , not centered. It also gives very little information on the channel itself and what to expect. Your profile picture is also bad... it doesn't fit the round and again: it doesn't give any information on the channel, it just shows you. And if your branding is you that might work, but the channel is about helping people, not about you? (at least, that's what I get from the rest of the channel). Than your thumbnails, they go all over the place design wise and they really don't seem to be from one and the same channel. I was at first even wondering if you had just collected random videos from other people... The topics of the videos are also all over the place. There's no niche, it's compeltely random things and there seems no relationship whatsoever between video's which means people are unlikely to watch more of your video's (which the algorithm LOVES!). So niche down. You say you want to be a channel helping people with their daily struggles in life. Sounds great! But what on earth does a Shein review have to do with that?? Or a commercial on Washington State? Or Easter traditions?? Or... It makes no sense! And finally the video's themselves. They're also all over the place in style editing, pace... And video's with poor sound quality AND poor resolution (480k). No-one likes watching those, no matter how good the video's themselves might be... and the algorithm knows! Improve your video's, work on your intro's (they should hook people, not chase them away!), tell a story and create video's not slideshows... I think your channel has potential! But at this point the only thing that's wrong here is pretty much everything you're doing with the channel... being bluntly honest... If you need more advice, feel free to reach out on IG or something.
Started my UA-cam channel in December and always watch your videos to see how I can get better and there’s always something new to learn. Thank you!! 🙏🏾
I think I’m an advocate now. 🎉 I started watching your channel one night and binged almost (if not all) your videos. Thank you for all your insight and tips! They’re so useful!

As always, a wonderful, quality-packed video! Thank you so much for these great tips! And the URL tip….💕💕💕I’ve watched hundreds of hours of these types of videos and never heard anyone else share this!
I love the quote about people not really caring. Why do we do that to ourselves? We can be so hard on ourselves. I wrote it down and put it on my desk. Thank you.
I was just thinking of starting a channel about how I lose weight and get in shape. Well, you know, there are a lot of videos on UA-cam that show how a person transformed, but from day 0 - I've never seen such a thing. I also have another idea for you - lots of challenges around Pinterest and the other presenters are so preachy with limited value. Branch into Pinterest because so challenging starting out and yet its the 3rd search engine behind UA-cam. You would be amazing at helping us navigate Pinterest. Thank you Jade... I started my youtube journey less than a month ago, I currently have 100+ subscribers but I'm struggling to have advocates on my channel
Well done! You're an inspiration! I just started a week ago and hit 11! :"D Laughing on the inside at this, but keep consistency up, it's the only way to grow long-term!
This is so true! I found that my niche really is trucking! As much as I didn’t want to niche down my channel so early, especially since I just started my channel, I find that talking about trucking comes so easily. It just flows. I just jot down bullet points to talk about (so I don’t forget). My problem is (which I think it’s a problem) is that I’m very thorough when I speak about trucking. I create my videos as though I’m sharing information with someone who knows absolutely nothing about trucking. While this may be great to those who are ignorant to trucking, in return I lose the attention span of those who know a little more…so how do I find that middle ground? Like my next video I’m going to post is detailed, but it’ll be almost 17-20 min long. I could barely get viewed to watch a full 5 min video😩 I’ve gotten feedback from other veteran truckers that been in the game longer than I have that my video was excellent, I just don’t know if my delivery is boring or if my video just hasn’t reached the right viewers yet. Sorry for long comment!!!

I started a channel on Dec, 23, 2023. I have been on UA-cam and was on Adsense years ago but I never did anything with it. I was going to start one during the plandemic. But my bad health and attitude got in the way. I have been videotaping stuff for years. I had a bunch of close encounters with Bobcats I was sharing on Instagram. When UA-cam started pushing more shorts I thought why not…my biggest short was a spider getting attacked by a wasp. I just pulled out my Phone because it happened on top of my filthy Jeep. My biggest problem has been at 67 learning Final Cut. My blood pressure goes through the roof, but I am making progress one video at a time.
I've been creating content for a few years now (my channel is small) but I am enjoying the process. I just applied the URL tip! I was interested in the script section because I actually read off a script😅 but it's become much easier with how I've switched my channel to kinda audio only (+ a podcast). Thank you for sharing all these tips, they're super helpful and inspired me to link my mic just in case anyone goes through the description like you were suggesting! ❤☺
I thought I was the only one doing the script method! This is awesome! I'm trying to do more off-script videos, but that results in me rambling a bit and going off-tangent for my morning-chat style videos. I didn't know about the URL tip which is handy.
@@thelifewithnate I think scripting (for me and what I do) really works because I have a lot of thoughts and I WILL ABSOLUTELY start rambling too (sometimes I get excited about a movie I'm talking about) so the script really helps. this video has been SO helpful! I just started my channel earlier this month, I didn't quite think about it too much, but of course I avoided doing it cause I've always wanted to. I guess main reasons were 1. fear, and 2. I thought my life wasn't too interesting or I didn't have much value to add to people. Finally pressed record, edited and uploaded. My first video reached 37 views, and I got so happy just by that. But even since I finally took action, I've always had in mind that I'm learning, and I'll improve over time, nobody was born knowing, and I definitely want to experiment a lot with content, formats, and delivery. Once again, amazing video and will implement some of this into my journey, thanks for sharing 🥰
Thank you so much! As someone who has started UA-cam not even three months ago, I can learn a lot from your advice and motivation. I appreciate it and will keep going! Wishing you all the best as well 😊
Thank you for this information but as a youtuber for almost 7 years, the views sometimes is discouraging, especially as a new mom. I literally subscribed to your channel after your tips. Thank you
I feel your pain!!! Been on UA-cam since 2017 and I’ve had an increase in subscribers from posting on shorts but only averaging between 200-500 views on long form content. Very discouraging from a mom of two that works a full time job and does UA-cam on the side. Trying to stay positive in 2024. We got this!!!
Hi Jade: As always, your content is gold! It took me 5 months of procrastinating before I finally launched my UA-cam channel Jan 16, 2024! And that's all thanks to your very detailed steps which you generously shared in another of your videos. You're right, I'm now pinching myself for not having started sooner. It's really not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Will now implement your "Subscribe" hack. Thanks so much for your generosity of spirit. Have a fantastic week! 🤩
Hey Jade thank you so much for this- these tips are incredibly helpful. I’m more of the creative side and I want to work towards becoming more structured and consistent. I can’t wait to see what my channel will look after implementing these tips! ✨🤩
Good video. I'm definitely a nerd and as a result I've wasted soooo much time in analysis paralysis. Just bought my camera and I'm figuring it all out now
Love, love, love your tutorials Jade....thank you! "Found" you a couple of weeks ago. So helpful that you cut through the "noise" of what one needs to run a successful UA-cam channel. Your enthusiasm is contagious....so let's see if I put your advice into practice with mine 😂
Thank you Jade.I love the custom URL tip and also the way you did instagram audits for people and then sent a video to them that directly related to their problem area was so smart. I will have to think about and consider how I can do something similar for my channel. I have a yoga youtube channel and am working towards 500 subscribers. I started my channel 3 years ago and I am at 387 subscribers.
Fascinating video, Jade! I'm literally starting my UA-cam Channel about a week in so far and there's something that resonates with me, "no one cares". What?! That subscribe code is GOLD! You’re the first person I’ve ever heard mention this. Thank you! Also, your channel is dope. Love your presence on camera and how smooth, direct, and useful your information is. I subscribed after about 3min of watching. Cheers!
Thank you for this wonderful Tips. I implemented the URL one immediately however it is still the logged out link. I remember watching a video 2 years ago that mentioned how to get a URL that goes straight to the youtube app so that the person is logged in. Do you know how to do this ❓️❓️ 😩
Thank you for sharing your words of wisdom knowledge in order for us to get an understanding. I am blessed and encouraged from your videos. Blessings :)
Hey! 🙋🏾♀️ A new NERD subscribed to your channel. Thank you 🙏🏾 🙏🏾for the ‘handholding’ pep talks, advice and practical tips! Prompts instead of a script is golden!🏆 (I got caught in the word for word trap froze and sounded robotic.)…Launching my garden channel🪴 in February ❤. Looking forward to experimenting and finding my voice and process. Thank you 🙏🏾 again Jade.
I do have a question, the watch time too, how could you do if you are a lifestyle vlogger? What could be the freebie and what could get to watch video? I’m starting to want to do more lifestyle (food, travel, skincare)
I started my YT channel after watching your video and hearing you quit your 9-5 within 6 months. I’m currently using my iPhone 12 and I’ve edited 30 shorts. I’ve gotten to the 100 subscriber milestone. All thanks to you, your insight and me getting up off my a$$! God bless!!! 🫡
I am on the nerd side I must plan everything otherwise I go insane. So glade I find you. My youtube channel is about natural hair care and lifestyle if anyone is interested.
An interesting question! Why not do both and see what happens? If one method seems to work better than the other, then go with other one! You got this! :D
Wow, such great content! Thank you!!!! We are about to start our UA-cam Channel soon and would like to know if you are using any filter for your videos and if you do which one is it? You look so smooth :*

I am on 600 subscribers and growing. 🎉🎉🎉
What?! That subscribe code is GOLD! You’re the first person I’ve ever heard mention this. Thank you!
Also, your channel is dope. Love your presence on camera and how smooth, direct, and useful your information is. I subscribed after about 3min of watching. Cheers!
You are an absolute gem, thank you for sharing your knowledge ❤
You are really helping those of us who are just starting out. I started three months ago thanks to your advice
Total newbie here, Jade! Absolutely love thing #3... thanks a bunch! ❤❤❤
Thank you for this wonderful Tips. I implemented the URL one immediately however it is still the logged out link. I remember watching a video 2 years ago that mentioned how to get a URL that goes straight to the youtube app so that the person is logged in. Do you know how to do this ❓️❓️ 😩
Thank you for the info in this one. Take Care.
JADE U R THE BEST CONTINUE TO DO AN EXCELLENT JOB. GOD BLESSING 2 U & YOURS.

Hey!
🙋🏾♀️ A new NERD subscribed to your channel. Thank you 🙏🏾 🙏🏾for the ‘handholding’
pep talks, advice and practical tips! Prompts instead of a script is golden!🏆 (I got caught in the word for word trap froze and sounded robotic.)…Launching my garden channel🪴 in February ❤. Looking forward to experimenting and finding my voice and process. Thank you 🙏🏾 again Jade.
I’m so glad I got to meet you here
I’m really learning a lot from you Jade.
TY for explaining these tips! I was just focused on views not realizing it's much more but yet so much less 😊
Thank you so much, for sharing such a brilliant info ❤
Such amazing advice, thank you for those gems 🇨🇦❤️
I do have a question, the watch time too, how could you do if you are a lifestyle vlogger? What could be the freebie and what could get to watch video?
I’m starting to want to do more lifestyle (food, travel, skincare)
Thank you for this helpful tips
That link hack was so helpful! My first time hearing about this and I implemented it immediately ❤️❤️ thanks dear

Hi Jade can you share your recording settings you use on Sony ZV 1 when you are recording videos? Thank you in advance ❤
I truly appreciate this video. Thanks. I also shared it with someone I believe will also benefit from it.
I started my channel again end of last year. I’m def both a nerd and creative. I’m finding it hard to give myself a schedule. 😭
Thank you very much Jade. This is extremely helpful. Juicy information indeed❤❤❤❤
This is great, a good reason to start content creation in UA-cam 💫
Started my channel almost four years ago and I’ve finally reached 500 subs can’t wait for 1k🙌🏾🥰
Thanks for the heads - up. Planning on starting but seem not to have the nerves😂
Hello and Happy Sunday
I enjoyed your video 🎉
You are amazing 😻
Love your channel ❤
I started my YT channel after watching your video and hearing you quit your 9-5 within 6 months.
I’m currently using my iPhone 12 and I’ve edited 30 shorts.
I’ve gotten to the 100 subscriber milestone.
All thanks to you, your insight and me getting up off my a$$!
God bless!!! 🫡
These are really helpful! It's a long journey, but so much joy in there!
I am on the nerd side I must plan everything otherwise I go insane. So glade I find you. My youtube channel is about natural hair care and lifestyle if anyone is interested.
Is it better to post videos or go live or does it make a difference?
An interesting question! Why not do both and see what happens? If one method seems to work better than the other, then go with other one! You got this! :D
Thanks for the valuable information! Congrats on your growing success 👏🏽
Thank you for sharing- oh love your hair bows 🎉
Great information
Wow, such great content! Thank you!!!! We are about to start our UA-cam Channel soon and would like to know if you are using any filter for your videos and if you do which one is it? You look so smooth :*
The audience is not stupid. I see a lot of content makers stare at the camera and it is scary.
Scary?
Thank you so much for this. I just created a UA-cam channel I hope it grows ❤
